  1. For me it is simple, the sooner you realize that being a Bills fan is simply learning that your team will always come up short is a passage of life. I have been fooled for 40 years now in thinking this organization will turn it around and be a winner. I still watch out of intrigue, but i cannot deny last week when we scored, first thought is it was one play too soon. Who else in this league but a bills fan would think that.  Anyone who watched Wide Right and Music City miracle and well No Goal. Say what you want, just better to realize that someone is always a loser and unfortunately in big moments that is the City of Buffalo's Sports teams.

Bring on next season, already filled with Intrigue. Like who will back up Josh, who will call plays, hopefully who will call defensive plays, and lastly will thye build a dome!

  2. Best News I have heard in some time!  Dorsey can leave too and Take Fraizer with them! Dorsey did a great Job with Josh but his development is complete....  Dabol, is not tough enough to withstand the NY media..... He will fail.....and I won't be sad he did. It is exciting to see where the new direction can take us....Maybe some balance and not so many designed QB runs that put our franchise QB at risk. We got one good back in Devin....just need a play caller to give him some carries....Best bang for the buck on the roster in my opinion.

Fraizer, well I will say it like this.....YAWN!!!! Boring.....and a coward when the game is on the line.... 2 DEEP ZONE produced 2 major losses both this and last year in the final seconds.

  3. Nick Bosa, is a utter beast.....his motor and leverage is unequal in the nfl.  That said, discussion an edge rusher when we get limited pressure from the inside is not going to do much. We might have a chance is stone face Fraizer is offered a job elsewhere. MY concern is we have a great QB now and like the Kelly era, we may have  studs on Defense but the DC just is not good enough.I know people love to point out we were first in the league. I believe that is a product of a weak offensive schedule, bad weather games almost always in buffalo and the fact that Josh and the Offense usually puts the game away by mid 3rd quarter. During the Kelly super bowl era, Levy refused to replace Walt Cory, and it cost us dearly.

Do we know what we have in Edmunds? I am not sure, but he has a propensity to overrun plays and often takes on blocks he cannot shed..... Is he an impact player in the middle? Poyer and White are top notch, but get little respect in the media.Hard to trust McClappy, Stone Face, and Doughboy Dabol..... My wish is 2 of the 3 are gone. Give Mcdermott one more year, but if he cannot reach the bowl time for a new direction at the helm.

  4. YES YES YES, please get this overrated fat ass out of town! This team with Diggs, Allen, Knox and Singletary will be just fine under another coordinator. Dabol, goes to Tampa and never runs the dam ball in the first half.  I would have yanked his has out of the booth and got him a cab back to his house in Buffalo that night. The Pittsburgh game only featured runs by Allen.....Too much RPO and we lose.  The Jags game, wow really..... I know our Line was missing some players, but that is where the madness comes in, to continue to line up play after play with 5 People in patterns and a spread offense while Josh Allen(jags) destroys you is well definition of stupid. I cannot be the only person who has noticed a decline in the sweep and the WR jet sweep this season. I wont even go into the crazy go for it call at the end of the Titans game.

In his tenure here he  has shown he cannot adjust fast enough to what the other team is doing. When he gets a job to which he will fail miserably....Let me know I will go to his house and help him load the truck!

He has done nothing for our running game and if he stays every year takes another 2 years off of Allen career. Your QB cannot be the focus of the running game and play for 20 yrs!

That being said, today McKenzie should be the slot receiver he ate NE for lunch....but Beasley who I am a huge fan will get the nod....Sanders will start over Davis mistake......and 26 will probably get 2 carries.  That is what this artery clogged monster will roll out.

  5. Someone, please call 911 and have them search for the individual who posted this.....I think they overdosed on drugs! This team is barely alive...we can debate the reasons, but I fear last season was a mirage......We have a team that is a good practice team.....they beat  teams last season when no one was able to watch. Josh and Company need to prove they can do it in front of fans before I will feel differently. Good Teams do not lose 3 games at home.

While this season is one of parody and week to week results, the Bills fell to one gave over .500 in a game where they didn't look like they belonged on the same field for half the game.  As I look back on this season versus my previous seasons writing these, it's hard for me to tell if it's harder to write during a season of blown expectations or during the drought.  At least during the drought, we could focus on improvement and hope.  In this season, it's been more so about meeting expectations or letdowns.  At this point, it's very clear where the problems lay with this team and not it's only a matter of how the Bills will fix it in the off-season through personnel or coaching changes.

1 - Allen - I'm sure many will discuss the interception before the half, but even by that point in the game, it's almost impossible for me to blame Josh for much of anything he does.  Behind this offensive line where he was running for his life on almost every play, because Daboll can't seem to figure out how to block more than 5, and receivers that don't magically get open in less than 2 seconds, Josh is constantly being asked to make something out of nothing.  I'm not saying he doesn't have opportunities (high throws to the sideline) nor is he perfect, I'm just saying it's impossible to tell.  He had a great touchdown run off the RPO and had a solid completion percentage for a bit, but then was down 21 and had to start playing hero ball.  Josh is our entire offense and sets up the success of everyone else on the team.  His ability to move in the pocket brings up safeties and he actually avoided more sacks than the stat sheet will show . But it's unrealistic to expect him to carry this team on his own.  I feel good knowing that, no matter what changes happen on this team, we have our QB to build around.

2 - Daboll - Coming into this game, you knew thew Bucs could do one thing well on defense, and that was rush the passer.  With that being said, why did Daboll leave only 5 players in to block so much?  More so, with the amount of DB blitzes, leave Motor in the backfield as extra pass protection.  I say Motor very specifically because Breida got absolutely run over when he tried to make a block.  McKenzie ran a Jet Sweep threat only one time which pretty much sums up Daboll's attempt to confuse the defense, move the pocket, or do anything at all to slow down the Bucs pass rush.  While we did get it going in the second half, there's still no excuse for the first half performance or the 3 and out in OT.  I don't feel like this team has any "go to" plays anymore and there's no overall theme on offense.  Each drive and 3rd down play feels like a toss up.  This has been an ongoing theme this past month and it's one thing to just get beat up front, it's another to not plan for it at all.

3 - Running backs in the first half -

4 - I seem to recognize your face
Haunting familiar, yet I can't seem to place it
Cannot find the candle of thought to light your name
Lifetimes are catching up with me
    All these changes taking place
I wish I'd seen the place
But no one's ever taken me

5 - Defensive Line - I almost labeled this thought pass rush, but that would indicate that the Bills have one.  Brady had literally all day to throw and this 40 million dollar defensive line with multiple first round pics was beyond pathetic in this game.  You can see the frustration brewing from the players and Oliver is a ticking time bomb of a personal foul.  I've been able to tolerate McD's rotation on the line, but we aren't able to rush the passer or stop the run with these guys and aren't getting a ROI.  Groot has been non-existent since the first few weeks.  Addison's had one good game, and threw in an offside in this game.  Hughes is the kind of almost sacks and missed holding calls.  Oliver is high motor, undisciplined, and I'm waiting for more PFs against him.

6 - Zone Defense - While Poyer and Hyde are great safeties, how were they left to cover Godwin and Evans so much?  I understand that Tre is out and we need to compensate to a degree, but our great passing defense gave up over 200 passing yards in the first half, with each pass looking to fall right in front of either safety.  Also, with zero pass rush, zone defense is only good if you force the QB to make bad reads and throw into coverage.  With Brady having all day, it was surgical how easily he picked us apart.  As we transitioned to the second half, it does look like we started playing man, and saw more success.  With that, shout out to Dane Jackson for playing well 1 on 1 in coverage against Gronk.

7 - Edmunds - With this thought, I will be retiring any future comments about Edmunds, as I'm just over him as a player.  While Milano didn't have a great game, I can at least remember seeing him on the field (Brady sack was beautiful) with some big tackles and pass knock downs.  Edmunds had one good tackle in the open field against Gronk.  Other than that, Edmunds was just a big bodied player in the middle of the field who occupies space.  Edmunds got engulfed by blocks, couldn't beat a man when rushing the passer, took terrible angles on both Fournette long runs and overall invisible.  He did start to play better in the second half, but he's no where near a play maker or worthy of his draft selection.  I don't blame the game winning touchdown on him, but I do blame him for the converted 3rd and 1 in OT.  Edmunds was clearly behind the LOS and still allowed Fournette to get 2 yards from the point of contact.  When we need a hero, it continues to not be him.

8 - Knox - If there's a bright spot this season, it has to be the emergence of Knox in this offense.  Needing to forget his terrible play last week, Knox was decent on the plays he was left in to block and scored one of our only two passing touchdown of the game.  With that catch, he leads the NFL in touchdown passes by a TE.  In an upcoming off-season where a lot of touch decisions are going to be made, TE is no longer one of the positions we need to worry about.

9 - McD - I want to give McD props for clearly getting involved with the defensive play calling early in the game.  However, why the defensive game plan needed to be adjusted so early in the game is another question.  But what will be talked about more so than anything else tomorrow will be his decision making again on 4th down.  Sure, if the fake punt worked, then everything is fine.  But the choice to give Breida the ball over Allen on 4th and short is a head-scratcher to me.  Then, when the Bills actually have some momentum, he punts on 4th and short.  I'm all for continuity and we did just sign him to an extension, but I don't think that gets him out of having to present a solid plan of change to the owners going forward.  I hope he's willing to adapt his defensive line rotation, as well as start to take a bigger interest in the offensive game planning.  Being 7-6 with this schedule and roster is a joke.

10 - 2nd Half - I know a lot are going to take the second half as a positive sign that the offense woke up and hopefully will be good down the stretch.  And while I do try to take a positive approach to these games, I'm also human and tired of not winning a close game this season.  I remember expecting to convert every 3 and 4th down play last year, versus expecting not to this year.  I think we were 1-9 on 3rd downs at one point.  The offense did wake up, but I still attribute that more to Allen playing hero ball as much as finally remembering Davis and Beasley are on the field.  To that point, I don't care if Sanders plays another snap for us.  Since his arrival, he's taken snaps away from guys who proved it on the field last year, has had maybe 3 good games, and has disappeared since.  I'm happy it was a game, but also felt like I lost twice today.  This game felt over at half, but the Bills did the most Billsy thing they could by coming back, giving hope, only to lose again.

*Should we start to get worried about Digg's ability to track the deep ball?  This is two games in a row where that's cost us

**The only reason I'm not talking about the refs is because of promise earlier in the season to stop blaming games on them.  Yes, the 50/50 calls for PI went against the Bills and never in their favor, but we need to stop expecting them to help us.  To call that play on 3rd and 2 if you don't plan on going for it on 4th is stupid and on us.

I know the season isn't over and we still have a good chance to make the playoffs, but there's no reason to believe this team is capable of winning a game against any team who's physical in the trenches or be able to come back and win a game from behind.  The beauty of the drought was having no expectations.  I don't even know how to process this season besides it being a disappointment.  There's a lot of off-season work to do and I don't know if it will be possible in just one year.  We've proven that we need to upgrade at least 3 spots on the offensive line, get a genuine pass rusher (not a rotation!), a big space eater up the middle, a DB to fill in for Tre (Tre won't be back until November and Wallace is a UFA), and a MLB who can actually make a play.  This team needs to change at a core level, and I hope it can be done with tweaks, but I honestly don't know anymore.

    Go Bills

For me, it is time to let Daboll go work at wendy's, he is sooooooo over rated....... Not to even try running the ball......well nuff said..

Edmunds, let him walk, he is a bust no impact plays week in a week out..... the worst defender on the field.

looks like Brown is the guy we can run behind.

Think it’s pretty obvious Star is playing his last few games as a Bill

I was a big fan his first season with us, now it is clear this guy just wants a paycheck and lacks toughness. They should cut him and feliciano today!

So very true. Maybe he has covid toe. This team is fosters freeze soft serve.

Maybe he chose to sit out because he was afraid of getting covid in his toe. I sure hope the organization puts an emphasis on toughness and desire moving forward.

  8. Watched this play a few times, it appears Edmunds is way out of position. He almost looks like he is not even looking at the play and reading it but rather running to a spot. Unfortunately, that spot was not the final destination, he totally was out of position. The Guard got a good block on him and steered him away to the wrong destination as well. Almost appears it was a designed option run. For the Bills Harris read it right.

The kid has all the tools but too many people let him pass on his mistakes. The press has you believe he is a superstar. He may never reach his potential , if he is reading his press clippings. He frequently over pursues on both run and pass plays.  Now, maybe he expected Hyde to be the safety valve on the play and seal it up, that did not happen  because like Edmunds he over ran the play too.  Some other things on the play I noticed was again we see Oliver was unable to get off his block fast enough to provide backside support.  Last statement, the LB captain needs to call a time out on the play to get out of the nickle defense. Nickle may be the right call but not in the conditions of the game Monday night.  Kudos to Belicheck he out coached McD on this round.

  9. Keeping it simple

1 Get a OC, Daboll is horrid

2 Get an OC See #1

3 Get a OL coach with a resume, I think our guy cut his teeth in the Arena league or something.....

4 get better metrics for draft evaluation

Gonna be difficult with every dollar we have invested in Allen to build a line and Skill on offense..... We are gonna need to do it through the draft.

Players to Retain: Allen, Davis, Knox, Dawkins, Brown, Morse,  Millano, Bass, Punter,  Poyer, White, Wallace, Johnson, Phillips

    Player to move on from

    -Diggs (cost vs production)

    -Sanders ( was a waste)

-Oliver , too small for interior and too slow for end, last night on th ebig run he quit on the play.....See the play Judon got hurt on He got beat at the line but then made the tackle  9 yards down field.

-Hughes ( tooo old no porduction)

-Hyde ( I just think we can spend the money somewhere else or on a more physical player...

    -Singletary (not a starter)

-Moss ( no vision several  times he could have bounced it but never does)

-Breda? why was he brought in? Guy is out of football after this season no hands

    -Ford BUST

-Felciano no good on the IR

    -Star......under achiever

-Sweeney ( nice story but brings nothing to an NFL roster looks JV

-Neal ( does nothing for me) gets called for holding when put into action

  10. One would only hope Daboll is shown the door. This team lacks an identity after making a deep run last year.  I watch other teams develop linemen we cannot do the same. That is coaching and a stub born OC that does not see a player's strengths and weakness. We never put a 6th linemen in the game yet we really have no blockers at TE. Last night running a spread offense and running out of it....might as well have put a lb or corner in the backfield to start with.  Anyone know how many off tackle, sweeps, and traps we ran all night. I saw a lot of dive plays! We lack heart and athleticism on the line. Feliciano should not be brought back, he is not any use to use on the injury list....just another paycheck player, add Williams and Ford to that list......the rest of the linemen behind ford well, must really be bad.....not to crack the lineup. That said a good OC would recognize the deficiency and  design a scheme to maximize our franchise QB chances instead every dam play is a jail break and it is a matter of time before we lose Allen for next season with that clown Daboll calling the plays!

  11. I really thought Star was going to be an impact player this season and when healthy he has made our Defense better.  That said,  may need to think about moving on from this player, he is not on the field enough to be an impact player. Some players just want it more than the next guy.....some guy's play with torn biceps a  nd we cannot get guys on the field.

I would love to see the Bills put more emphasis on the intangibles like attitude and desire.....We have a lot of paycheck guys on this roster....A lot...

Whatever the reason Star just collected a check last night. If not healthy, we could have used stephenson or mckenzie....I for one do not put all the wait in the DL rotation, it for me does not allow the players get in a rythem. Back when Bruce, Still and Wright manned the line the other guys got in for a few plays a game....Dr Sack and Hansen.

  12. This game provides little hope.  This Roster is devoid of talent. I see parallels to this ownership group and the one that own's the Sabres. How that is right it is the same person.  Terry seems like a nice guy don't get me wrong but he is in the big boy league and no one takes this team seriously. I have been a Bills faithful for years but this roster is turning into one with no hope. I have never been a fan of tanking gets you no where. What seems to win is good drafting and not over paying in free agency.

I was glad that someone reminded me that Anquan Boldin was the other guy who quit on the Bills. You add Harvin and you have 3 bad moves for the past year all ending in similar ways.  I wonder is the front office up to the challenge? I live in North Carolina now and no one here is sad to have seen Kelvin go. No one ever talks about letting Beane get away..... Sports radio does not even recognize McD as ever being with the panthers. I still like McD but I am very very concerned that our front office has anything outside of money to spend.....We need a plan and goal a concept. If were going to run the run ball do so!

This teams coordinators on both sides of the ball don't seem to know how to use the pieces they have. Everyone always talks about how the Patriots take players and use them differently. belicheck is the best at knowing what a guy can and cannot do. I like McD taking over the play calling......That shows he cares and has not quit. We need to recognize our weekness and that is OL. So, maybe we use more plays that have 6 linemen or TE that actually block. We have a good back but  using him in a spread offensive behind this line seems like a waste. ....

I agree with those who say this season has all the ear marks of being dreadful. That said, I cannot believe we can get worse we can only get better. The line will gain experience and become better. Allen will grow. That said, Shady is getting old, we have no WR and our DL is not that special.  I don;t think our Right side of the line could be worse. Then again each person on the line looks lost on 2-3 snaps a game that times 5 is a lot of drive stops that added to the 4-5 False Starts at home and it just confirms these guys need to apply for the bouncer job in the beer joints around tie because no one wants them after they fail here.

There was a post here that listed all the bad front office moves over the past year or 2 and it is alarming. I said watch Gordon goto the Patriots. Make no mistake about it I am not saying he would suceed here. In fact put him with Kelvin Benjamin and they would most certainly fail.  However, If it can work for him anywhere it will be NE. Randy Moss 2.0.  Yeah the Pats lost to Saint Doug, but does anyone really think they will not be a factor in the end? That staff will get the team to play just as ashured Andy Reed will find a way to blow a strong start......However, maybe the Jets and Miami win 2 from the Pats, they will still win 11....... I just wonder if we should bring in a vetren QB cut peterman and let Allen learn the process as opposed to turning into David Carr 2.0.

  13. I thought it was cool.

I agree, nothing wrong with the move.....For the person who suggested it would be ok if we were up 21-0 ummm think about TO standing on the star....I don't think it would have been received to well had it been that scenario. Also, it was well covered leading up to the game that Nelson dated one of them. Honestly, if i was dating a Cowboys cheerleader that looked like that I would mark my territory on national TV....Hell he plays for the Bills! Cut him some slack. He wont get that chance for at least 4 more years most likely. Unless, by some stroke of misfrotune we play the Boys in the Bowl......god i hope not....we tried that 2 times...and that beat down last week brought back some bad memories. Anyone else wish we had Harbaugh for a head coach?

  14. for me the underlying problem is that we have a guard/center playing left tackle. Levitre is a solid guard/center but is no left tackle. Not to mention when we move him we inject a backup at his position. Our offense slowed greatly with the exception of the Washington game ( joke) when Harriston went down. So, if he cannot return this week and we have Levitre playing center as a backup, a backup guard and a 4th option at the most important position......oh help us. That miscue to start the game against the Cowboys got me feeling sick. Why we cam out throwing anyways is questionable and how you do not block one of the leading sack men over the past 5 years makes zero sense. I agree with the people that say we still need one or 2 drafts our depth is the problem. Maybe this is the real reason the Bills are not looking to invest in freddy. I mean take Tomlinson, similar age bracket, his resume is more decorated but he clearly is the backup in NY. I love Freddy, I wish we would have seen his talent earlier and passed on that draft bust Lynch. I know people love guys who run over players but truly name the best backs of the modern era........Tomlinson,Smith,Chris Johnson,Thurman, Barry, and so forth.....they had longer careers because they like freddy waited for the blocks to develop and had good vision to hit the hole before it closed. Guys like Okoyae, Word, Csonka, Jacobs....They simply do not make it long. Especially today....the D line goes what 280-320 lbs....Line backers hit with the force of small trucks.. FS that have violent collisions....my point is when to we get a true runner (?spiller) in the draft next year or the year after?

I like what I have seen from our LB's this season, we need a rush guy or two to play the edge but we need to find that in FA pool or draft. Hopefully the draft! I think we need to get a true shut down corner and we still need a end on defense. I like our OL....the second tier guys are getting the reps this season....so we should be good there....We still need another TE and a true deep threat and honestly....I say let Stevie go if he thinks he is a number one receiver. We need a big target. Even if we finish 5-11 we have improved and had the nation talking about us. Were on the map.....we just need the wheels to get us on the move!

  15. Get a grip and get in line.

    Support the team.

We were never going to land Cowher in the 1st place ... he didn't retire from the Steelers to coach the Bills.

Shanahan was always in it for the money so Snyder was the obvious choice.

Thank heavens Ralph and Nix didn't return Marty's calls ... Jauron was "Marty-light", the last thing we needed was "Marty-Extra Strong"

Nix and Gailey are good football men. Gailey is offensive minded. And offense is what we desperately need.

ALL YOUR NEGATIVITY NOW IS JUST HURTING THE TEAM.

Make the guy feel welcome here.

What a bunch of crap! grow a pair.....We got snookered yet again......time to fold! f Ralph!
