Inside the Bills: Special teams quietly playing integral part during 3-0 start

‘“I feel like I got a good understanding of what our players do and how they excel, what they do better, what they do well,” Farwell said. “From a player’s perspective, when I could settle myself down, the game was slower and I could make more plays and I could do the right thing. I look at it the same way as a coach. When I settle down and feel comfortable in it and believe in what I’m doing, it allows me to call the game better. I try to stay even keel and make sure I’m in the moment.”’

Notebook: Bills waive CB Cam Lewis, a sign Josh Norman’s return could be near

‘Provided Lewis clears waivers, he could return to the team’s practice squad by Saturday.’

X’s and O’s: Pressure key for Bills vs. quick-release QB Derek Carr

‘Raiders coach Jon Gruden pooh-poohed the question of Carr’s aggressiveness this week and acknowledged that the Raiders’ receiving cast before this season has not exactly been the Fastest Show on Turf.’

How will the Buffalo Bills fare against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday?

‘Derek Carr is capable of getting a hot hand as a passer, but he doesn’t have the targets to pose enough of a threat to outduel Josh Allen, who figures to have yet another big game throwing and running. Bills, 31-23.’

View from Vegas: Raiders have edge against spread vs. Bills

‘According to our well-oiled machine, teams that are 3-0 are just 28-44-3 against the spread on the road in nondivision battles in Week 4 since 1980, including 10-37 straight up and 16-30-1 against the spread when not favored by four or more points. Toss in the fact that the Bills were outgained by more than 100 yards in last week’s victory against the Rams, and suddenly it appears there is a price to pay.’

‘Super smart’ Gabriel Davis enables Bills to expand dangerous passing attack

‘“He’s very intelligent, not just … you know he’s book smart, but he’s also very football savvy for a young player,” said offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. “He understands the game. He understands leverage and angles and stems. We’ve put a lot on his plate since he’s been here. He’s done a really good job.”’

Josh Allen named AFC offensive player of the month – how did this happen?

‘Yes, it was easy to see that Allen had a great chance to be the best version of himself that we’ve seen since the Bills made him the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 draft. Easy to see that he would take the next step forward, one that anyone who is being counted on to be a franchise quarterback, must take if he hopes to reach that pedestal.’

Ed Oliver: Bills DT’s knee structurally sound, considered day-to-day (report)

‘Oliver, 22, has been dealing with the injury since Week 2 when his leg collided with Dolphins running back Jordan Howard. Oliver was held out of practice last Wednesday, but would go on to be a limited participant on Thursday and a full participant on the Friday before the Los Angeles Rams game.’

Bills release CB Cam Lewis; Josh Norman practices for 2nd straight day

‘The expectation going into the season was that Norman would emerge out of camp as the Bills starter at cornerback opposite All Pro Tre’Davious White. When he went down during the team’s first scrimmage after an interception, the Bills turned back to Levi Wallace, who started all 16 games for the Bills last year.’

Nike’s new Buffalo Bills sneaker Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 37 is here | How to buy it

‘The sneakers go for $129.99, and can be ordered on Fanatics.com starting at 10 a.m. ET.’

Bills alumni agree to ‘Sponsor a Cage’ for SPCA

‘While they’re giving a plug to Cure the Blue, a charity they’re big on, Edgerson said, “Our main focus is dealing with the SPCA, because we know they need help. Any time you look around, you watch TV, you see these animals are suffering and I’ve seen it all the time, and I was talking to Gary (Hoy) and I said ‘What can we do, as a group? We’ve been helping people all along, so, how can we help the animals?’”’

3-0 Buffalo Bills not on local TV again (updated)

‘You don’t need to tell local Buffalo Bills fans, who refer to themselves as the “Bills’ Mafia,” which of the three telecasts won’t be seen.’

Derek Carr, Josh Allen meet again when Raiders host Bills

‘Carr was the star quarterback for the Bulldogs at the time, while Allen was a scrawny high school kid hoping to get a scholarship offer from his local college and follow in Carr’s footsteps.’

Bills Visit Raiders In Search Of 2nd Straight 4-0 Start

‘The Bills are 1-11 in their last 12 road games against the Raiders with the only win in the past 54 seasons coming in 1991 in Los Angeles.’

Bills QB Josh Allen admits he did something to a ref in Week 3 that’s likely going to lead to a hefty fine

‘Allen’s poor decision came during the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s 35-32 win over the Rams on Sunday. With just under eight minutes left to play, the Bills quarterback did something he almost instantly regretted: He cussed out an official.’

Bills get healthier on Thursday; Cam Lewis released

‘Wide receiver John Brown, left tackle Dion Dawkins, safety Micah Hyde, defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson, and linebacker Del’Shawn Phillips were all listed as “DNP” on Wednesday, but all participated in some capacity on Thursday.’

Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Month

‘Allen is the first Bills player to be named AFC Offensive Player of the Month since quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick earned the honor back in September of 2011, and only the second since September of 2002 when Drew Bledsoe won the award.’

Josh Allen wins AFC Offensive Player of the Month

‘Allen currently leads the AFC in passing yards (1,038), passing touchdowns (10) and passer rating (124.8).’

“The sky’s always gonna be the limit for him”, WR Gabriel Davis has ultimate fan in mother Alana

‘”I watched her work and sacrifice a lot for us,” Gabriel said. “The biggest thing I felt like she taught me was don’t ever let anybody tell you you can’t do anything.”‘

Tracking the origins of Josh Allen apology forms on social media

‘The apology form was created by Rich Pierce. South Bay Los Angeles Bills Backers co-president Dan Godwin was the first to share it on Twitter. Since then, it’s been in mentions and replies as Allen has continued to make plays early in 2020.’

Bills QB Josh Allen and OC Brian Daboll bond over their highly competitive nature

‘A lot of this also has to do with how offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is utilizing his wide receivers. As we knew coming into the season, Allen was going to have a lot of weapons around him and because of that talent, we’ve seen a lot of 10 personnel and 11 personnel throughout games, further proving how far this offense has already come.’

Bills rookie AJ Epenesa continues to learn from veteran D-Line room

‘“Discouraging, I wouldn’t say that, but it was a motivation. I didn’t have OTA’s, preseason, rookie minicamp, the list goes on of things this rookie class wasn’t able to do,” Epenesa said to reporters on Zoom on Thursday. “Week one, game one, just coming fresh off of camp, I’m still making strides, still working to get better every single day and maybe it just wasn’t time to get in yet, and I just needed another week of preparation. I used it as something to push me to keep working harder for the next week.”’

Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Month

‘Over the season’s first three games, which all ended in Bills victories, Allen threw for 1,038 yards and helped score 12 touchdowns.’

Raiders HC Jon Gruden: “Josh Allen is a problem for everybody”

‘“This guy is something else. It starts right there. Allen is a problem for everybody. He can make the throws that you can dream about. He’s powerful. He’s got a rocket. He’s smart. He’s everything you’re looking for at the quarterback position, and they’ve surrounded him with an arsenal of good players,” Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said. “Speed and the acquisition of Diggs gives them a guy that can really hurt you down field.’

Bills Injury Report: October 1st

‘Defensive tackle Ed Oliver did not practice on Thursday with a knee injury, and is considered day-to-day. Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was a full-go at practice on Thursday.’

Former Bills players help sponsor a cage at the Niagara County SPCA

‘Bills alumni, Booker Edgerson, Ken Jones, and Lou Piccone came together at the Niagara County SPCA to help homeless animals in need.’

Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Month

‘The team also shared some of Allen’s stats for the month of September and three weeks into the season: Josh Allen currently leads the AFC in passing yards (1,038), passing touchdowns (10) and passer rating (124.8).’

Teammates proud of Josh Allen’s AFC honor

‘“It’s a huge honor and to see Josh get it it’s amazing,” said Hyde. Everyone around this building loves Josh. He’s not going to be a surprise to anybody now. Everybody knows with these three weeks what Josh Allen has done to some pretty good defenses, so no one is going to be sleeping on him. I’m happy for him just continue to go out there and play with as much confidence as possible.”‘

Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Month

‘The last Bills player named AFC Player of the Month was safety Micah Hyde, who earned the defensive recognition back in November of 2017.’

Gabriel Davis’ longtime NFL goals are the rookie’s reality in Buffalo

‘“I’ve known since I was little that this was my dream and I knew I was going to achieve everything I wanted to achieve,” said Davis. “I found that out at a young age that I was blessed to have the mindset I have now.”’

Epenesa progressing quickly thanks Bills bounty of ‘resources’

‘The extra week of prep helped Epenesa learn the defense a bit better and get his conditioning ready to handle NFL caliber opposition. He said the “physical” part of the transition from college–the bigger, faster players–has been the hardest part.’

Josh Allen: AFC Player of Month

‘Allen has had 300 plus passing yards in every game, including a 417-yard effort in the win in Miami in week two.’

Mother’s Day, Hooters and Larry Fitzgerald: The Gabriel Davis story

‘”I was at Hooters watching Larry Fitzgerald score a touchdown against the Steelers in the Super Bowl,” smiled Davis. “He made me want to play the game. He made it look like that was a lot of fun.”‘

How will the postponed Titans game affect the Bills?

‘”I wouldn’t really say it’s an advantage or disadvantage, it’s the NFL you have to prepare accordingly,” Hyde said. “I’m sure they’ve been going through a whole bunch of madness with the positive tests and all that stuff right now. They can probably sit back and relax this week, let everybody get in the building and get to practice next week, but I don’t think it’s really an advantage or disadvantage.”‘

Josh Allen named AFC Offensive Player of the Month

‘He is the first player to earn this honor since former Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2011.’

Bills release cornerback Cam Lewis

‘Lewis played in all three games to start the 2020 season. During his four years at Buffalo, Lewis recorded 156 tackles, five interceptions, four tackles for loss, 22 passes defensed and three forced fumbles.’

The evolution of Buffalo’s prolific passing attack

‘”You’re also seeing beautiful play design in the offense by Brian Daboll, who has done a wonderful job crafting this scheme around Josh Allen. But when you have talent and trust and you’re starting to see him throw with touch as well… good luck. Good luck trying to slow that down. That wasn’t a bad defense they went against in the Rams and they went up and down the field on them.”‘

Bills Today | ESPN analyst assesses Buffalo’s playoff chances

‘What he has accomplished so far shows that he has the ability to reach what appeared to be an impossible ceiling coming out of school and that he’s a lot closer to realizing that potential on a regular basis than I expected after last season. If he can be this guy week in and week out, the Bills have a credible case as one of the three or four best teams in football.’
