Buffalo Bills at home in the snow in December? There’s nothing as certain as this streak

‘Buffalo hasn’t lost a December home game since Tom Brady and the Buccaneers got the better of the Bills in December of 2021.’

Bills stampede back to beat Bengals

‘Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills were able to come from behind in the fourth quarter against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, earning a 39-34 win on Sunday in a snow globe setting at Highmark Stadium.’

McDermott: Bills’ toughness was ‘on full display’ in win over Cincinnati

‘”The toughness of the football team was on display, full display. Taking it down to the wire. It’s a heck of a team, a well coached team. We have a lot of respect for them. Obviously, an elite quarterback, and we knew it was going to be tough. I thought the coaching staff did a phenomenal job of adjusting throughout the game and then coming up with some big plays, obviously at the end of the game with with Christian Benford, Jordan Phillips, with the tip pass on the A.J. [Epanesa] interception. And then Josh’s play overall, certainly the last play of the game, or close to the last play of the game… just phenomenal play on his Part. Super proud of him. Certainly still a lot to learn and things that we’ve got to do better. So we’ll get back to work on it this week.”‘

Allen emphasizes execution in Bills’ come-from-behind win over Bengals

‘”It comes down to guys executing and making plays and sometimes you have to play bigger for other people and you saw that on those back-to-back plays with Benford,” said Allen. “All we had to do was score one more point than them. It didn’t matter how we did and it didn’t matter how good or bad it looked. We just got to continue to find ways to win football games.”‘

Opinion: Capaccio: Arrow Up/Arrow Down: Bengals at Bills

‘A big story of this game was the Bills going for it and fourth down in critical situations, including at the Bengals 3-yard line, up four points, with a chance to go up 7 points with only 3:09 remaining. Instead, McDermott left the offense on the field and the result was a touchdown to take an 11-point lead. Earlier in the game, the Bills took a penalty on an extra point and moved it to the 1-yard line and went for two points instead of kicking. They converted. That proved to be critical, as well, and it was after going for a 4th and 4 from the Bengals 11-yard line. That also resulted in a touchdown.’

Opinion: Simon: In Josh We Trust

‘The Bills quarterback was doing vintage Josh Allen things during Sunday’s comeback win over the Cincinnati Bengals. For the second time this season, Allen put the Bills on his back and rallied the team to victory after trailing by 10 or more points in the fourth quarter. Don’t worry, I didn’t forget about the two HUGE plays from the defense but they have to take a back seat behind the reigning NFL MVP.’

Buffalo Bills offense shows playoff potential in win over Cincinnati Bengals

‘It didn’t unfold perhaps the way the guys from Orchard Park had envisioned, especially in the first half. But their “don’t blink” mantra kept them all together and able to surge in the second half.’

Buffalo Bills CB Christian Benford is no longer underrated, he’s becoming one of the best cornerbacks in NFL

‘When the Bills needed a play on Sunday, Benford delivered. He followed up his NFL Defensive Player of the Week performance against Pittsburgh with maybe an even more impressive game. Benford read Joe Burrow perfectly, jumping in front of a screen pass intended for Ja’Marr Chase, and returning it 63 yards for a touchdown. In the blink of an eye, a three-point deficit with five and a half minutes left became a four-point lead.’

Josh Allen breaks his own record in win over Bengals

‘He also ran for a pivotal 40-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter, breaking one of his own records in the process. That rushing touchdown is the longest-ever rushing touchdown by a Bills quarterback in the regular season in franchise history, eclipsing his own previous record — a 36-yard touchdown run against the New York Jets in 2022.’

John Murphy: In game of heroic performances, Allen rises to the top

‘They have problems to solve and injuries to deal with. But they have a quarterback who doesn’t blink and his teammates follow his lead.’

Today in Bills stadium history: Dec. 8

‘1985 — Jets 27, Bills 7 — Attendance was 23,122 at Rich Stadium for the final home game of an awful ’85 season for Buffalo. Winds swirled up to 15 mph, chilling the temperature to 24 degrees, but it was Ken O’Brien’s 96-yard touchdown pass to Wesley Walker that “took the sails out of our wind,” Bills coach Hank Bullough infamously said. O’Brien finished with 370 yards passing with two other touchdown passes to Mickey Shuler, and Johnny Hector had a rushing touchdown as the Jets jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first half and moved closer to clinching the AFC East title. Rod Hill intercepted O’Brien in the red zone to prevent the Jets from scoring before halftime, and Bruce Smith forced a fumble on the sixth sack of his rookie season. Bruce Mathison passed for 357 yards with two interceptions, and Greg Ball scored on an 8-yard run in the third quarter for the Bills, on their way to finishing 2-14 for the second year in a row. Buffalo’s franchise was revitalized by the arrival of Jim Kelly for the next game the Jets would play here to start the ’86 season.’

Benford, Epenesa interceptions fuel dramatic Bills comeback victory over Bengals

‘There was James Cook losing a fumble in the end zone, before Josh Allen did Josh Allen things with his legs. But it was two turnovers from the defense that left a lasting impact during a 39-34 victory against the Cincinnati Bengals.’

Carucci Take 2: Once again, Bills plug into resilience gene that defines them

‘That was how the Bills won. That was how they responded to adversity that threatened to make their path to the playoffs a steeper climb. That was how they remained true to form in a season in which more of the victories, beginning with a miraculous fourth-quarter comeback in Week One, have come the hard way. Call it the Bills Way.’

Bills take down Bengals in snowy shootout

‘Huge plays from both the offense and defense helped Josh Allen get his first career win over Joe Burrow and the Bengals.’

Thad Brown: Benford lightning bolt provides maybe last great Old Highmark memory

‘The last two weeks, Benford has found other ways to make CB1 level plays. You can argue the two turnovers against Pittsburgh were right place, right time good fortune. Not this interception against the Bengals. Benford took a point blank throw and picked it out of the air in the middle of barreling forward on a blitz. In the 4th quarter. Of a game his team was trailing by three.’
