Giddens played high school football at Glencliff before enrolling at TSU. He led the Tigers in interceptions each of the past two seasons and finished his career with 11 pickoffs. He led the Tigers in tackles with 82 his junior season. He was a second-team All-OVC selection in 2003 after earning first team All-OVC the previous season.

Nevada Sends Four To NFL; Cordova Goes In Third Round

Towns, a first-team All-WAC selectin last fall, signed Monday with Buffalo. The Pasadena, Calif., native was the leading tackler the past four years for Nevada and ranks third all-time in tackles. He was named the Coaches’ Award winner at the annual football brunch.

NFL Teams Load Up on Cougar Free Agents

Acholonu racked up 16.5 sacks as a senior in 2003, which tied for the national lead. The, Seattle, Wash., native’s 32.5 career sacks is second all-time at WSU. Acholonu forced eight fumbles and recovered five during his four years on the Palouse.

Brian Gaither, Nick McNeil and Michale Spicer Sign NFL Free Agent Contracts

Spicer, a two time All-SoCon pick and 2002 All-American selection, shattered the Western record for career tackles for losses (58), while finishing with 29 career sacks, one sack shy of Louis Cooper’s school record.

Hafford, Phillips Sign Free Agent Deals

Phillips agreed to terms with the Bills following Sunday’s draft and will report to Buffalo later this week for a rookie mini-camp. The 6-5, 300-pound offensive tackle started the final 33 games of his SFA career and did not allow a sack over the past two seasons. He was also a first team all-conference and Region VI CoSIDA Academic All-America selection in 2003.

Sigler Signs Free Agent Contract With The Buffalo Bills

In both 2003 and 2002, Sigler earned second team All-Big Sky Conference honors as an offensive tackle and first team Verizon Academic All-District VIII honors. He was also named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team for the third time as a senior in 2004. He was chosen to play in four different college all-star games and played in two – the 65th Blue-Gray Game and The Villages Gridiron Classic.

Isaac Mitchell Signs Free Agent Contract with Buffalo

He also broke Merrill Hoge’s long-standing career record for rushing touchdowns, recording 34 in his career, and his 216 carries last season broke Hoge’s previous school record of 213.
