  1. Despite the Wildcat supposedly going out of style, I expect to see a lot of Brad Smith this year. When he comes on the field, the defense won't know what to expect. Smith might be under center, or in the Pistol, or in the Shotgun. He might run (with the advantage of having 10 blockers in front of him instead of the typical 9) or pass or handoff. The Bills could keep Fitz in the game and line Smith up as a WR - or as the QB with Fitz lined up wide.

The Wildcat has limitations. First, when the RB is playing the QB spot, the secondary usually cheats up because they become less concerned about the pass. But Smith was a college QB and can get the ball downfield.

Another limitation is that to keep the element of surprise, teams will often huddle with their normal personnel and then line up in the wildcat with the QB out wide as a WR. The problem there is that the offense won't normally run or pass to the side of their QB. They want to keep him out of traffic so he doesn't get hurt. But the Bills don't necessarily have to do this. They can just take Fitz out of the game and make Smith the QB. With Smith in, they can run or pass in any direction.

I expect to see a lot from the Bills wildcat in the season opener. The idea is to get other defenses to respect and prepare for it. Obviously, the more time defenses worry about all our wildcat permutations and combinations, the less they prepare themselves for our base offense. So the Bills want other teams to know something about our wildcat options.

Hey if nothing else it should be fun to watch.I got faith in the Chan man

  2.

    Addendum:

As a fan who's had to witness this dreck for the past however many decades, I can tell you I don't give a rat's ass about the future. I care about THIS year. Winning NOW. To paraphrase the old fool's handchosen GM: Show me the damned Baby, Buddy. to me, there is ZERO about what this front office has done that's geared toward winning in the short term. To be honest, there isn't much geared toward long-term winning either.

I agree with you six pack. This trade was complete bull ****. Kind of along the lines of Jauron firing the o cord a week before the season starts.

  3. Yet there are people saying Miami will actually have a better season then us........

Yeah ive been hearing that 2. I'm sick of the Bills being punching bags for everybody. I hope we go out at the start of the season and kick some $%^&^%()&%^%%.

  4. Please save my aching brain and stop putting apostrophes in simple plural nouns.

    Pats, goalposts, days, Bills

    not

    Pat's, goalpost's, day's, Bill's

    JMJ pray for us.

Sorry we didn't know the spelling police were around

  5. Every time i turn my computer on to look at Bills news i have to hold my breath wondering who's gonna be injured next. Now i see Flo is down for a week.Light's out Dareus, Nelson, Williams, there all nicked up, did i leave anybody out. Our team is either full of injury prone pu$$y's or were just a bunch of unlucky schmuck's.

  6. I was at the game today and as always are D didn't have a clue. I don't think if i'm head coach of a Nfl football team i'm not gonna hire a DC thats never been one before. All our other head coach;s hired OC with no experience, and they paid for it. Our new coach now made the same mistake with defence now he's paying for it. I'd like to see someone in there who has at least done it before and has been proven like Ted Cotrel for thought.

  7. I bet the house for the Patriots to win the superbowl vs the measly ol Giants. Pats were 13.5 pt favorites if i recall. Anything can happen on any given sunday

our defense will give them a run for their money varsity vs varsity, however our offense is like the 8th grade offense going against the varsity defense.

I am not saying in no way that were def gonna win sunday what im saying is i dont think its gonna be a blow out as all the pack fans are suggesting. If you want my honest opinion i think its gonna be a dog fight all the way to the. Dont forget we have a pretty good defence and some of the best db's in the game.I think it's gonna be close.

  8. Ive been going at it all day with Packers fans On espn all day. I got sick of reading all the bills bashing and decided to let them have it cause i.m a die hard bills fan and will stick up for are team. I.m the only bills fan on there so anybody who wants to help me out on there go to espn week 2 picks. Then scroll down to where you see where all the staff picked greenbay to win. Then click in the little box on the left that says buf vs greenbay then click on conversations. I,m Cuze32 on there. Some of you will probably think i'm crazy but dammit somebody's gotta stick up for are team

  9. I went through a toll booth on 90 to pay my toll. I removed my seatbelt to get some change out of my pocket and when i took off a state trooper popped out from behind the toll booth told me to pullover and gave me a ticket for no seatbelt. The way the !@#$ was acting i thought i was pulled over for murdering somebody. SO watch yourself the states broke and there taking it out on us.

  10. So to summarize, the Bills are coming off a 6-10 season that had 20+ on IR, and a rookie OC with and an inept Head Coach (for most of the season). They come into this year with the same, if not a little better talent overall, and are being talked about as one of the worst teams ever!!

CG can only take that as a complete dismassal of his ability as a head coach, and I am sure the players know that. I think this team is going to be playing with a collective chip on their shoulder all year, which will only raise their level of play. The only positive that could be said about DJ is that the players would show up for him every week. Of course, we all know he had no clue what to do with them once they got there. I think CG did a very positive thing on building that us against the world mentality when he blasted those fans at training camp. Even more helpful is the fact that the players have expressed optimism on his approach to the game.

A team always plays better when they feel they have something to prove. Their talent is clearly not championship level, but I think they will be out to prove they are not the worst team ever each week, and are going to suprise a lot of people. beginning this week.

I to am sick of all the bashing of the bills going on. I some how envision ol Chan in the locker room sunday foaming at the mouth and before they leave the locker room Chan picking up a chair and smashing it up against the black board saying let's go kick there fuc*ing as*.

  11. Amongst the Bills many glaring holes, the one that stands out the most to me is a pass rusher. Counting on the front the 3 to provide anything more than a push inside is a bit to optimistic.

So that leaves the OLB's, who are all transitioning from DE and have proven to be terrible pass rushers. Sure Maybin (Which is no excuse) is young but if Chris Ellis(0 sacks in 2 seasons) was a threat he would have played the last 2 years. Reggie Torbor.....is Reggie Torbor. So that leaves Chris Kelsay, who has to have pictures of the front office in a Caligula type situation, as the only other guy with an NFL sack.

I realize that the 3-4 is about coming from different angles and not just about bring pressure from the outside, but this will create 1 on1 situations with Kelsay/Ellis/Maybin on RB's and TE's and that is a recipe for disaster.

I'm not sure how a guy like Bobby Mccray, who was banged up most of last year, is not brought into to at least get a look!

This is going to be a very frustrating year because I truly think this offense is going to score but I just don't think that the Bills are going to stop the pass. It's not about secondary, it'll be about the rush. I just don't understand how this wasn't addressed at all during the offseason/draft/current FA period. :wallbash:With Mitchell and Torbor not playing sunday are pass rush only gets worse.

Mitchell seems to be a rather average LB, play in and play out. But he does have a knack of making big plays when it counts.

To bad Mitchell isn.t playing sunday.

  12. I can't wait for the game this weekend i'm really pumped. I got 50 yard line seats 16 rows up behind the bills bench. I can't stand the dolphins or there dick face coach i mean i can't even stand the sight of that guy. I hope we kick the liven sh*t out of them. I think Spiller's gonna run all over them dirty rotton co*k suckers, then will see what there dickface coach Mike Shoop John Clayton and all them other a** holes that predict were only gonna win 2 games this year think of that.We don't have any respect from anybody dammit and thats gonna change this week mark my words.

  13. What do you guy's think of all the idiot numskull sport's writer's predicting we only win 3 to 5 games this year. After following this team hard since the ota's and preseason i think if we stay healthy i predict 9-7 record with a shot at playoffs. I know it's a big if but to only win 3 games what the f##k.

  14. I'm not sure i'm sold yet that he should be are number 2 receiver. Don't get me wrong i like the guy and think he has a lot of upside but i just haven't seen him do much this preseason to warrant that.I think Chad Jackson has shown him up thus far in preseason and i wouldn't be suprised if Chad Jackson runs with the first team sometime this preseason.Anybody else thinking the same thing? GO BILLS.

  15. Everyone here is pulling for brohm a lot recently it seems after last night. You would of thought he threw 4tds and 300 yards last night by this board. In actuallity, he did a little more than nothing. 14/21 for what, 125 yards against second string? Fitz played better the first game. In fact, do we realize he didnt play AT ALL in the first preseason game? Because why? Because Trent/Fitz outplayed him to that point. Hes third on the depth chart.

What last night makes him second or first on the depth chart? Fitz and trent have thrown tds, he hasn't. In fact he hasn't thrown one his whole career.

He even got into camp before trent at fitz during rookie camp, and theyre still ahead of him.

Wake up and smell the coffee, his only chance is the #2. At best. Trent is a better quarterback.

But all in all, Go Bills

Yeah i,m with ya. I'm so sick of hearing about all this Brohm **** it's not even funny. I posted last week where people were talking about him being the starter as if he lit it up somewhere else before he came here. He's done nothing i mean nothing anywhere and if he has please clue me in.
