Two Bills Drive

‘”We didn’t make any plays. That was the thing we talked about at half time. We talked about the packages that we’d use. We were a play or two away of getting back in the ball game and we gave them two really quick plays right off the bat. We were losing negative yardage in the first series. We had a turnover and gave up a punt. We gave up a quick score. When you look at all those other stats, that’s just all they are. The score is the most important stat and we didn’t play well in the scoring area of the field.”‘

‘”I didn’t expect to be 3-3. I still feel we are a better team then what we’ve done the last four games. We’ve got to get it turned around. Everyone on our team has to address what their doing. We’ve got to play better.”‘

‘”This is a tough league to play in. Meeting a team that’s 0-4 has all the potential in the world. If you don’t play your best game then it’s going to be tough to win. They played better than us tonight.”‘

It’s just a matter of being consistent with it. I’m not going to panic in terms of saying the season is shot. ‘”It’s frustrating. You want to go out and win every game. At least compete. I don’t think we competed this game. They beat us 30-3. We didn’t make a play to even give ourselves a chance to get into the game. That’s what makes it frustrating”.’

The way we played today was an embarrassment to everybody who’s a Buffalo Bills fan.”‘

‘These Bills ain’t roaming home. They are stumbling. They were pushed around in the trenches. Give credit to the Green and White’s big nasties. The Jets offensive line gashed holes and protected well while the D-line sacked Drew Bledsoe seven times and held Travis Henry to only 53 yards on 18 carries.’

‘Sunday’s loss is the first time in my memory that a Gregg Williams team has quit on him. There was no emotion as this team didn’t seem to care.’

‘Vinny Testaverde threw three touchdown passes and the Jets defense sacked Drew Bledsoe a season high seven times and held Travis Henry to 53 yards rushing.’

‘Speaking of direction, the Bills don’t like the way they’re headed. After a 2-0 start that had some suggesting their were of championship timber, they have lost three of four, have a dysfunctional offense, and have become the closest team the Jets can start to think of overhauling in the AFC East standings.’

‘“I wish we had a bye week all the time,” defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell said.’

‘”Offensively, we just didn’t make the big plays to put points on the board,” Bledsoe said. “We didn’t step up and make the big plays in order to win games like this.”‘

‘The added dimension to the offense was exactly what the Bills needed in order to beat a feisty and much-improved Cincinnati team. Henry proved he is a vital part to the Bills’ success, scoring two touchdowns, one, the game-winner in overtime.’
