Senior Bowl week: Some prospects for Bills fans to watch

‘In fact, the Bills have drafted 15 players over the past four years who have played in the game.’

Bills’ Josh Allen had perfect response to Bengals-Chiefs overtime coin toss

‘Kansas City would receive the ball and go on to turn the ball over to the Bengals with their drive lasting 13 seconds. Yes, 13 seconds.’

Why Peyton Manning yelled ‘Go Bills!’ on Saturday Night Live

‘“Go Bills!” Manning yelled. “They’re still in it, right?”’

Josh Allen’s one-word post sends Twitter into frenzy during AFC championship

‘“Pain,” Allen wrote in tweet that was retweeted more than 55,000 times.’

Emmanuel Sanders’ wife Gabby pays tribute to Bills wideout: ‘A winner to me’

‘“Although you didn’t get to bring a Ring to the team & city who deserved it most this season, you completed year 12 of your career, played in 3 Super Bowls, got a ring, a 3x probowler and just played in your 7th round of playoffs in the NFL,” the stylist and kids fashion designer wrote alongside a photo with Sanders at Arrowhead Stadium. “A playoff game that is, arguably, the best the NFL has seen.”‘

What’s next for QB Mitchell Trubisky? His year as Bills backup will help him decide

‘“I think every quarterback’s goal is to be a starter and be the best quarterback you could possibly be,” Trubisky told The News earlier this month. “So that’s definitely the end goal. But right now, it’s different just having tunnel vision to finish the season strong.”’

Bills Mailbag: Trying to explain the inexplicable – what happened in those ’13 seconds’

‘Yes, the Bills absolutely should have kicked off high and just short of the goal line, necessitating a return that would have burned precious seconds off the clock. There is some danger in doing that, of course, but the Bills ranked third in the NFL in average kickoff return allowed in the regular season (18.0 yards). In short, they were really good at covering that exact kick all season’

With Brian Daboll gone, finding the right offensive coordinator is imperative for Bills

‘If the Bills can convince Dorsey to stay as their new coordinator, wouldn’t calling plays for Allen and this dynamic offense be more inviting than trying to remake Daniel Jones and the moribund Giants offense?’

Buffalo Bills’ OC options include Ken Dorsey, Pep Hamilton, Doug Pederson, Zac Robinson, more

‘Dorsey’s decision could come down to money, but he seems to be Josh Allen’s top choice to take over.’

Stefon Diggs, Bills players react to Giants hiring Brian Daboll

‘“He handles everything the right way,” said Diggs. “He comes at you from all angles, not just as a player as a coach, but a guy that understands the game, and he’s a professional,” Diggs said. “He’s serious about it and he’s passionate. I love playing for him. So that’s why I don’t want to give you too good of a pitch.”’

New York Giants fans donating money to Oishei Children’s Hospital after Daboll, Schoen hires

‘The hospital says since the divisional round game, over $442,000 have been donated by nearly 20,000 donors to the hospital.’

What They’re Saying | NFL analysts assess the Bills’ future in 2022 & beyond

‘”We talk about this window of opportunity. That was one of the speeches that I gave the team this past training camp. There’s a window of opportunity for every team. And sometimes you don’t have control over that window. But what you can’t control, is right here and right now. And we have a nucleus, led by Sean McDermott and this rising superstar in Josh Allen, to make sure we capitalize on this window of opportunity. Because you never know what’s going to happen two, three, four years from now.”‘

Beane reflects on Bills crushing defeat by Chiefs

‘He added, “At the end of the day, we didn’t get it done. There’s nothing I can say that’s going to fix it. I wish I could, I’ve thought about it a million times. I can promise you that we’re going to learn about it as an organization.”‘

On the move: Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll named New York Giants’ new head coach

‘It’ll be on Daboll to straighten Jones out. Undoubtedly, the job Daboll did with Allen led him to this moment. Under Daboll, the Bills finished 30th in both total yards (298.6) and points (16.8) during Allen’s rookie season, but showed some improvement the following season – jumping to 24th in yards (330.2) and 23rd in points (19.6) – before exploding the past two seasons. The Bills ranked second in both yards (396.4) and points (31.3) in 2020 and backed that up by finishing fifth in yards (381.9) and third in points (28.4) this past regular season.’

Chiefs fans donate $411K to Oishei Children’s Hospital, approach largest Bills Mafia campaigns

‘Most of the donations are for $13 to commemorate the comeback, $17 for Allen’s jersey number and $32 for Allen’s and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ numbers combined. Oishei has also received donations in $117 and $1,017 increments. The total surpassed $400,000 Thursday.’

The Editorial Board: Deciding playoff games with a coin toss shows league needs overtime rules reset

‘During that offseason, Kansas City proposed to change the overtime rules to allow both teams the opportunity to have the ball at least once, even if the first try ends in a touchdown. Their plan also included the elimination of the overtime coin toss, awarding possession choice to the team that won the toss to start the game. That, and other proposals in recent years, went nowhere.’

My View: Bills foiled again, but fans hang tough

‘The Bills were 13 seconds away from the AFC Championship Game. The score was 36-33, the Bills leading. I sat there and told my wife, “the game isn’t over.” She mocked me with “oh, ye of little faith.” I told her I have been a Bills fans since I was 13 years old, I’m now 70. Thirteen years old and 13 seconds on the clock. Something was telling me don’t get the parade route ready.’

Maiorana: Here’s my idea to fix the NFL’s inequitable overtime rules

‘Get rid of the coin toss and the kickoff. The home team automatically gets the choice of whether to take the ball first starting at its own 25 (same as if there was a touchback), or start on defense. This decision would add even more importance and incentive to winning as many regular season games as you can to get homefield advantage in the playoffs.’

Giants hire former Bills OC Brian Daboll as next head coach

‘This is the third time the duo have worked together in the league. They were both in the Miami Dolphins organization in 2011 and they reunited in Buffalo when Daboll became the team’s offensive coordinator in 2018.’

Five takes: Bills preparing for critical offseason with one goal in mind — beat the Chiefs

‘At running back, Devin Singletary put forth the best season of his career while helping the Bills running game transform itself into one of the most productive in the league by the time Buffalo’s season reached its conclusion. Beyond Singletary, it would behoove Buffalo to add a complementary talent that can provide the Bills with another skill set at the position. Specifically, that skillset must include elite speed, of which the Buffalo offense has been lacking an adequate amount over the past number of seasons.’

Leslie Frazier remains with Bills as Bears hire Eberflus, Giants name Daboll head coach

‘Frazier, 62, was the Bengals’ defensive coordinator under Marvin Lewis in 2003 and 2004. He was the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings from 2010 to 2013, when he was replaced by then-Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. Zimmer was dismissed by the Vikings earlier this week.’

You’ve gotta Billieve in ‘Next Year’

‘All I know is that my dog watched with lazy curiosity as I paced back and forth, clutched my hands in prayer, covered my eyes, leaped to my feet and screamed various versions of “YES!” … “Nooooo!” … “Gogogogogogo!” … and “GET that guy! You gotta burn that guy DOWN!” at the television screen.’

Report: Bills QB Coach Ken Dorsey a Candidate for Two Offensive Coordinator Jobs

‘ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Friday night that Dorsey is also in play to become the offensive coordinator under Daboll in New York, where he would have the opportunity to work alongside another young quarterback in Daniel Jones.’

Giants hire Brian Daboll as head coach

‘Daboll is the only offensive coordinator quarterback Josh Allen has had since entering the league in 2018 and is widely viewed as extremely instrumental in the QB’s development and success.’

New York Giants hire Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll as head coach

‘Daboll, 46, served as offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, and Kansas City Chiefs prior to joining the Bills.’

Report: Buffalo Bills QBs coach Ken Dorsey viewed as frontrunner for offensive coordinator job

‘Dorsey, 40, played in the NFL for San Francisco and Cleveland as a quarterback and as a quarterbacks coach for the Carolina Panthers and the Buffalo Bills.’

Poloncarz: Unclear if new stadium deal for Buffalo Bills will get done on governor’s timeline

‘”I’m not going to say we are going to get it done based on any particular time associated with what the governor wants,” Poloncarz said. “But I think we’ve made a lot of progress in recent weeks.”‘

Bills fan spreads Buffalove, gives away two AFC Championship Game tickets to Bengals fan

‘As a way to cope with the Bills season coming to an abrupt end in overtime, O’Reilly went online and bought two tickets to the AFC Championship Game in Kansas City, knowing the Bills weren’t going but wanting to make someone’s playoff dreams come true.’

Bills OC Brian Daboll hired as new Giants head coach

‘Daboll now heads to the Giants where, for now, he’ll lead a young offense with Daniel Jones at quarterback. No doubt New York is hoping he’ll do the same work for them and their quarterback, whomever that might be, that he did for Allen and the Bills in the four seasons he coached there.’

Brian Daboll hired as new Giants head coach

‘”Sean and I have talked about a list of candidates,” Bills general manager Brandon Beane said. “If you lose Brian Daboll, if you lose Leslie Frazier, the rules are such, no matter what, you have to interview from the outside for the coordinator positions. We will follow those rules. We have a list of some guys, but we have to wait, we are in a wait-and-see mode.”‘

Poloncarz provides Bills stadium deal update

‘However, if there is a final price tag before the new fiscal year in April, state money can be put into the final budget, which still needs to get approved.’

Donations to Oishei Children’s Hospital continue to climb following Buffalo Bills playoff loss

‘As of Friday morning, Oishei Children’s Hospital says over $404,500 has been donated to the Patricia Allen Fund thus far, with a majority of donations coming from the Kansas City area, many in increments of $13. Nearly 18,000 people have donated to the hospital so far.’

Brian Daboll takes Giants Head Coaching Job

‘We knew it was only a matter of time.’

Analysis: Last year, the Bills had a goal of running it back – this year, it’s not so simple

‘That process has already started. The front office conducted personnel meetings on both sides of the ball this week, following Sunday’s 42-36 loss to the Chiefs in an AFC divisional playoff game. Despite the heart-breaking nature of the defeat, Beane will need to take an objective look at his roster when deciding who to bring back. The Bills are scheduled to have 15 unrestricted free agents in March, along with two restricted free agents (Justin Zimmer and Ryan Bates) and one exclusive-rights free agent (Tyrel Dodson).’

Bills QB Josh Allen to forgo Pro Bowl

‘”The type of quarterback I am, I obtain a lot of bumps and bruises along the road of a season, so I will use this time to let my body heal.”‘

Voice of the Fan: It takes guts to be a Bills fan, because they will be ripped out of you

‘But this one hurt. This one will leave some scars that will likely never go away, at least until the Bills hoist the Lombardi Trophy. It’s coming.’

The Bills won another AFC East title, but 2021 came to a heartbreaking end

‘And so, once again, the Vince Lombardi Trophy will not be taking up residence at One Bills Drive in a year when it sure seemed like the fates were aligning and Buffalo was going to have its best chance at Super Bowl glory since Scott Norwood’s field goal sailed wide right 31 years earlier.’

He drove 6.5 hours to every Bills home game. 13 seconds won’t stop him from doing it again.

‘Do people in Virginia say he’s nuts to spend all this mileage, all this time, all this energy on a football team? “Yes,” he said. “But I don’t think they understand what Buffalo is like and who the people are. Sitting around the same people and sharing the same feeling of love for that team. It’s something you can’t get down here.” The love of the team counts a lot to Kelly, and he considers anyone who shares that love to be part of his extended family.
