  1. We sat in Red Zone for 4 years when they were first built. Very Comfy-too comfy....we got used to NO ELEMENTS that are part of a game-they checked your coats, brought you all the food, had special buffets, etc. The seats are corner, not that great. After awhile you realize that no matter how loud you were at any time, NO ONE can hear you. The glass never opens. Left there and went to Kelly club-sitting outside, but at least if kids get really cold, they can warm up inside.

Best story about Red Zone- the players' families watched from there-Bruce's, Andre's- had to watch what you said!

  2. Brandon helped us steal $78 million from Toronto and prove they aren't a NFL threat; consistently is hiring guys (like Nix) to improve operations; and just sold out an entire season of a 5-10 team that hasn't made the playoffs in a decade in a declining rust belt city.

He is better at his job than you are at yours. <_<

:flirt: Couldn't have said it better.....Brandon knows how to market....his new position is where he should have been all along.

  3. We had iron clad rights to Kelly so he wasn't going anywhere. Peters quit on his team. You don't reward players who quit on you. Ask any Philly fan if they think Peters is worth $11M.

As for Shanahan, what guarantee do you get for your $50M? You think he's some kind of miracle worker? He had Elway when arrived with the Broncos and he left the team in flames when he left. As far as I can tell Shanahan has never had to build a team from the bottom, so why are you so convinced he can do the job, much less acting as his own GM?

I would prefer someone who doesn't act like WNY is some kind of sinkhole.

    PTR

I agree....and I always thought that Shanahan was a GREAT coach, but a very poor judge of talent at the draft...is that true?Wouldn't want him to have all the keys to the kingdom.....

  4. And throwing up against a wall until dead.

The other nice thing is that they hammered out the "breeding dogs" teeth so they wouldn't bite, before clamping them in the rape stands. And the acid--can't forget those. No evidence that Vick actually used the hammers in those cases but all that stuff was on the property. If he didn't do it, he certainly knew about it.

As to the press conference, Vick is on a script. I find it unconvincing. Do you honestly see remorse in him? I see a guy who wants his $$ back. If he says he made a "mistake" one more time, I may go postal.

U are right. There was no remorse shown. He was carefully rehearsed (except for the word "gratification"-now he sounds like emmitt smith) and is only sorry because he got caught. He lied to the owner, the commissioner and the press until the evidence was uncovered. 5 years of this behavior (what kind of person thinks up all these ways to torture animals?) should not be forgotten by a prison sentence. Glad Buffalo didn't pull the trigger on this one-what a distraction Philly is in for....And for the people that are comparing the signing of T.O. to this is delusional. T.O. is not nor ever was a sadistic criminal. Let's hope he's a good receiver.

  5. That was fairly entertaining. Obviously T.O. can be a very cool, poised, intelligent, thoughtful, and witty person when he wants to be. I know he's always good for a quote because he can be controversial but I continue to be amazed at how articulate he is.

Meanwhile I heard on The Dan Patrick Show that Owens' heir apparent in Dallas, Roy Williams, is now refusing to speak to the media. He's probably all bent out of shape due to that story a few weeks ago about never seriously lifting weights. The lightning rod has left the building and it'll be interesting to see how the Cowboys respond without being able to scapegoat Owens anymore.

And he came across better than anybody expected.....after the Reality Show airs, there prob. won't be a ticket available for any game. It's the media attention he will probably attract to the Bills. It sure will be fun (until he starts to suck....).

  6. :thumbsup::w00t:

But, it's cash only, so make sure you bring some!! Get the big one, too... My GA born wife makes me drive out there to get her a Beef on Weck every time we're in Buff. We've talked about moving back up there and, if and when we do, she's dead set on EA for two reasons... Bar Bill & family down the road.

Your are right- Bar Bills in E.A. and Eckl's in O.P.

    Even Buffalo Spree agrees....

  7. I grew up in Amherst but have never been there. When I was living in that area, one place that was always mentioned as having great wings was Rootie's Pump Room on Stahl near Millersport. They were excellent and always had framed newspaper articles from all the entertainment mags reviewing their wings. Funny no one on any of these threads has mentioned them. Are they still in business because that place used to always be busy and the wings were awesome.

Big Tree Inn has good wings also.

One seriously great place for wings, fingers, fries (steak fries) and beef on weck is McBee's Old Time Tavern at 3284 Sheridan Drive in Amherst. It's in a plaza near the corner of North Bailey. They have an old wooden bar from NYC and lots of old booths. I guess it's like that place on Transit, Brennan's in that it's in a plaza but when you walk in, you feel transformed back into time. Anyways, the food is excellent and the beer is served in big frosted mugs.

I also mentioned Bar Bill Tavern in East Aurora. Excellent food, ambience, wings, and beer in frosted mugs.

Definitely Bar Bills- we stop there on the way to O.P. for the Bill's home games. Better than Anchor (and better than anything in New Jersey).

  8. Theres been allot of complaining about our current situation about the Stadium.

Ive been to very few stadiums but id like to point out that "The Ralph" to me is one of the better stadiums.

    Ive been to;

Jacksonville which i think is the worst

Tampa... which is one of the better ones to me. Family Friendly and right down the road from Mons Venus (when no family)

    Minnesota... SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS

Atlanta... Its ok for a dome

    KC... UGH

    Charlotte... Pretty Nice

    Tennessee... similar to Charlotte

Buffalo.... to me still one of the best! Keep in mind its "FREE"

    Comments???

Buffalo's Stadium is still one of the best- Candlestick is weird-some seats are on odd angles. The Meadowlands is by far one of the worst I've ever been in. Dark halls, dank, generally like an old garage. And the crowd didn't help my impression.....

  9. I am thinking about faxing my CV to the Bills if they officially announce that Jauron is done.

:worthy: How about Mangini? He was basically screwed by the Farve hire and lost control to the NFL future HOF 'er . Down here in NYC area, more fans seem to blame St.Brett for the failure of the Jets. Eric might just be a better fit for a young team....any thoughts?

  10. I've decided it's all a curse. Someone sometime in the not too distant past cursed the city of Buffalo. We could trade for the entire Patriots or Giants teams, en masse, and they'd still find a way to lose in some agonizingly heart-breaking way because the city is cursed. What we need is an exorcist.

Yeah, the Stadium is built on ancient Indian Burial Grounds: would that be characterized as a "CURSE"?

  11. Okay I live in VA and I am thinking about getting season tickets next year. Now I will not be able to make it to all games because of the distance about 10 hours. I have family in Albany that I could probably sell the tickets to when I dont go. I guess my question to season ticket holders, how far do you drive to get to the games? And am I crazy for wanting to buy tickets when I am so far away? Any input would be helpful.

I have had season tickets for 15 years- we stay for the weekend in OP>

The drive is about 7 hours to stadium from where we live in NJ. To us it is worth the drive (and we do stay for free) because the alternative is the Jets or Eagles.......BOO!
