I wish they would practice more on getting rid of the ball quickly.
I wish JP would not telegraph his throws or look like he is thinking really hard when he is holding the ball. I wish that he could not look confused as soon as the ball is snapped. SORRY - he makes me angry.

A lifetime in doing-nothing/going-nowhere WNY will do that to you, I guess...
I beg to differ, I am doing alot, going places and live a very prosporous and happy life. I am not even a native WNY'er. I wouldn't live anywhere else.
Now Jerry Sullivan - I believe it is just in his DNA to be a cynic. He's a sports writer, if he felt that way about WNY - he could leave.

11) The sky is not falling---No team is going 16-0 this year, and its better the Bills lost to an out of conference opponent than an in conference one...its the first loss of the season, but likely not the last---
12) The Bye comes at a perfect time---hopefully Edwards and McGee will be back for the San Diego game, and they can work on things like pass-rushing from the D-line, O-line protections, and O-line run blocking....
I totally agree with this! I wish they didn't have to lose in such an ugly way, but if you are going to lose - let it be to an opponent like the Cardinals.
I like the timing of this bye - after that loss two weeks to regroup is exactly what we need.
This was not a fun game to watch - I almost wish I had missed it due to the TW/LIN dispute.

You really think we are losing cause Trent is out?
I think we could rally back a bit better from the bad defense if he was in. That's all I'm sayin'
-
Here's my honest question. If any other Good team (Colts, Pats, Giants, without all the injuries) were playing at Arizona, wouldn't you all pick the Cards to lose? This is a game that a good team should win. We are not a good team.
How many of those teams would lose with their starting QB's out?

You were smart enough to have the wedding during the bye week.
Is there any other week to get married during Bills Season?

Yes, you do have a choice. There's a 90% chance that the trees actually will NOT interfere with your signal at all. The dish points UP, even though it doesn't look it. As an example, Nervous Guy said the same thing before -- "Trees, can't do it." Installer came out and said, "Trees, can't do it." I convinced him to get a second opinion from a real installer. He came out, installed it, everything's worked ever since (last I heard).
I have a neighbor who actually has the dish pointing directly at the roof (or so it looks) -- but they obviously get a signal. I keep meaning to take a picture and post it here.
And an antenna is a choice -- just one that you're not willing to do. As Rush says, "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."
I think I am going to buy an antenna. I will have my fiance mess with it.
I had DirecTV before and I found their customer service to be wonderful, however we would lose the signal during rainstorms and we had to knock snow off of it once in awhile. We have huge pine trees - I guess it is worth having them take a look... after my wedding.
-
If I offended, I apologize. I like to consider myself a (usually) polite poster.
I can understand how this whole WIVB thing would have TWC customers very upset. You can have all your people come over to my house and watch the game.
OK... truce
As you may see from my earlier post - my morning begame with a chipmunk running rampant through my basement (where my office is). Then I turn on the TV to see if Channel 4 is there..... GONE.
We can not get DirecTV or Dish Network unless we want to cut down tons of trees (inlcuding our neighbors) and FIOS... not in my neighborhood yet.
So I have to listen to Chris Musial say "You have a choice" NO!! I DON'T!!! I don't want an antenna!!!!!! That is just something else to deal with......
Oh yeah... I am getting married in 8 days so I am on edge...

I have never heard anyone diss Kurt Warner, or say he isn't good just because he is religous and thanks Jesus
Stop trying to stir up controversy
Think about it... we see players thank Jesus/God all the time when they make a touchdown or for their talent, or they point to the sky...
I don't think player's religious beliefs affect anyone's opinions of them.

Because you are over sensitive?
I didn't harrass, swear or impune you, Your message asked "would LIN be doing this if the Bills weren't doing so well"? The answer given stated why they would, regardless of the Bills status. LIN does not just own CBS stations, but FOX stations, ABC affiliates and others.
LIN only choose to "pull stations" from markets where they have no carriage agreement with TWC. They choose to stay on in NONE of these markets. They cannot choose to pull themselves from carriers with which they have an agreement, only those that they don't.
NOT AT ALL.. I would call saying "you should read more carefully", "stop thinking so locally" a little insulting though. It's a message board - I wrote something quickly...because I am working and you don't know why I wrote that. (which was just to say how fortuitous that they carry something some of us love).
I understand the situation.... I was just adding a thought that it gives them more leverage in a market such as ours to have the consumer lean on the cable company a bit. YES, football fans along with every person who loves whatever show on CBS.
-
ahhhhh...don't let a douche like that scare you away...we like you steph!
Why thank you... it was just a quick question.... I KNOW they are a huge company, but I am sure that the big shows like CSI, etc. give them national leverage but HERE in Buffalo it gives the local station a HUGE bargaining chip. That is all I am saying...
That set me off too because I just chased a chipmunk around my basement. Ridiculous morning.

You need to read a bit more before you rant.... This shutdown of LIN stations on Time Warner is happening in Dayton, Columbus, Toledo, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Austin, Green Bay, Buffalo and a number of other cities as well.
I seriously doubt folks in Toledo care how the Bills are doing, but I bet people in Indy are pissed about not seeing the colts this weekend.
This is not a Buffalo thing. Stop thinking so locally.
I DO READ CAREFULLY.... MAYBE I SHOULD REPHRASE.
Do you think LIN is using their coverange of ALL NFL games as a bargaining chip?
THAT was not a rant. Maybe YOU should be a bit more sensative. I am the LAST person to think locally. It was just a simple question and LIN can also choose to pull whichever stations from whichever carrier it wants - it is not all or nothing. In our local market they have some powere - all of their messages to viewers kept reiterating the point that we will not be able to see Bills games. I am well aware of the fact that Channel 4 is not owned locally, but find it very convenient that they are using the games as a way to make me, as the consumer pressure my cable carrier.
I now remember why I left this message board.

Where did he get the overhead projector from? That must have had some dust on it!
-
Do you think this would be as big a deal if they did not carry the Bills games? I don't watch ANYTHING on CBS. I also dont watch too much TV... mostly cable and sports.
Do you think LIN would be doing this if the Bills were not doing as well? I feel like they are laughing at all the TW customers because they have this huge bargaining chip. But like I said, cable is my only option in my neighborhood.
I guess I will have to bite the bullet and get an antenna since I have people coming over for the game on Sunday
-
This should serve as a lesson for anyone who think it wise to have time warner.
That is all well and good if you have other choices. We don't have FIOS and our neighborhood is too wooded for a dish. It is actually Channel 4 causing the problem.

At least the ongoing saga is entertaining. With a 1-2 football team you need SOMETHING fun going on.
I especially like how some of what Herrera said didn't make sense. Like when Kawakami asked if he was embarassed and he said "I'm embarassed you can't write a column" - that was such an awkward phrase!
-
I know Ralph is old, but YES, that was painful, like your grandfather telling you one of those "I walked uphill both ways to school" stories.
As for Bruce, I didn't live here for most of his time as a Bill, he was in in his last years when I moved here is '96, so that being said, I took his last statement a bit differently. I was like "YEAH! That guy was A BUFFALO BILL, he is something to be proud of." Maybe I mistook the context though?
-
Not only is he an example of not giving up on a prospect, he is an example of not giving up on yourself. I have alot of respect for this guy, he ignored what people/media were saying about him and look at him now. I have always liked him and am so happy he made the team this year and is making an impact.

That was one of the most exciting games I have ever been to! I have never cheered so much in my life (and I grew up as a cheerleader!)
I have been a Bills fan for most of my life (I didn't grown up here) and I have never been so excited/nervous watching a game as I was yesterday. My knees were buckling, my hands were shaking and I almost cried when we kicked that FG!!!
GO BILLS!
-
where are you hearing or seeing the post game interview?
Heard that on the radio on the way home!!
-
There is a reason they refer to USA Today as "The Funny Pages".

I have always held a special place in my heart for Roscoe.... I love that guy. I do get excited when he is out on the field, because when he has runs like he did on Sunday, it is just so exciting!!
I think my next jersey will be an 11.
-
I'm going to guess no, no and...umm...no.
Last time I got in a fist fight I was 12. Seriously.
OK.... so probably not any of the above LOL!!

4.) I see Stroud playing like his hair is on fire
Didn't his teammates say something along the lines of they are bet
ter off without him? I hope that he uses that as a motivating factor as well. This guy is a BEAST and I love it. I think this line is showing glimpses of greatness that will continue to shine through as the season progresses.
I am always excited about the season, but some of the things I saw on Sunday make me believe Jauron's Yale education paid off!

He does not looked poised nor confident when he is playing. I didn't say anything horrible about him. He is probably a super nice guy. He reached out to the community and is not a trouble maker. That is great, but that doesn't win you football games. Watching him play football is aggravating.
