is that I now believe the narrative on Josh and the Bills in general has changed. We are now according to the media a non contender. We lost both our top two receivers and one being a top five guy in Diggs. We had to let go of our safeties, our Center, and our best pass rusher from last season.

The window is closed. The Bills won't be a threat, and Josh has a rag tag group to throw to.

This to me opens up the door for Josh to elevate his game this season...to stay within himself and the offense to put up a phenomenal season which will give the media no other option but to recognize his greatness and finally let him win his first MVP award.

This team is not what the media is portraying it in my eyes, but that doesn't matter because they have already decided we are worse, that Josh has no real receivers, and that we are yesterday's news.

It's a good spot to be in for not just the team, but for Josh and his MVP chances

beyond the earned emoji... Awesome take! thanks! and fuc4 the traditional minded media!

I agree, but I’m always a bit nervous about wasting a year of Allen at quarterback. We weren’t going to get any closer to a Lombardi with the roster as it was constructed.

IMHO, at least in JA17 we have some QB year to waste! 29 more teams (I dare to discount KCY with Patty Swift and HOU who seemed to have catched lighting in a bottle, with CJ07) are still looking for someone's year to waste...

I don't mean to sound callous, but I care about Greenberg's opinion about as much as I care about the ant I stepped on when I took my dog for a 12-mile run in the mountains yesterday.

Now that I think about it, I'm starting to feel guilty about the ant.  I actually care about the ant more than I care about Greenberg's opinion.

The reality is Josh is going to win a SB or he isn't.  Greenberg's thoughts don't affect the odds so why should any of us care?

    ..the ant.... hahahaha!

If Michael Thomas is cut, I wonder what his market value is?  Could be an intriguing option

Man is not going to get healthier every year tha goes by... as the past 3-4 seasons have shown, maybe with exception of late 2023, but again, father time will knock the door...

i get the rationale behind not listing Allen tbh

look at his playoff stats. He literally can't do any better and the Bills haven't even come close

Maybe is my not native English speaking / reading, but how can I read "have not even come close", when JH10 has only gone once (?) to playoffs in his young career, JB09 makes it only every other year, even understanding he made it to THE GAME, and so on...

I would like to have Daquan Jones back but I think he probably signs with the Chicago Bears right away in free agency.

I was told by a reliable source that he packed up his entire household in Buffalo after the season and moved everything to Nashville............he could have waited on that if he thought he might have to stay in Buffalo.

Maybe DQJ only needed a warm place in between winter ad training camp in 716 raea code...?

This is tough for me.  Normally, I would say they should make the change this offseason.  But then again, what are we really asking for here?  We are looking for someone to do what no one else can.  I'd argue that McD plays Reid better than any other coach.  We scored more points against the Chiefs than anyone else did in the playoffs, same in prior years.

With that being said, you're asking do we drop the #2 coach for a hopeful coach that can do what no one else has.

I'm not sure how to answer that honestly.

YOU'RE Da Man! ...Virgil, 5 lines, boom! answer is in!

That this year’s playoff loss was worse than 13 seconds because it was a better opportunity to make the Super Bowl.

and what also made it worse is after 13 seconds we were itching to get another shot at KC in the playoffs and redeem ourselves (not shoot ourselves in the foot again).

We get that chance - at home - only 2 years later, with the Bengals out of the playoffs, and we shoot ourselves in the foot, again… after all of that.

    This team does not learn.

...I'd like to build on top of your post, if I may, and say that to add insult to injury, while doing so, we did miss the opportunity of taking advantage of a new OT rule (one possession to each team at least, even after TD), which, btw, was created by the League responding to our collective misery after ...again....13 secs...

The Chiefs have two, the Rams, and the Bucs who beat the Chiefs in the SB. We have lost to our arch nemesis (KC) in the Playoffs three times in there, with all three times them ending up in the SB. The other loss was to the Bengals, who lost to the Chiefs the following week. Regular season point differentials mean nothing.

H2o, although I agree with the essence of your argument the way you outlined it, I found an inaccurate fact in your statement of "all three times...", given that after '13 seconds', KCY fell to CIN in the AFCChG... the other two (2020 ad 2023) they did avance to the SB, however, when they did in 2020, they LOST to TBY, and this comes to my mind because I had previously thought that, whenever they beat us, in playoffs before, they lost the "next game", and that would become a curse, for this SB58 only that this time...the spell was broken...and they won in a Hollywood-esque mode...

I doubt he will, and he said he wants to retire a Giant, but he is clearly unhappy with the lack of progress on a new contract. The Daily News also reported this in today's paper.

That Sports Guy on Twitter: "This feels very much like the Le’Veon Bell situation with the Steelers in 2018. Giants were willing to make Saquon Barkley the highest paid RB in football. Saquon turns it down, believing he’s worth more, and is kicking around the idea of sitting out" / Twitter

Hey Gregg, no pressure, but first name of Mr.Barkley would help to make your thread title more specific, I might be cherry picking, so excuse me, but it happens we have a relevant Barkley guy in our favorite team...🙃

Fish getting Cook takes a lot of heat off Tua.  They were a dumpster fire two years ago, now they're an actual threat.

Not sure I agree with the take, since I remember they added Jeff Wilson Jr. from Frisco niners, around the same week Tua came back, so I dont see the upgrade if they go from Jeff to Dalvin as their primary back... just my 2 cents!

1.) Beane doesn't do an extension simply to make another move. The player needs to want to do it and he needs to want to lock the player up long term. You don't just snap your fingers and do an extension. It takes time. Beane's already said he wants to wait until Training Camp before extending a DT so he can see who's looking good and see who's all in.

2.) Siran Neal is much more important to Beane and McDermott than fans give him credit for. He's our backup Nickel, our only big nickel, and a key contributor on Special Teams. That's why he's stuck around as long as he is. He isn't going anywhere.

Like Cover1 said, the quickest, easiest moves are to restructure Dawkins and/or Tre. But I fear he hasn't done it yet because he might want to get out from those contracts in the future, if Tre doesn't return to form or Dawkins regresses more. Restructures may make that more difficult.

Question... how can Shnow "regress", if he has been n0-good for a long time...? ...release sarcasm button, now! 🙃

I'll say this...I'm interested to see who they open up the season against on Thursday. 4 reallllly solid options.

Buffalo- We opened on the road last year. Not sure they will put us there 2 years in a row

Cincinnati- AFCCG rematch seems like a solid choice.

    Miami- The return of Tyreek

    Philadelphia-SB Rematch

On a side note...gee how fortunate that the Chiefs get these 4 tough matchups...all at home while Buffalo plays all of the same teams on the road (sans splitting with Miami, of course).

The 'sans splitting with Dolphelons' in your comment, will be erased soon, with our away game bein on the road, playing in a 112 Fahrenheit temperature...

Here’s hoping you’re right. Personally, think Mr. Pegula is heartbroken. He’s 71, Kim was so young and vital.

Billions for the kids without the headache of NFL aggravation would be my gift to them. Bet Mom agrees.

That is what  meant with family dynamics, during illness and pain, thanks for putting the right words to my hump ☺️

I listen to Sirius XM NFL.  On Moving The Chains today with Pat Kirwin and Jim Miller they discussed the sale of the Commanders.  Then the topic turned to potenital sale of other teams and Pat Kirwin mentioned Seattle and BUFFALO.   WHAT?  Kirwin said he heard of that possibility.  Maybe it's a wild rumor but this is the first I've heard anything like this.  It's only been 7 years since the Pegula's purchased the Bills.  The only thing that I could think that would prompt Mr. Pegula to sell the team of was the health of Kim Pegula ... but I am speculating.  Has anyone else heard of this?  Assuming there is any truth to this, what assurances does the county have that the new owner would keep the Bills in WNY (for new stadium)?

I wouldn't discard the "sell"side of our thought (rumor from some), since Pegulas family dynamics are a big factor, but I would not even entertain the part of "move" in the rumor, tough...

Gabe Davis is a bit of an anomaly on the current Bills. His best play comes in the playoffs rather than the regular season.

The reason I asking "Do the Bills Under Appreciate Gabe Davis?" is because Spotrac ranks him as having a higher market value than either Tremaine Edmunds, Ed Oliver or Jordan Poyer. Spotrac bases is ranking on actual production vs comps.  No eye tests involved.  Based on production, the comps Spotrac sees for Davis are Christian Kirk, Russell Gage, Michael Gallup, Hunter Renfrow.  For all of the discussion around Tremaine Edmunds being virtually a child in years, Davis is actually a year younger, and only 23  now.  He will be the same age as Edmunds when he becomes a free agent next year.

I figured a centralized place for the combine news would probably be a good idea as we start seeing player evaluations begin.

Here is a breakdown of the Combine schedule for the remainder of this week:

    March 2 (3 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET): DL, LB

    March 3 (3 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET): DB, PK/ST

    March 4 (1 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET): QB, WR, TE

    March 5 (1 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET): OL, RB

The combine takes place at its usual stomping grounds of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, and it should hopefully be an exciting week of coverage. Prepare for your early mock drafts to be blown to bits, and may all our picks be future HOF’ers.

...you got me with the HOFers hook... 😁
