‘I have covered somewhere around 450 Bills games in person, from preseason to the Super Bowl. There was nothing like what we saw and heard yesterday. I compared the atmosphere on the field to the sounds of a JV football game. On television they pump in crowd noise to try to make it feel normal. But in Bills Stadium it was nothing like that. The players deal with it and find a way to focus on their jobs. But even Tre White told me he was talking to his teammates on the sidelines during the game and they were saying how strange it was to not have fans.’

‘But, some friendly competition started in the neighborhood a few years back when a new neighbor moved in. “He moved in and put up a New York Jets flag and it was on after that,” said Mansfield.’

‘Buffalo led 21-3 at halftime when it could have easily been 35-0. They outgained the Jets 223 to 102 in yards through the first thirty minutes.’

‘The Bills quarterback set career-highs in passing yards (312), attempts (33) and completions (46).’

‘”It’s exciting. He’s still got a little bit of kid in him. When he’s out there he’s having fun and I enjoy it,” smiled the Bills wide receiver.’

‘Josh Allen and Buffalo’s offense gained 404 yards over 81 plays against the Jets and they should have had more.’

‘”We definitely missed Bills Mafia, we wish they could be in the stands,” said Josh Allen after throwing his first career 300-yard game. “Hopefully in the near future, our wish will come true. Their presence was deeply missed.”‘

‘As the Bills get set to start the season, top draft pick AJ Epenesa won’t be in the lineup. The rookie, 2nd round selection from Iowa is inactive for the opening game. But rookie RB Zach Moss, WR Gabe Davis and kicker Tyler Bass will all be in the lineup.’

‘Norman will miss AT LEAST the next three games for Buffalo and will be eligible to come off the IR after week three.’

‘Buffalo is a 6.5 point favorite this Sunday at home in front of no fans against the Jets. The over/under is set at 39.’

‘Some Bills players are already posting their helmet decals on social media.’

‘Even the most diehard Bills fan, wearing the 17 jersey and ranting on Twitter to anyone who questions Allen has some doubt. The 300 yard game is a stat and an overvalued one at that. But there is some validity to the criticism. There are times when the QB just needs to put the team on his arm and carry the game. Sure it’s great to be able to run and make plays, but it’s not easy to do that over and over again and survive in this league. Josh Allen needs to be snapping off passing to John Brown in the flat. He needs to be on target as Cole Beasley wins in the slot. And he needs to find Diggs down the field for big plays. He needs the defense to fear him in the pocket because he is going to pick them apart.’

‘”I would never admit it to you back then,” smiled Micah Hyde. “It was frustrating some of those years, to go out there. The defense playing well getting some turnovers for the offense and our offense went out there and struggling.”‘

‘Levi Wallace has also been dealing with a hamstring injury but has been a full participant all week at practice and will likely start across from Tre White on Sunday.’
