  1. After the second qtr of Super Bowl 25 after he was smashed a few times going over the middle he alligator armed a few his way during the game...He stopped goinig over the middle..He was taken out of the game by getting hit enough times to not want to pay the price anymore..The Giants effectively took that weapon away from Kelly..Hope that explains it enough..I have it on VHS still and have tortured myself over a 100 times watching and disecting the game along with the other 3 losses..He did make a living going over the middle during the regular season and early rounds of the playoffs..But when he needed to shine the most he became a dull nightlite..You just dont make the HOF doing it..thats my only fault with Andre..He choked on the biggest stage moreso than most other Bills in my eyes..(excluding Norwood):w00t:

Norwood didn't choke. Frank Reich did. Look at the laces again. They were pointing in the same direction as the kick.

  2. Best part was when he slid into the camera

    I don't get it.

It was horrible at best. He can't sing a lick and the music was unrecognizable.

I don't see how people think he was any good. It was excruciatingly painful to listen.

It was Grace Slick who once said there's nothing more embarrassing than watching 50 year old men playing Rock'n'Roll.

    She hit the jackpot here!

(and I was a big Boss fan in the 70s so no bias here)

  3. A little aggrivated so here is the brak down

    Phill sims 14 years 2576-4647 55.4% 199 tds 157 ints 78.5 passer rating 2 pro bowls

    Jim kelly 10 years 2874-4779 60.1 % 237 TDS 175 INT 84.4 passer rating 5 pro bowls

Is he stating because phill simms giants won two Superbowls and one of them was against the Bills in which he didnt play that hes a better QB. :wallbash:

No, he didn't give credit to Phil for the second SB. He just thought he was a better QB. Personally, I saw phil play a lot--I thought he stunk for the better of half his career. Jimbo had bad games, but Phil had baaaad years!

  4. How in the world is this important. Kelly is in the hall. That is the end of story. I'm sure there are a few thousand people throughout Miami who share his feelings, but does that affect you? Do you want everyone to think Kelly belongs in the hall?

How in the world is anything posted on this board important? Why is your post important? It's not...I hate when people ask that. It's an "opinion" board. Anything can be posted. It's just a topic of discussion, nothing more, nothing less.

  5. I just wished we had a true reciever on our team period. Lee evans is nothing more than a number two guy. I have love for the guy to he is an excellent deep threat receiver. Seriously he is nothing more than that, I would like him to be a smith, or a fitgerald having the combination of speed and wr posseion capability but hes not and it doesnt apper he will hes only good at running down the field and catching the ball as he blows by the slower corners in the leaugue.

No, I think Lee runs great routes and has excellent hands. He just isn't strong enough or consistent enough to break double teams. But, I agree, he is NOT a bonafide #1.

  6. I listen to him enough to know there's a 99% chance you're misquoting him.

He has said over and over again he's a harsher judge than most for the HOF.

He has also told Simms on his show that he wouldn't vote for him.

I didn't misquote him. He said Kelly does not belong in the HOF as well as Len Dawson,

He said Phil does and was the better QB. Almost a direct quote.

  7. I started watching some old Bills highlights on youtube and I remembered all over again just how good he was...he was a master at running over the middle on crossing routes and creating an angle that made the DB think he could make a tackle and they would get close, but just couldn't quite get there, usually lunging out with one hand to try and tackle Reed as he angled away from him...It truly was remarkable at just how good he was at doing this, it looks like the DB is in position to make the play and then Reed takes this angle and the DB ends up diving or lunging at him as he runs right by them and in many cases into the endzone....

I really wish we had a guy on our current Bills teams that could run patterns across the middle like that...it would make Evans SO much more effective as a deep threat...

You see the last Larry Fitzgerald touchdown in the Superbowl....Andre Reed invented that.

People on this board who say Reed was good to very good have no idea.

  8. Very good WR...I am not sure he was one of the best...I hope he gets in, though!!

Very good? Eric Moulds was very good. Reed was great. Problem with Andre was his surly attitude and mental breakdowns.

He was the AFC premier receiver during the early 90s--what else do you need to be? It will probably take him two to three more years. He was better than Art Monk.

  9. Only 3 teams were willing to offer a 3rd rounder

AND Buffalo was one of the teams

Look, he is going to go somewhere, I think that possibility is real.

If we are going to talk about trades, We know Buffalo had some interest in Tony Gonzalas.

The rumors started by the KC press that he didn't want to come to Buffalo are nothing more then that, RUMORS

Perhaps some draft day maneuvering by both teams with draft picks and or players.

Until Tony Gonzalas is traded, Buffalo is still in the game.

    DIE HARD 1967

I think Tony Gonzalez would retire before coming to Buffalo, truth be told. If he was traded here, I would

think he would look forward to coaching his children in Pee Wee football which he considers one step up than playing for the Buffalo Bills.

  10. it was not stop andre reed! the game plan was for the giants to run the ball and have time consuming drives to keep the bills offense off the field as evidenced by the 8 minute drive before the half and the 10 minute drive to start the 3rd quarter. im sorry this board is way to myopic. to sit here and say that andre desrves to get in over chris carter this year is absurd. the stats dont lie guys. i am not stating that andre reed wasnt great but he is going to be waiting an awfully long time to get into the hall with tim brown and jerry rice coming up in the next few years

YES, IT WAS! I saw Parcells says it on an interview years ago! That's why they went to the two/three man front. They wanted to take Reed out of the game physically. I agree with the rest of your post, however.

  11. Not just a woman, she's undoubtedly more woman than you'll ever know.

But then, so is Rosie O'Donnell, so that's not saying much.

One of the other posters posted me that your wife is a real skank.

I hear she's the choo-choo on the TBD train.

When do i get a shot? I like to fist her from both sides.

  12. I like to think of myself as relatively aware of these things. My parents are at polar opposites of the political spectrum, so I wasn't really raised to be a herd-following sheep (in either direction) like a lot of my classmates. My Mom made sure that I knew MSNBC was full of liars with an agenda, and my Dad made sure I knew Fox News was full of liars with an agenda.

The one time I did have a professor that blatantly pushed an agenda (American Lit prof that was obsessed with painting white people as the devil for the treatment of Native Americans), I lost a lot of respect for him.

Your parents are doing a good job.

  13. My professors haven't affected me in any way politically, and they aren't spreading propaganda. They stick to the topics which pertain to their classes. We don't discuss politics. You shouldn't hold a grudge against an entire profession just because one of them screwed you over.

I was referring to Social Science teachers, of course.

And I'm not being condescending because you have been tolerant of me, but are you sure you would know if they weren't spreading propaganda?

  14. Not being a woman you wouldn't know. I don't think you're much of a man either. But a PARROT - definitely. How's Rush today?

For the record I have mentored many women professionally and it's a credit to me when they succeed. And several of them are - wait for it - conservative women who even voted for George Bush! Wow. How about that.

    So, you wanna cracker?

I know more than a few women who would disagree with you. But, rumor has it you wouldn't know what's that like.

  15. No, it's not your fault. But it's not their fault either. From a historical perspective, American blacks are largely impoverished urban dwellers because of the lousy situation they were in post-slavery...the viscious cycle of poverty leaves them there today. Due to that, yes, I believe the scales ought to be tipped a little in their favor.

By the way, why do the majority of conservatives on this board seem to despise college students, and young people in general?

No, we feel sorry for you. We despise your professors. They are making the youth very angry and telling you lies and propaganda. It started when I went to college in R.I. Right before i graduated, I asked my political science teacher for a recommendation (because he was a good friend of my roommate-they did dj thing at the campus radio station). He told me "No,"--he didn't know if he could trust one going into society with my political leanings. I said, Prof--can I tell you something? He said, "What?," thinking perhaps a major transformation in me was about to occur. I said, "Go !@#$ yourself!" I got my only C ever and I went into the final with an 87 average. True story.

  16. There are tons of examples of right-leaning women, Peggy Noonan comes to mind, so does my own mother, applauding Hillary Clinton.

Show me one left-leaning women who has praised Palin, other than Greta Van Sustren.

As usual, you can't seem to get your amplification right. If 1000 media/political women crush Palin, and 1 women says something good, it is not "the same" as 100 women crushing Hillary and 200 saying something good, just because there are women on both sides of the issue.

Typical liberal argument tactic. Liberals are very talented at this deceitful form of debate to sway the innocent and meek.

They are inately wired this way when they hatch the shell from their alien pod or it could simply be a form of MSNBC osmosis.

    Good catch.

  17. It's meant to be a tool to help even the playing field in terms of college admissions for black students, the great majority of whom don't have the advantages of extra curricular activities and SAT prep courses. A black student often has a less impressive college resume than a white student of equal intelligence because he had fewer advantages in his school system. Affirmative action does its best to make things a little more fair. I'm not saying it's a perfect system, but to call it discrimination toward white kids is just plain wrong.

It goes way beyond college. It affects employment in all circles: just look at the Rooney rule.

  18. So...is this thread an example of you obsessing, or not obsessing, about Palin? I gotta be honest, when I signed on here just now Palin was the furthest thing from my mind...until you brought it up...again.

Are are you contributing to the "successful women either can't stand other successful women or always see them as a threat" thinking? Anymore it's really getting difficult to say that thinking doesn't exist. I just observed it in my work, again, last week, and that makes the 5th time in the last 2 months.

Regardless, I think it's safe to say that the main threat to success for women is now far and away: other women. Which is nice because I'm tired of being told I am responsible for things I don't even think/care about, much less do.

Women only can't stand other successful women if they don't suit their leftist pro-choice agenda. That's when it 's a threat.

  19. I can't TOTALLY disagree, but have you ever played sports? And if you did, did you ever play with that much heart and passion? I agree dumb penalty, but he was clearly beyond himself...the guy was getting molested on EVERY play and nothing was being called. It was out of sheer frustration that he acted the way he did.

I still play ball with as much passion...people still complain and they're not anywhere near the competitive level or pressure that Reed was on then. Sad you judge a man's entire career on a single play, but that's yours to deal with.

There is some truth to what the poster said about his dumb penalty. That game was completely officiated against us and Andre was frustrated. But, he ALSO did that same very thing in the Miami playoff game (w/Flutie) as well--another game completely officiated against us.

But to call him a 'very good' player is also doing him injustice.

My point is if he doesn't get in it will because of his surly personality not because of his ability.
