No matter how bad we think our scouts are, you would think they would hit more often. It doesn't seem like the players we draft ever get any better and very few come out of no where and develop like on other teams.
Have players like Schobel, Evans, Reed, Poz, Kelsay, Lynch, et al become any better? They look alot like the same players we drafted. In some cases they have regressed. Maybe it is the coaching turnover, but it could point to our lack of really good position coaches. We could not get anything out of Roscoe on offense. We go through QB after QB. Free agents even come here to die. It seems statistically impossible. Could it be the rare combination of poor scouting and coaching. Maybe. But every other team has players you can point to that have really developed. Is it that they draft better or do their players improve because of the coaching?
I am all for the right GM if available, but maybe a big time coach that could put together a top notch staff would be the better bet. No way we get both the GM and the coach. I am leaning toward the coach.

I agree. I was there too. It was horrible to watch Mcgee play 10 yds off on Ginn on every play. Ginn was eating up Mcgee on out patterns all day. Jauron should've never played em.

I hope he knows what he's talking about, because it is the most promising picture of the Bills' season i have read lately.
His colleague, Don Banks, in the same two-piece article, says both the Pats and Jets make the playoffs, so that tempers the outlook considerably.
If you combine the two outlooks, it predicts another 7-9-, 8-8 season! I think I'd prefer 5-11 and hope for a shake-up at the top.

This is his make or break year, but he's signed through 2010 and cheap. Might as well see what a new coaching staff, if there is one, can do with him.

It is my opinion (based on seeing him in camp, live at the Ralph, and on TV) that he has PLENTY of zip on his throws and can make the 15-20 yard out without much of a problem. I'm pretty darn sure the "experts" actually in the game would agree with that too. Growing a pair, developing better anticipation on routes, etc. is what he needs to do.

AAHHHH. So this is where some of the apologists have been hiding. Offering each other assurances that everything else is to blame for Trent's failings.
1) O-line is young and got injured. Some plays Trent had 2 seconds some plays he had plenty of time. When you do get the time make the defense pay. Hey a lot of people thought our old line was so terrible and Peters was a chump. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOOLOLO. Sometimes you have to take a step back to take a step forward I guess. We are going to see inconsistency like this for a while.
2) Coaching is not problem #1. Universal rule...YOU CAN'T COACH BALLS OR ARM STRENGTH. Trent doesn't have enough of former and I wish he had more of the latter which could improve his problem with the former!
3) Did anyone else notice that almost ALL of the time Trent audibles he goes to a running play?

i agree offensive line and needs to work together they will improve ..........they have only played in three nfl games......welcome back beastmode

I could have told you about Fedex field. Been there 3 times now including last years Bills game. The parking is horredous, Yes. The Stadium was built by Jack Kent Cooke in about 9 months and it's a piece of crap. Go up the road to Baltimore if you want to see an awesome stadium.
it was great at the end of the game as the bills players walked off the field about 100 jersey clad bills fans gathered.....roscoe parrish acknowledged the support trent edwards gaveup his wristbands to some fans in the corner ....then lynch scooped up a football from the sidelines ran to the fans and flipped theball into the crowd.....i thought it was a cool .....the guy who caught it had a moulds jersey go bills

it was great to see the bills jerseys at the preseason game on saturday.....you could tell the starters only played a few series....still enjoyed the game with my children....
