Two Bills Drive

‘Bills coach Gregg Williams said Henry’s ribs were “very sore” but not broken. He said Henry would be re-evaluated Monday.’

‘”I certainly didn’t think that we would come out and play the way we did,” Bledsoe said. “I thought we would play better than we did. They had a good plan for us and they changed some things up on us which they haven’t done in three or four years.”‘

‘”The way Miami controlled the line of scrimmage, especially against our offense, made it a long night for our defense,” said Bills head coach Gregg Williams. “They were able to play on the short field most of the night and Ricky was able to pop a few runs late in the game and they were able to put the game away.”‘

‘Henry was hurt in the first half of the 17-7 loss and did not return. He will be further evaluated on Monday.’

‘With two interceptions tonight, Bills CB Nate Clements now has six interceptions over his last three games against the Dolphins, including two for touchdowns. In addition to his 54-yard return for a score tonight, he brought one back 29 yards on October 20 of last year at Pro Player Stadium when he picked off a Ray Lucas pass.’

‘”We got real physical with these guys and the defensive line did a terrific job up front and really got after the quarterback. When everything comes together like it did tonight you’re going to have a great defensive game and we did.”‘

‘What was your view on Drew Bledsoe’s interception in the end zone?

“One of our coaches upstairs said our receiver got thrown down. He came back and tried to make a play over the top of the back line of the end zone but we underthrew the pass.”‘

‘What you should look for: The Dolphins will try to wear down the Bills’ defense with heavy doses of Ricky Williams, the league’s defending rushing champion, and the Bills are eager to see if Miami will continue using single coverage on receiver Eric Moulds, who has burned the Dolphins in the past.’

‘Outcome: Bills take control of AFC East with 24-20 victory.’

‘The Bills will give Jennings help on occasion, but in one-on-one situations Jennings must do the job.’

‘”We’re going to let Bledsoe just sit back there and throw the ball! We love him that much,” joked new Dolphins linebacker Junior Seau this past week. “Our game plan is pretty easy. Everyone wants to put pressure on the quarterback and he is definitely going to be a key to get their offense going. We all know that. Getting him to move his feet outside the pocket is one of the keys.”‘

‘Q: Is he worried about McGahee? A: Sure, he is. Remember, when The News called him on draft day, he called it a “slap in the face.” Then management got to him and he backed off that, too. He knows the Bills believe McGahee can be a star in the National Football League. He was worried in April, he’s worried now and he’ll be worried as long as McGahee is on the same team.’
