Bills questions: What are the options if Tre White isn’t full go at the start of the year?

‘Jackson, a seventh-round pick in 2020, bounced between the practice squad and active roster as a rookie before starting last season as the top backup to White and Levi Wallace. “Dane’s a winner and whether it was his first season when he played through splashes of time, he went out there and performed and that’s hard to do as a rookie,” head coach Sean McDermott said. “Then last season as well. Tre goes down, Dane steps in, finished off the Saints game, and didn’t miss a beat. So are there things he can do better? Yeah, and he’s working his butt off to do that. There are things we can all do better, but that’s what I love about Dane is he’s committed. He’s one of the first ones here every morning, one of the last to leave. Comes in on his own, even on the weekends at times, and he’s a true pro.”’

Von Miller looks to replicate feat with Bills that was accomplished by NFL all-time sack leader Bruce Smith

‘Smith signed a six-year, $28.2 million deal with the Bills in 1997 — but didn’t get to see the whole deal in Buffalo as a result of a salary cap dump after the 1999 season. He landed a five-year, $23 million deal with Washington in 2000 at 37 years old, playing on a contract that kept him in an NFL uniform until he was 41. Smith was released heading into the final year of his contract (at age 40), but hinted he was going to retire prior to his release. The 29 sacks Smith put up in Washington allowed him to become the league’s all-time sack leader, notching 200 sacks in a 19-year career. ‘

Bills’ Jordan Poyer says no ‘better situation’ for him than Buffalo right now, has sights on a championship

‘”The team is just such a really cool group of guys. I always tell the rookies when they come in, ‘You really won’t ever be around a better group of men,’ Just the relationships that we built in Buffalo … those are relationships that we’ve built over the years that’s really second to none, and I can’t really think of a better situation for me to be in than Buffalo right now,” Poyer said.’

Von Miller Says He Intends to Fulfill Six-Year Bills Contract

‘”This is a six-year deal, so I’m looking forward to playing the whole thing,” Miller told the Buffalo News last month at minicamp. “I’m trying to play the whole thing out. Tom Brady’s done it. Bruce Smith has done it. All the guys that I look up to when it comes to longevity in careers. So I just take it one day at a time, and I’m just gonna take whatever God gives me. My intention is to play the whole thing out.”‘
