  1. My two potential possibilities as to what's causing the hold-up:

    • Bills have already submitted the offer sheet, Clay has signed it, and we are actually already day(s) into the 5 day waiting period. However, with all of this 'insiders' sniffing around, I would be shocked that it hasn't been leaked to someone so far. So probably a longshot.
    • Bills and Clay have mutual interest, however both are concerned that the Dolphins will match any fair-market value contract offer. So they're hoping that by waiting it out, Miami may lift the tag. Unfortunately, Miami does have cap room and this most likely won't happen. So my guess is that Buffalo not only has to be creative with how they structure the contract, but they may have to massively overpay (ie $8-9+ per year).

    Just my two cents...

  2. Obviously all the talk has been about obtaining Bradford and for good reason. However, what are your guys' thoughts on Austin Davis? He actually started a handful of games last year as a rookie and had some really good moments against good teams (Dallas, Philly, Seattle). His play trailed off towards the end of the season and was benched but could offer some potential?

Haven't heard that the Rams are interested in trading him but would you guys be interested in the Bills pursuing something there? It would take a low draft pick and his salary would be minimal. I think we can agree that any of the available FAs/Rookies just don't elicit any real excitement.

    Just a thought..

  3. I use the same strategy every year but this year was much more difficult. I called last week to sign up for Sunday ticket max and got it for the regular price ($330). Today I called to cancel and she was only gonna give me $60 off. She called my bluff and went ahead and canceled it...I thought I had no chance. Then, after she asked if I had any other questions/concerns, I casually mentioned how I felt that it was unfair that people get different prices depending on who they talk to. She actually agreed with this and said that I should talk to their 'loyalty' department...boom, I was in.

When it was all said and done, I got the Max for $160 in addition to $10 off per month for 12 months off my regular bill! So pretty much I got it for $40 :)

  4. 1. Completely agree, it's all about EJ.

    2. The backup qb market is very dry right now. I do think that addressing the qb via the draft may have been prudent, especially in the 6th or 7th rounds (mccarron, mettenberger, etc.)

    3. Too many cooks in the kitchen, we need reps for the younger receivers. We know what we had with Stevie...above average, but he's already peaked. Not a great locker room guy and not a great leader.

    4. Agree, would be nice to have a veteran presence. Not sure how that will shake out.

    5. No question that Whaley has a different style than his predecessors. I don't believe he's being aggressive just to save his job, but I'm sure it's in the back of his mind. It's cool to see a GM that is confident in the team. I think that type of thinking trickles down to the coaching staff and players.

    6. Roster talent has significantly improved in the last two years. Coaching staff is better overall. I'm curious with D-coordinator change as a less aggressive scheme scares me a bit. All we need is a big step forward by the O and a step back by the D.

    7. I definitely thought we gave up too much for Brown...unless, of course, he's good. Giving up a 3rd rounder for a good RB is a good price.

    8. FA is all about overpaying, nothing you can do about it. That's why it's best to build through the draft and just fill certain holes through FA.

  5. Saw it last night. I love the NFL draft, just love it. That would be the ONLY reason I would recommend watching it as I'm getting more and more excited for the actual draft.

Overall, entertaining but not worth it if you don't absolutely love the draft.

  6. With FA upon us and seeing the Bills entertain visits from LBs, it got me thinking. We obviously made huge strides on defense last season but continue to struggle against the run. Why? We have three probowlers on the D-line, a DROY finalist at linebacker, and a solid FA LB signee in Lawson who was good at 'setting the edge'. Should we really have the 5th worst run D in the league because of the lack of a viable third linebacker? Just wonder if you guys thought there are other issues also at work...

  7. Rogers was slated to contribute significantly as a corner in nickel/dime situations and possibly be the lead KO return man. With his nagging injury in training camp, is there any chance he gets cut? Also, has anyone heard any updates on when he would possible return to practice?

  8. Hey guys, my family will be traveling to Buffalo for the Bills/Patriots game. There will be 9 of us..any suggestions except for the typical places (stubhub, etc) as to where to find good prices on tickets? Any help would be appreciated..thanks!

  9. Obviously Jauron was not strong with identifying talent, whether it was through the draft or FA. However, I find it ironic that even though our head coach is considered an offensive expert, our top five offensive players (fitzy, FJ, stevie, wood, levitre) were from the Jauron regime. Again, I'm not supporting Jauron here, I just found that interesting. Obviously, we've attempted to aggressively address our defense during the Gailey tenure, but interesting nevertheless...

  10. I agree with you non-haters. I love the Bills, I consider myself a diehard fan. But I can also recognize greatness and Brady fits that category. Just because he dominates us as well as the NFL year in and out, doesn't mean you can't respect him. You don't have to like him, just respect.

Also, if you hate him because his life seems so perfect (supermodel wife, successful qb, celebrity, etc.), that's ok :)

    Respect, that's all..
