‘The Bills were able to bounce back at home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following a poor offensive performance from last week as the offense found their form again.’

McDermott: ‘That’s good NFL football and that’s high level competition’
‘”First half, the run game was was not good enough. Second half, we did a better job winning first down some of those first down runs, getting them into some second and seven plus situations, and then it was winning third down after that. Baker made a couple scramble plays, then we changed some things up again. So really, really happy with how both sides adjusted. Staff wise, offensively, I think we were averaging what, 3.8 on first down. We end up with seven yards on first downs. And then defensively, they were averaging seven, and they end up at 4.6 so obviously, something changed, which credit the staff and the players for that.”‘
Allen: ‘I think we won all three phases today’
‘”We got to do a good job on not riding the wave, trying to stay as level as possible, not getting too high and not getting too low,” said Allen. “Starting off 4-0, people say we’re the best team in the world, then we lose two in a row and now we’re the worst team in the world. We don’t want to ride that wave, we just want to stay here, stay consistent, continue to work hard, put together game plans to go out there and execute every game.”‘
Opinion: Capaccio: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Buccaneers at Bills
‘The Bills got gashed in the run game once again. Tampa ran the ball 39 times for 202 yards, averaging 5.2 yards per carry.’
Opinion: Simon: Yes Virginia, The Bills Still Have A Real Passing Game
‘The Bills were definitely more aggressive in the passing game against Tampa Bay. Allen attempted multiple deep throws. He connected on a 43 yard touchdown pass to Tyrell Shavers. The pass traveled 40+ air yards and according to ESPN, it was the first passing TD of 40+ air yards for Allen since the 2022 regular season finale.’
Opinion: Capaccio: Buccaneers at Bills: Sal’s keys, notes and stats
‘Every team wants to start fast and get a lead, but it’s apparent this Buffalo Bills club really needs to do it in order to control the game and play the way they want. When the Bills can do that, they can lean on their running game and put more pressure on the other team, which can cause mistakes. Not falling behind to the Buccaneers like they did against the Dolphins would really help.’
Bills declare two out and four questionable for Sunday
‘Defensive backs Taron Johnson and Cam Lewis, along with linebacker Shaq Thompson and defensive tackle T.J. Sanders, who is still on Injured Reserve, were declared questionable. The team will have to activate Sanders to the 53-man roster by 4 p.m. ET Saturday in order to play in the contest.’
Simon: Banged Up Bucs Team Coming To WNY
‘You can make the case that Tampa is more lucky than good. Their first four wins came by a total of nine points. Those victories over the Falcons, Jets, Texans and Seahawks all featured game winning drives in the final minute.’
Bills start week with lengthy injury report
‘Of the fourteen players listed on the team’s first injury report of the week, only two of them did not actually participate in practice, tight end Dalton Kincaid (hamstring) and defensive tackle Phadarian Mathis (shoulder).’
Bills sign wide receiver Mecole Hardman to practice squad
‘Hardman joins the Bills after having spent the early parts of the 2025 season in Green Bay with the Packers. While Hardman never played in the regular season with the Packers, he did spend some time on the team’s practice squad before being released in late September.’
Dalton Kincaid week-to-week with a hamstring
‘Kincaid left the Bills 30-13 loss to Miami early with the injury and did not return. Last season saw Kincaid miss three games due to injury, he dealt with a PCL sprain in his knee.’
Bills drown in Miami, throttled by Dolphins
‘The Bills appeared disjointed offensively from the start, and failed to produce much of anything until it was far too late in a 30-13 loss on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida.’
Allen, McDermott frustrated by loss to Dolphins
‘”I’ve got to be better,” said Allen. “Anytime you turn it over three times, two while driving into the red zone, that’s a recipe for disaster. Getting stopped on third and two, where I could have done something different didn’t really set us up great. It comes down to execution, and we didn’t execute.”‘
Opinion: Arrow Up/Arrow Dow: Bills at Dolphins
‘It was a struggle all afternoon for the Bills to really do anything on offense. The top rushing team in the NFL ran for just 87 yards. The passing game had no answers and the bills kept giving the ball away.’
Opinion: Simon: Bills get Squished By The Fish
‘It is a familiar theme, with an inability of wide receivers to get open. Allen is either making throws that are contested or is scrambling around, buying time while hoping he sees daylight between a target and the defender. Too many throws are behind the line of scrimmage or within two to three yards. Yards after catch are hard to come by because of the separation issue. Khalil Shakir is the Bills best wide receiver but passes to him are not going downfield. Shakir had just 58 yards on seven receptions.’
