Upon Further Review: How Khalil Shakir’s improving health led to his biggest game against Seahawks

‘The team’s ultra-reliable slot receiver finished with a game-high nine receptions for 107 yards in a 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.’

Bills go dime heavy on defense in win over Seahawks

‘Christian Benford, Rasul Douglas and Taron Johnson each played 48 defensive snaps in a 31-10 win at Lumen Field. That was 94% of the defensive total, with each taking the final series off with the game in hand. Cam Lewis played 22 snaps, which was 43% of the total.’

Position grades: Josh Allen’s play-action passes helped ignite Bills’ attack

‘Quarterback (5.0). It was another ruthlessly efficient game for the Bills quarterback. He now has 181 career TD passes, tying Joe Ferguson for second most in Bills history. On Allen’s interception, Amari Cooper slipped making his break on the slant, which prevented him from getting across the face of the cornerback. Bad luck.’

Joe Brady watch: Bills’ pass game clicked vs. Seattle in spread or with big personnel

‘The Bills’ passing game was effective whether they spread out the Seattle Seahawks or bunched them up in Sunday’s 31-10 victory. Josh Allen hit 16 of 22 passes for 193 yards from a three-wide personnel group (11 personnel). Allen was 8 of 11 for 90 yards with two or more tight ends or an extra offensive lineman on the field. The Bills found good matchups throughout the game against Seattle’s back seven defenders.’

Bills rookie receiver Keon Coleman’s bubbly personality already appealing to sponsors

‘Rookie Keon Coleman is not even a half season into his Bills playing career, and he has already become the spokesperson for at least two brands and is the inspiration behind one team-inspired group’s local winter clothing drive.’

Bills look to continue dominance over division rival in Week 9: What to know

‘The Dolphins are a middling run defense as they rank 16th in the league with an average yield of 123.7 yards per game. They have already lost outstanding edge rusher Jaelen Phillips for the season, and in their somewhat stunning final play 28-27 loss to Arizona Sunday, star safety Jevon Holland, always a hammer against the run, left the game with a knee injury.’

Bills PFF grades: Keon Coleman finishes with top-2 grade among all NFL WRs in win over Seahawks

‘Keon Coleman’s one-hand grab for a touchdown received plenty of well-earned accolades, but his run blocking against the Seahawks isn’t being talked about nearly enough. In the blowout win, Coleman received an elite grade (90.8) as a run blocker. Only former Bills WR Robert Woods posted a higher grade in this area (92.2). Below are just two examples of Coleman dominating Seahawks defenders in the blocking game.’

Under Further Review: Bills defense making a habit of buckling down in red zone

‘Once opponents enter the red zone, that’s when the Bills start to buckle down and they have been suffocating with their backs against the goal line, as the Seattle Seahawks traversed to the Bills’ 3-yard line or closer three times and came away with one touchdown in Buffalo’s 31-10 win Sunday. The Bills are giving up touchdowns on 44.4% of red zone trips — 33% over the last four games — which is the team’s best mark since Sean McDermott became head coach in 2017, allowing fewer than 50% just once (2022) during that time.’

Bills are building a physical identity by showing strength in the trenches after rout of Seahawks

‘“Winning the line of scrimmage, that’s where it starts every week,” McDermott said in opening his postgame news conference following a 31-10 win at Seattle on Sunday.’

Murphy: As Bills near midway point, they’re finding answers for many of season’s big questions

‘“Winning the line of scrimmage; that’s where it starts,” McDermott said after the game. “I thought our O-line and D-line did a great job.”’ Agreed.’

Bills notebook | Greg Rousseau’s stellar stretch, Josh Allen’s poise and looking ahead to Miami

‘”Greg did some really good things. He was physical at times where he needed to be physical. He got his hands up, affected some passes,” McDermott said of Rousseau’s day against the Seahawks.’
