Is going to hold out. This pick is looking better all the time! Lori and Dean Jauron, quick, spin this into a positive. And the rest of the Jauron Desiples. 7-9, 7-9, 7-9...........16-0?

Buffalo?? Great Defense?? This Year??...-lets shoot for good. That would be huge. Great? ...maybe in 010 or 011 if we get more front 7 help.
This is why I said let's try to stay on topic. I wasn't asking about 2010,11 season.
-
I apreciate the link..but still am curious who the fans think will start. If I had to guess I would say Bowen. Possibly Harris. 60/40.
-
But who should start as our OLB? To me this is the weakest position on our team, Can anybody see us honestly having a great Defense with Ellison starting at OLB. Now let's try to stick to the topic this time.

From what I here I think he will make the 53 man roster.........Just my take
-
Stupid.
You were a better poster when you weren't posting.
Actually crapbiscuit his post was right on. Especially the part about "experts" think he is good because they recall he was picked in the top 10. Crap Biscuit you and Michael Irvin have the same line of thinking. Did you just buy the crack or smoke it to?

Will you PLEASE go eat some crayonz.....

I recommend this article (linked on the front of TBD) for those who believe Whitner will play FS and only FS this season:
http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-3...44-3da5c8a3182b
Excerpt:
If Byrd is ready to start at some point in the season, Donte will be back at SS (assuming he is healthy). Donte's position moves have never been about a problem with Donte. They are about utilizing Donte's versatility to fill the most pressing hole, and get the best combo of available DBs in the field.
So that basically said he's even confident he will lose his job to a rookie. Nice post deano, way to back up your claim about how whitner doesn't suck. By the way your post sucks to!

We have a bunch of Bills haters in the press talking about nothing. We had a great draft, revamped our O-line and picked up the highest producing WR over the past 3 years. Dallas didn't win any SB with T.O. either but they can buy anyone they want and we have their best offensive weapon now. Stroud was a weapon last year, POZ our highest producing tackler, we now have a new great first stepper in Maybin and have a few healthy people coming back.
I attribute all of this to our current coaching staff and give 0 credit outside of it. I see bigger things for us this year and the light will finally shine on Buffalo instead of the usual suspects. DJ, Russ and crew get this season to put it all together, they have my support, the bigger question is do they have yours?
Your hear it because they do suck

Don't forget, this weeks meeting will be held at 2, so we can allow more time for people to enjoy the long weekend

New Hampshirebills answer to my post:
A) 1.) We don't need "leaders" guaranteeing the playoffs, and then in the season finale after we don't make the playoffs getting flattened by a career 3rd down running back. He got ran over like a waitress in the way of Rosie Odonnel and a Pizza Hut Buffet.
His Reply:
B) "Anyone gets beat on some plays." - HAHAHAHAHA. Lori couldn't have put it any better herself. There it is in a nutshell.
That is not getting beat, that is getting embarrassed by a 31 year old 220 pound 3rd down running back!
A) The person who calls it like it happened=Me
B) The loser mentality shared by Dick Jauron and most of this board.
-
Four reasons not to trade Whitner:
1.) He is one of the very few true leaders on this team and leadership is very important in football.
2.) You don't trade a player just because he may have been drafted too high.
3.) At this point he is good enough to start for this team so a trade would leave us with a less qualified replacement on the field.
4.) He doesn't even have a high salary that would be erased if he left.
Four reasons to trade Whitner otherwised known as Coy Wire.
1.) We don't need "leaders" guaranteeing the playoffs, and then in the season finale after we don't make the playoffs getting flattened by a career 3rd down running back. He got ran over like a waitress in the way of Rosie Odonnel and a Pizza Hut Buffet.
2.) Boy George could put up better stats and make more plays than Wire......I mean Whitner.
3.) He is 6th round talent that we feel obligated to start because we wasted a 1st rounder on.
4.) He gets tasered outside of nightclubs far to often.

And YOU should be thankful she doesn't just delete your drivel and do the board a big favor...
Ohhhhhhhh. Lurker you loser, stop sucking up. So if i don't agree with the masses (who by the way wouldn't dream of ever second guessing a 7-9 ,3 years running football team) I should be kicked off the board?
-
Yeah, because I'm obviously one of Jauron's biggest fans here.
Ask anyone who saw me in Lot 1 after the Browns game about that one ...
It only took you 3 years, and a blown monday night football game to realize he is a loser. You are QUICK

It shouldn't suprise anyone that Lori and the Dean would talk like Dick Jauron, considering their names are Lori and Dean Jauron. Keep up the insightful posting, you guys are the best! And keep buying those season tickets so everyone else has to pay $75 dollars a ticket to watch a 7-9 team.
-
Yeah man, 2.5 catches and 26.5 yard per game are totally Jerry Rice like!
I think you missed the "when matched up against Whitner"part, pal. And if everyone defends every starter on this team how come we have finished 7-9 three seasons in a row? Whitner could never be part of the problem. Throw out Whitner's horrible stats, the fact that the team has not had a winning record in 5 years, the fact that Jaurons coaching record is 57-77 with 0 playoff wins, and the fact that we haven't made the playoffs in 10 years, this organazation is on the right track!
I honestly, truely believe a custodial manager at Arby's could run this team better than Ralph.
-
Whitner reminds me of the old fable about the emperor who had no clothes. An entire community of Bills fans says this guy is good, that he could be elite, etc. And everyone conveniently overlooks the fact that his only highlight reel plays consist of him being draped over the back of some 260 lb 4.9 forty running caucasian tight end in the end zone.
Wait since we don't watch the game we couldn't have seen Anthony Fasono looking like Jerry Rice when matched up against Whitner. Lori I suggest you look at some film if you don't understand why I compare Whitner to Coy Wire. Just because one is white and the other is black doesn't mean they can't have similar styles of lackluster underwhelming play. I think that the fact you run this board speaks volumes about the kind of people this board attracts. Most of your comments seem very simple-minded. And I always see you copy and paste Tim Grahams replies and adding your own simple kiss ass reply. Sorry but it needed to be said.
-
That's a gem.
You can have any opinion you want on Whitner and by all means at best the jury is still out on him, but when you compare him to Coy Wire, a linebacker-turned-safety-turned-linebacker, I have to laugh. Wire was a fringe player and STer in his best days with the Bills, while Donte has been a starter pretty much since day one.
There's no sense in being vindictive towards a player because he was drafted high and doesn't play up to the expectations you had for him on draft day. What about the story of Josh Reed? The guy was almost run out of town and since then he's gotten better and better to the point now where he is a very reliable receiver. These guys are all assets and to advocate cutting ties with them because you don't think they were worth their draft slot, while not taking into account what they do well, is poor management.
I love the blind faith of this board. I'm also glad to see all of Dick Jaurons relatives are members. Ok because Bill Belichick Jr. has decided to start Donte Whitner for the past 3 years he must be deserving. Donte Whitner does not remind me of Coy Wire, he is Coy Wire. Except I remember Wire being a better tackler than Whitner to be honest. At least he had a little fire when he played. On 31 other teams who didn't have the burden of wasting a #8 pick on Coy Wire's twin, he would be a back-up linebacker(not even safety)/Special teams player. And you can take that to the bank, the blood bank.

People who don't understand how our defense works and Whitner's role in our defense make me want to... :censored: :wallbash:
Perhaps if Whitner wasn't playing 3 or 4 yards from the line of scrimmage on most plays, he could be better in the passing game?
Ed Reed wouldn't get interceptions either if he was being asked to do what Whitner has been...
Im sorry your right, the coaching staff does not want Whitner to make plays or cover the tight ends so they don't blow by him everytime. And that 2 interceptions in three years is problably 2 more than the coaching staff wouldve liked. Since you seem to know that the coaching staff does not want him to make plays, Is his role in the defense to get tasered at night clubs?
As you and Dick Jauron would say "Of course we wouldve liked him not to have screamed when he hit the floor, but that's part of getting tasered. Hopefully we can improve on it for next time. He showed a lot of effort when he was rolling around on the ground for a minute there. It's a learning process and we as coaches have to have patience."
-
The most vivid memories I have of Donte Whitner up to this point in his career are watching mediocre tight ends run right by him, or him draped on their back as they go up and catch the ball over the deep middle. I can honestly say I do not have a bias when it comes to Whitner. I was hoping he would step up his game last season. But lets face it, a #8 pick in the draft 4 years ago with 2 career interceptions, who makes no big plays is at this point a bust. Some might not agree but if I could compare him to one player it would be Coy Wire. Always just a half step late on all of his coverage but a decent tackler. Bryd can not possibly be less dynamic than Whitner.
My thought is that much of the league has not caught on to the fact that he stinks. (ESPN line of thinking, that most front offices use. "I've heard of him") So I say we let him go through training camp, hope a starting safety for another team gets injured, and try to get a 3rd round pick. Before everyone else realizes all he can do is tackle. Trade him this year or else all we will be able to get for him is a Losman jersey and a half eaten bag of Lays potatoe chips.

Maybe I'm missing something here but you weren't even a member on this board when we were 4-0, so how do you say you can recall that WE all got upset?? Not that you're wrong, because a lot of homers were calling SuperBowl, but still......
O this is ur doublewide way of not being insulting. Kinda like sayn im not tryn to be a dick but........im gona say something dickish. U should probly stick to what your good at, and im guessing thats not washing your wrangler jeans.
