  1. Not a surprise, but ESPN NFL Live guys just reported that Cowher is interested in listening to the Jets for their opening at head coach and that Pioli is planning on interviewing in Cleveland for GM.

    Super duper...

    AFC East coaches next year:

    Pats - Belichick

    Dolphins - Sparano

    Jets - Cowher

Bills - super sweet Jauron and an "inner circle" promotion of out-of-state resident Modrak

Oh yes, multiple years of futility ensues...

Bing in Marty today....at least it gives us a punchers chance against these guys!

  2. Jauron should have been the FIRST coach fired. Maybe, just maybe, Ralph is trying to work a way to get out of the extension. Maybe I'll start my SUV and $100 bills will shoot out of the tail pipe.

ESPN reporting that Cowher will listen to the Jets. Cowher, Belichek, Parcells all in the division vs. JAURON.....he needs to go today....bring in Marty, at least it gives us a punchers chance against some of the best minds in the NFL.

  3. 56-73....that speaks for itself....It really sucks that we have to go through the hiring of another head coach, but what other option do we have?

We are really starting to look and feel like the Cardinals franchise.....UGH!

  4. This is over 40 years old. Is there no statute of limitations on this gesture of good will.

Out of 48 years of football, the Bills have made the playoffs 17 years and 8 of those years they were one and done. Let's face it, outside of the 64-65 championships teams, which most of us including myself don't remember(I was only 6) and the Kelly era, there have been few bright spots in the franchises history. Ralph should thank his lucky stars that the county, community businesses and the fan base continue to support him in a big way while he rolls around in the money he has made during his time as the Bills owner.

I can't wait for the day the Bills have a new owner and IMO, no they won't be leaving Buffalo when this happens.

Keeping the team in Buffalo was/is a huge positive, however the fact that he won't sell before he goes does not guarantee us a team for the future....He legacy will be tarnished forever if they leave after he goes, so he might as well sell now and reap the benefits while he is alive and let the team move on......

  5. At this point this resume looks pretty good to me......

    [edit] Marty Schottenheimer Coaching Tree

Schottenheimer was heavily influenced by Lou Saban, his first professional head coach in the American Football League. In turn, several current NFL Head Coaches trace their lineage back to Marty Schottenheimer on his Coaching tree:

Schottenheimer gave many Head Coaches their first coaching jobs. All of these coaches have coached under Schottenheimer:

    Bill Cowher, Pittsburgh Steelers

    Gunther Cunningham, Kansas City Chiefs

    Tony Dungy, Indianapolis Colts

Lindy Infante, Green Bay Packers (1988-1991)

    Mike McCarthy, Green Bay Packers

    Herman Edwards, Kansas City Chiefs

    Cam Cameron, Miami Dolphins

    Wade Phillips, Dallas Cowboys

His son Brian Schottenheimer is the New York Jets offensive coordinator and his younger brother Kurt Schottenheimer coaches the Green Bay Packers' secondary.

  6. Yes today's loss sucked. And going 1 & 5 in our last 6 sucked harder. But if Bills beat Miami next week, they will be:

    - tied with them at 7 & 6;

    - could also be tied with Pats if they lose to Seattle, which they could after today's brutal beating and needing to travel to west coast;

    - could be one game behind Jets as today could also the mark the beginning of a losing streak of their own given they also travel to west coast to play 9ers (who aren't all that bad, as we saw today).

Even if we win and Jets and Pats win, we're still very much in the thick of it as the week after we play the Jets. Win that and worst case we're a game behind them, likely ahead of Fins and tied with Pats. I could see us winning that too because although I like the talent the Jets have, I think they're coach Mangini is a fraud and could show his true colors down the stretch.

Win the next week against Broncos and I see us ahead of Pats who play Cards that week in what I think is a terrible mismatch for Pats secondary. And Fins should be well behind in our rear view mirror.

That sets up big showdown against Pats in Buffalo in last game of season. If it means everything is on the line, I could see Bills and their fans pulling one out and stealing the AFC east. And of course a 10 & 6 record gives us a good chance of capturing the wild card in the (I think) unlikely scenario we run the table from here and don't win the division. Running the table almost certainly puts us no worse than 2nd in AFC east, which means the wildcard competition comes from outside the division from Colts and Ravens. I am willing to concede Colts one of those spots, but I think Ravens are headed for a meltdown now with Skins, Steelers, Cowboys and Jags their remaining games. So I'd say 10&6 gives us 50/50 chance of catching them too.

I know it's a long shot us winning out, but hey that would be the attitude of a perenial winning franchise like Steelers or Colts right now. They'd say hey guys, let's get on a roll now, be physical, and take these next 4 and I like our chances. That's the exact attitude Bills need right now, otherwise they are doomned, not just this year, but every year until they adopt that approach.

This is why we are fans....and why I will stay a fan....and I pray this will play out like you have stated.....however, with the current state of affairs and with our man Dick at the helm this is more like a real good dream sequence!

  7. I know Trent and JP both were horrible yesterday, BUT.....Play calling and receiver play have something to do with the "holding the ball too long" theory.....The next time I here "that was a soft zone" or "that was a defense we had not seen on film"...Please! We have needed a playmaking WR opposite Evans for 5 years now....Also, while I am on a rant...Does anybody else see that our plays/receivers are hardly ever on the move when they catch the ball....we call more curl and stop routes than any NFL team I have ever seen...

Hey Ralph, PLEASE sell the team now, so we can move on.....

  8. Let Dick go right now and move on trying to establish ourselves as a legitimate NFL organization.

Hire a coach who has proven he can WIN in the NFL.....Jauron is a proven loser...living off one 13-3 season is incredible! I have never seen anything like it....the only one close is Norv Turner...How do these guys stay employed?

Hey Ralph...sell the team tomorrow so we can move on with our lives!

  9. To: Mr. Ralph Wilson

    From: The Buffalo Billl Fans

We have supported your business venture for years and years....thanks for keeping the team in Buffalo

THAT IS THE ONLY GOOD THING THAT YOU AND YOUR STAFF HAVE DONE IN THE PAST 10 YEARS!

    1. We do not have a GM.

    2. We have a CHEAP coaching staff of under qualified, proven losers.

    3. We have a bunch of mediocre players who play hard and try to represent your franchise as best as they can.

You need to get out of here as fast as you can......

PLEASE sell the team NOW, so we can get on with trying to compete in the National Football League

    Thanks

  10. Surely you mean wasted. And unless you can breakdown the situations under which EVERY timeout was used on Monday, it's completely unlikely that each one of them was used ERRONEOUSLY, AND as a result of Jauron.

We have no center, our quarterback has no confidence in the WR's with Reed out, and he's losing confidence in the O-line. Eventually professional athletes have to have SOME accountability!

You're being dramatic, season definitely not on the line. And the decision to run was based on the fact that a.) BOTH of our VERY SKILLED running backs were having their best games of the year, and b.) Trent was a total mess.

Season not on the line? Try to figure out how we can make the playoffs at this point....

  11. It is time for the end of the Jauron era. I have tried to give this guy the benefit of the doubt from day one....(good guy, paitient, just like Marv, guys like to play for him etc) but monday night showed ALL of his faults. Waisted time outs all over the place, the offense has gone from Excellent to good to adequate to Incredibly predictable to sometimes out and out BAD. We have NO playaction game, and can't run a decent screen play with guys like Lynch, Jackson and Parrish.

The end of the game was a total disgrace. I was sick to my stomach watching Marshawn run into the LOS three times in a row to set up a "chip shot" 47 yarder into the wind after midnight on a 20 degree night at the Ralph! Not only was the game on the line the SEASON was on the line!

This all being said, the problem lies with good OLD Ralph, love the guy for keeping us in Buffalo, but the fact that he won't spend a dime on a real qualified coach is mind boggling and totally disheartening. I love the Bills and will never give up, but this is getting harder and harder everyday.

    Lets go Buffalo!
