Two Bills Drive

‘Buffalo will host Baltimore in a matchup that will feature the two leading NFL MVP candidates, as Allen will face off against Lamar Jackson in what should be an epic battle.’

‘Johnson cleared concussion protocol, but had to go to the locker room to have his neck evaluated and was considered questionable to return according to CBS’s Tracy Wolfson.’

‘Then before he completely exited the field Allen looked up at a young fan, took off his Bills winter hat, and tossed it to the kid who will never in his life forget this moment.’

‘Meanwhile, Hollins and most of his special teammates celebrated the big hit. One person who wasn’t involved in the celebration was long snapper Reid Ferguson, who ran right to punt returner Marvin Mims Jr. and tried to take the ball away from him for some reason. This set off a big scrum between the two teams and eventually led to a penalty on Mims that backed the Broncos up to the 8-yard line.’

‘Unfortunately Allen slightly overthrew Davis, and unintentionally led him directly into the path of Broncos corner Brandon Jones, who was closing very fast on his target. Davis was unable to haul in the pass and Jones tried to pull up but the two still violently collided as Jones’s helmet nailed Davis’s. Davis had to be helped to the locker room after the brutal sequence and was later ruled out for the game with a head injury.’

‘”Easy,” said Douglas. “There’s 58 more minutes left in that game. You can’t harp on two minutes. You know what I mean? You can have a bad day for four minutes, do you say you had a whole bad day? You got 23 more hours and some change to change it so that’s how we look at it.”‘

‘Allen was asked about this after the Bills finished off their win. The superstar QB explained that he got too worked up about the lack of a flag and Vinovich was on the sideline telling him to cool off.’

‘Allen totaled 42 yards through the third quarter of Sunday’s wild-card game vs. the Denver Broncos, which pushed him ahead Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson, who held the record at 602 rushing yards. Jackson does hold the record for the most rushing yards completed by a quarterback in NFL history after he surpassed Michael Vick on the list a couple weeks ago.’

‘”They got after us earlier this year,” Allen told Tracy Wolfson on the CBS broadcast. “We’ve got a lot of film to watch. It’s a great team, it’s a great quarterback obviously with Lamar, what’s he’s able to do. He’s one of if not the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league. He’s so fun to watch. I’ll be watching their defense this week, that’s our focus.”‘

‘Immediately after his presumed pick, Hamlin took off his helmet, ran down the field and jumped into a horde of excited Bills fans in the stands. CBS announcers Jim Nantz and Tony Romo noted how it was a “cool moment” for Hamlin, but also mentioned their hesitation as they agreed that the ball looked like it bounced on the ground before Hamlin caught it.’

‘Eventually, Allen was sacked for the second time in the game. As he got up he immediately started asking why there was no flag on the play. Replay showed that a Broncos’ receiver had grabbed one of the Bills receivers.’
