Two Bills Drive

‘With an assist from former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, authorities are planning to step up efforts to find a missing 25-year-old Attica man.’

‘Jaguars spokesman Dan Edwards said the permission was granted Wednesday but he didn’t know when Capers planned to meet with Bills general manager Tom Donahoe, currently attending the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.’

Eric Moulds (#1 WR), Steve Christie (#4 K), Marcus Spriggs (#3 OT) & Marcellus Wiley (#4 DE) are all listed. According to this report, the Bills are listed at $13.9 million over the salary cap (4th most in the NFL).

‘The NFL owners have approved a new revenue sharing plan which shares equally visitor gate receipts. Buffalo owner Ralph Wilson said realignment still won’t be easy, but that pooling visitors’ revenues will be helpful.’

Michael Vick signed a contract with Kelly Enterprises today. Kelly Enterprises will provide exclusive marketing services, such as endorsement deals and public relation events. Jim’s brother, Dan, will handle contract negotiations along with the Joel Enterprises firm.

Nice article in the Boston Globe about Sam Gash finally getting to play in a Super Bowl. How could you not be happy for the guy? Here is a quote: ‘Gash left New England bitter, signed with the division rival Bills, and became a two-time Pro Bowl player by doing the same things he’d done for Parcells and was willing to do for Carroll. ESPN has just reported that the Jacksonville Jaguars have given the Bills permission to speak with Defensive Coordinator Dom Capers. Capers was a former head coach in Carolina, and a former DC in Pittsburgh under Donahoe.

‘Bills defensive end Marcellus Wiley, an unrestricted free agent, has made mention of his fondness for former general manager John Butler, who has since taken the position in San Diego. Although Butler refuses to comment on Wiley because he remains employed by the Bills, it’s pretty clear he could be pursued by the Chargers once the free-agent season opens.’

‘Joel Buchsbaum: Donahoe apparently wants Capers to be his head coach, but there could be a problem with the African-American players, who, if there’s a defensive coach hired, they want it to be Ted Cottrell. Cottrell interviewed with the new Houston franchise this week.’

‘The Buffalo Bills will be back on WGRF-FM 97 Rock through the 2004 season.’
