I always over estimate the wins (homer that I am) because I usually blindly trust that the talent lives up to it's potential. However, it usually does not and I think that has been due to the coaching. This year I just want to see how it goes. I really wouldn't be surprised with a 4 win or even a 12 win season.

Oh, and the OP just kinda made me scratch my head, so I am guessing that TC is probably right, since that is generally what the Bills make me do come draft day.

I can respect that, I suppose. I just see the Lombardi as a symbol of being a champion, or a past champion. Maybe the fact that it's placed with the banners of past accomplishments is why it feels like this to me.

We haven't earned the right to put it up anywhere. Even if it's just an image. I like the banners a lot, though.
Setting goals, visualizing them and putting them in front of you on a daily basis is a tried and true tool (among many others) of the most successful people/organizations throughout history. In sports and in all walks of life, the most successful people tend to visualize their achievments and goals, and believe them to exist long before they ever physically obtain them. So... putting up banners to remind a team of it's past, while simultaneously setting an image of the ultimate goal (the Lombardi trophy) slightly higher than those banners, is a smart and all encompassing message to the players. This alone will not make the team win, but it would be foolish to brush this move off as meaningless.

Come join us for our "Tailgate" party for the Bills' primetime game vs. Miami. Enjoy an outdoor viewing of the game on an HD projection screen, with sound! We have decided to turn this party into a fundraiser to help cover the medical expenses for our friend Melissa, who was recently involved in a terrible car accident. See details below
