I think this year is going to be a lot more organized. With the continuity of the offense and running those same plays over and over again during preseason and practices there will be less mistakes, breakdowns and hopefully be more organized. A lot of times last year, you’d have 10 seconds at the line of scrimmage, if that, and me and Doug were rushed.

Practices will have some kick
‘There will be a heavy emphasis placed on special teams when the Bills travel to Edinboro, Pa., to practice and scrimmage against the Cleveland Browns.’
New camp, new start for Black
‘Black thinks about last season every day. He thinks about the 14 regular-season games where he didn’t put on a blue or white jersey. He thinks about the two games where he saw limited action as a kick returner. But mostly he thinks about his preseason botches because those have become his greatest weapon – motivation.’
Johnson gets some time off to rest arm
‘Buffalo Bills quarterback Rob Johnson was given the morning off Thursday, in part to keep his arm fresh and also because coach Gregg Williams is pleased with his development.’
Buffalo Bills enter deal with Erie, Pa., dairy
‘The Buffalo Bills entered into an agreement with Meadow Brook Dairy, based in Erie, Pa., to serve as the teams official sponsor in the dairy category.’
Moulds wins appeal of contempt ruling
‘George County Chancery Judge Pat Watts Jr. had sentenced Moulds to 90 days In jail, with 60 days suspended, for delaying child support payments to the Mother of his then-8-year-old son, Randy. The Supreme Court ruled Watts Erred by not giving Moulds due process, including a hearing on the criminal Contempt charge.’
AFC East at a glance
‘Camp priorities: Adjusting to a new coaching staff, developing a better offensive line, finding defensive linemen, and getting Sam Cowart used to his new position at middle linebacker.’
Johnson, team welcome scrimmage
‘Johnson won’t see a lot of time in the scrimmage tomorrow — probably one 12-play series with the first-team offense at the start — but he will have regular repetitions during today’s two practices as he test drives the new West Coast offense against foreign competition.’
Flowers intent on proving Bills right
‘Drafted on the first round (26th overall) in large part because of his explosive speed off the snap of the ball, Flowers made minimal contributions to the Buffalo Bills defensive line as a rookie. He played in all 16 games at defensive end (no starts) but made just two sacks and was in on only 23 tackles.’
Simply Marvelous
‘"I think you take on the personality of your head coach, and we took on Marv’s," said Jim Kelly, the quarterback of those great Bills teams. "He taught us it was OK to mourn those losses for awhile, but then it was time to pick yourself up and move on."’
Moulds avoids jail in Miss.
‘Buffalo Bills star receiver Eric Moulds has dodged a 30-day jail term for contempt of court for delaying child support payments in Jackson, Miss.’
Marv Levy made his own history
‘"Ronald Reagan was dubbed The Great Communicator," said Colts president Bill Polian, who was the Bills’ general manager for seven of Levy’s 12 seasons with the team. "Marv ought to be dubbed The Great Communicator 1A. He can reach any audience, any time, on virtually any subject."’

Jones couldn't change the tune of 'The Music City Miracle'
‘Before the dam broke, Phillips was going to move Jones to defensive coordinator, a position he excelled at during stints with Ryan at Philadelphia and Arizona.’
