Two Bills Drive

Every week of the 2001 season, the Pro Football Hall of Fame lets you submit questions to Hall of Fame legends as part of our Spotlight Game coverage. Johnson finished 23-of-30 passing for 238 yards and a 27-yard third-quarter touchdown to Eric Moulds. More important, he directed an offense that controlled the ball for 35 minutes and 34 second without turning the ball over and converted six third-down opportunities in 14 tries.

While Thursday night’s game didn’t have much flash and dash for the Bills, it was a hard fought win filled with efficient play for the offense, and much improved play for the defense that led to the 13-10 win. It did come down to a rather important special teams play for the Bills to win the game.

‘Although it wasn’t altogether pretty, Buffalo found a way to capitalize and not squander its opportunities.’

‘Henry’s agent, Timothy McGee, said his client has fully cooperated with police. "It’s an investigation and we know the facts," McGee said. "Quite honestly, it’s the magnitude of his status that’s causing the commotion. We feel comfortable that nothing will come out of it. There’s nothing wrong with being investigated. Unfortunately, it was made public."’

‘You see this is exactly the kind of game Buffalo would have lost over the first quarter of the campaign.’

Along with Vikings WR Cris Carter, safety Henry Jones were fined $5,000 each by the NFL. Jones had a helmet-to-helmet hit on Lions quarterback Charlie Batch in the second quarter.
