‘Listed at 6-foot-1 and 192 pounds, Unamba initially signed with St. Louis following the NFL draft before being cut by the Rams in June. He played college at Southern Arkansas, where he had three interceptions and a school-record 17 pass breakups in 11 starts last season.’

‘”I’m not worried at all. I just think it’s not that serious,” said Williams.’

‘Williams is well on his way to becoming a law enforcement officer in Texas. He has the diploma to prove it. But right now, state regulators are investigating if Lone Star College gave him special treatment to help him get that degree.’

‘On the field, some players made some strides and even got more time than they have before.’

‘Chandler was going through receiving drills on Tuesday when he had to come off the field with a trainer, and immediately got on the exercise bike. The head coach said if it doesn’t feel strong enough, they’d rather err on the side of caution. Chandler, along with Williams, was dressed in full pads, but instead did drills along the sideline with a member of the strength & conditioning staff.’

‘Williams was asked if this might flare up like his wrist injury last year and he said, “No, I’m not worried about that. It’s not that serious, I mean everybody, I understand, I appreciate the concern, I’m alright.”

‘”Sometimes you get guys that are overbearing and that think they know it all and want to tell you what to do” Kolb said. “I don’t do that to EJ. I want to be there for him when he says ‘shoot this is tough’. I don’t want to be there for him going ‘you should have thrown it here’. That’s all simple things you can write down from the coach. I just want to be here for things that maybe he just didn’t expect and I can tell him I’ve been through that before and just know that everybody goes through that.”‘

‘Unamba was signed as an undrafted free agent by the St. Louis Rams following the 2013 NFL Draft before being released on June 14th. The 6-1, 192-pound Southern Arkansas product finished fifth on the team with 47 tackles (37 solo) in 2012 and added three interceptions while setting a school-record with 17 pass break-ups in 11 starts.’

‘At the end of the day, the coach handles all the injuries. However he goes about handling it, like I said, that’s out of my control. We’re told from day one, from our policies and how we run, that anything involving, like I said, any ailments is discussed and brought to attention by him. We’re all in this thing together. We’re all on the same page. However he portrays it you guys, I don’t know, but I know I got to honor my word and honor him as far as going off and just saying stuff. That’s the way he wants it ran, that’s how it’s gonna be ran.’

‘He’s done a nice job. He has been indecisive at times, there’s still some inconsistency there. You need to remember he’s still a developing quarterback. Today, he made a nice check and was able to throw or make a good decision and get the ball down. You’re seeing good signs about how he’s progressing. And then obviously, as coaches, we are striving for the perfect player.’

‘”I think you’re seeing what we talked about before,” said head coach Doug Marrone. “We’re starting to throw more stuff at him. We’re seeing some good things and then there are things he has to improve on, but he’s coming along nicely.”‘

‘The Bills top pass rusher said it is both his philosophy and was the team’s medical suggestion to seek a second opinion, so he did. Williams took the same approach last year with his ailing left wrist, which did lead to surgery. The defensive end isn’t worried about that being the case with this particular injury.’
