Opinion: A tale of two Bills teams

‘Then the home team came out and laid an egg in the first half.’

Sneaky Joe: Back to Super Bowl or bust for the Bills

‘They’ll have to prove they can beat the other three and that might seem tough right now. They’ve already lost to Houston and Baltimore, and Kansas City is… well… Kansas City.’

Opinion: Capaccio: Titans at Bills: Sal’s keys, notes and stats

‘With Rudolph starting, the Titans will most likely want to play a conservative game on offense and not give the Bills the extra chances Levis would bring. The Bills defense needs to stay patient and take any of those when given.’

McDermott ‘happy to have’ Cooper in Buffalo

‘”It is a physical game, and you need to be a physical team, an aggressive football team. The way we position it is, hey, the ones that are pre snap, those are discipline, those are focus penalties. The ones that are post whistle, same as and those are the ones that we declare as non negotiable, absolutely non negotiable. You’re going to get an aggressive penalty via a hold once in a while, don’t love them, but we preach technique all the time. The ones that happen after the ball snapped and before the whistle, if those are aggressive penalties, those are going to happen from time to time, but those other ones that I already outlined, those are, those are non negotiable.”‘

Opinion: It’s good to be home

‘The Bills might have a big day from the left side of their pass rush come Sunday. The Titans benched starting right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere after the fourth game. Leroy Watson IV was a little better last Sunday against the Colts, but if/when Greg Rousseau is on the left side, it could lead to multiple sacks.’

Bills getting healthier even with lengthy injury report

‘While Thursday’s injury report listed a whopping 16 players, just one player was listed as “did not practice”.’

Bills sign kicker Lucas Havrisik to practice squad

‘Havrisik played nine games with the Los Angeles Rams just this past season after being singed off the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad. In those nine contests, Havrisik converted 15-of-20 field goal attempts, with his longest kick coming from 52 yards out.’

Beane: Amari Cooper deal had been in works for a few days

‘”By the time their move was announced, we had honed in on Amari,” Beane said while addressing the media. “I was monitoring that one, checking around, and I would say by Monday afternoon felt there was a fairly decent chance that we could do this with Cleveland.”‘

Bills acquire Amari Cooper from Browns

‘Cooper has spent parts of the last three seasons in Cleveland with the Browns, accounting for 2,660 receiving yards on 174 total receptions and 16 touchdowns. So far through five games this season, the 30-year-old has reeled in 24 passes for 250 yards and a pair of touchdowns.’

Bills release wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling

‘Valdes-Scantling, 30, signed a one-year deal worth $2.25 million with the Bills this offseason back on May 14. This comes after spending his two seasons prior with the Kansas City Chiefs, winning back-to-back Super Bowls.’

Bills earn ugly win over Jets on ‘Monday Night Football’

‘With the win, the Bills now take a commanding lead in the AFC East standings in the win improving their record to 4-2. The Bills were able to get help from rookie running back Ray Davis with James Cook out of the lineup with foot/toe injury.’

McDermott: Running game helped open up passing game

‘However, part of Allen’s success in the passing game was the result of a strong rushing performance from the likes of rookie Ray Davis and veteran Ty Johnson, who combined for 131 yards on the ground.’

Allen lauds running backs stepping up in Cook’s absence

‘”Awesome to see. It’s why we drafted him,” said Allen during his postgame press conference with the media. “He’s so quick in-and-out of his cuts, he’s downhill… he runs super hard. I’m proud of him for stepping up.”‘

Opinion: Bills find a way with much-needed win

‘The Bills also had to overcome themselves.’

Opinion: Capaccio: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Bills at Jets

‘RB Ray Davis – The rookie was terrific, running physical and catching the ball. He ran 20 times for 97 yards, averaging 4.9 yards per carry and caught all three targets thrown his way for another 55 yards, finishing with 153 total yards from scrimmage.’
