So Ralph knew in 1997 (when jim retired) that he was going to sign Flutie in 1998?
No, he wanted Flutie over Kelly back in the 80's, but they were fortunate enough to have Bill Polian at the time. I've got to wonder now if Polian would of drafted Trent Edwards. I doubt he would.

I'd rather have a mediocre product than no product at all.
Settle for mediocrity and you'll always get mediocrity. Continuing to sell out the stadium is just making Ralph complacent.
-
This is Jauron's philosophy. Fewell carries it out. It is Jauron that is dictating chicken shyt football on both offense and defense. It is the Jauron way. Caution, safety, avoid risk, manage the game, hope (pray) to win.
Yeah, they all need to grow some balls.

Thank goodness. The franchise could have moved several times by now.
But it is what it is. You might as well cry about how your parents didn't have enough money/spend enough money on you. Oh wait, most people blame their parents for their problems. My bad.
LOL Let Ralph !@#$ you some more. This "BUT AT LEAST WE GET A MEDIOCRE NFL PRODUCT IN BUFFALO!" crap is the worst argument I've ever heard.
-
I've decided I'm going to root fo Tenn to go 19-0. I have no personal vendetta against them, they've always been a respectable team that plays good football. On top of that, it would just be really fun to see a team go 19-0 the season after the *18-1 season, just to rub it in the *pasty's faces.
Just so you know, it takes the Bills three seasons to even get 18 wins.
-
It's no coincidence that Bill Polian has made the Colts an NFL powerhouse. The fact that Ralph wanted Flutie over Kelly just goes to show you that Ralph sucks as an owner.
-
Yeah, Fewell sucks as a DC. So much for his bend, but don't break defensive philosophy. I've been subjected to 9 minute 90 yard TD drives by the opposition.

Browns 21, Bills 6

I've been a devoted Bills fan since 1985. When the Bills were at 5-1, I became enthusiastic about their playoff hopes despite a nagging feeling of deja vue. This three game losing skid has made me remember exactly what is wrong with this franchise.
I think the root of the Bills problems is Ralph Wilson himself.
In the Bills 48 year history they've had 14 head coaches over 16 head coaching terms, (Johnson and Saban had two terms each) for an average coaching term of 3 years. If you remove 12 years of Marv Levy from the figures as an anomaly, the average head coaching term is only 2.4 years. This reflects poorly on team ownership to say the least.
The fact that a great general manager like Bill Polian, and a good gm like John Butler, and good gm material like A.J. Smith were all fired, the travesty of the Donahoe era, and that these days the team doesn't even have a gm title anymore... poor reflection on Ralph Wilson again.
I billieve that the root of all the Bills problems is the irresponsibility, egomania, and meddling stupidy of Ralph Wilson.
Just had to get this off my chest.
Go Bills (sigh)
BINGO. This franchise will never go anywhere under Ralph Wilson.

So everyone is planning on the Bills losing, but whine like a bunch of wussies when they DO lose. There's plenty of time left in the season, and if you can take off your idiot blinders, the Bills didn't play too bad considering injuries and playing against NE, in NE, and who have historically benefited from excellent calls from the refs. (as and aside, how many holding penalties were called on NE? none? hmm.)
The Bills aren't out of the playoff hunt, but you friggin idiots are whining. THIS is when the Bills circle the wagons. This is when the bills fans rally around the team. This is when fans show that they are REAL fans.
Beyond this rant, if you don't think your 2nd year QB will go through growing pains, I don't know what to say. Your expectations aren't realistic. It is time you take Edwards' work as a whole, and not pretend that you can't remember the 4th quarter comebacks earlier this year. I can't believe that there are actually idiots calling for JP to be put in. Yes, Bills fans, some of us are that stupid.
This franchise hasn't been a contender since 1993. I think it's time you stop being a moron.
-
If this team moves out of Buffalo I am choosing another NFL organization to support. It's about time they stopped pulling our strings. We should tell them "you want to move, well take your mediocre shitfest elsewhere cause we're through!"
-
Or apparently you were one of about a dozen asses who ignored the long-standing policy of not starting new threads during games.
You know, like it says in big bold letters at the top of the page?
Good one.
What kind of a half-baked policy is that?
-
my previous post got deleted because I said how this team has hit rock bottom and how the players have lost all confidence in themselves because the coaching staff has had none in them for 3 or 4 weeks now....
Apparently only "glass half full" posts are to be allowed now....
There's no point posting here anymore. Let the fascist crackpots wallow in their delusion that this franchise is any good. This franchise will never play in an AFC Championship Game for the remainder of my lifespan. Mediocre is all they can settle for.
-
However, what we have here is something special, something we haven't had in a long long time - A FIRST place team after 8 games.
Is this how we're going to judge success now? What kind of a moron are you?
-
I can see the fascist team is out to delete any posts criticizing the franchise now. Way to establish an honest reputation TBD.
-
Trent is overrated. When will this franchise ever find a decent QB?
-
we will only begin winnining when Ralph leaves
Thank you. This is what I have been saying all along. They won't even come close to contending until new ownership takes over.
-
I love this team, and think they are really good. We are just a few o-line and one d-line player from being
really good.
No, they're not that good. It's become a rite of fall for this team to suck so badly.
-
Silence? That's what I !@#$ing thought.
-
They're not even that close. This team is always a millennia away.
-
Guarantee you the Bills finish 8-8 at best.
-
Who wants to call me an idiot now? They just shat the bed against the Jets. That's 1-3 in the last !@#$ing four games. This team will miss the playoffs, and then we'll have to hear some sort of excuse for why they missed it again. The defense and the offense !@#$ing suck.
-
This team is not making the playoffs unfortunately.
-
This defense needs some retooling. They can't keep letting the opposition drive down the field everytime.
Man Up!!!

It goes much further back than the last three games. This team outside of it's Super Bowl run has been nothing but a dead end franchise for their whole existence.
This team won't even be in the playoffs in the next two seasons. Listen, I know the whole stereotype is that a fan must remain pollyanna the whole time, but could you at least tone it down a bit?
Yeah, tied with five other teams. Two of them we've already lost tiebreakers to. That's not much of a feat.
