Bills’ Isaiah Hodgins has one word response to getting signed to 53-man roster
‘Hodgins’ perseverance could pay off against the Steelers. Buffalo enters the game with Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis and Khalil Shakir as the only healthy players at wide receiver on their main roster. Isaiah McKenzie, currently in the league’s concussion protocol, could also suit up. Whether or not McKenzie plays, Hodgins could see significant reps on offense for the first time in his career.’
Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers 2022 preview: Our writers give their picks for Week 5
‘The Steelers blitzed Allen 43 times in a 2020 loss at home. Instead of sending extra rushers in 2021, Tomlin relied on his four-man pass rush to get home, sending just two blitzes in the entire game. Get this: The Steelers sacked Allen three times despite sending 41 less blitzes than the year prior, when they only sacked Allen one time.’

Five Takes: Will Bills avenge last season’s loss to Steelers?
‘Pickett may go on to have a fine career and become the next in the line of many great Steelers QBs that have come and gone over the years. But his rise to stardom is likely to be delayed, at least for another week, with Pittsburgh taking on such a tough matchup against the Bills.’

Opinion: Capaccio: Steelers at Bills: Sal's keys, notes, and stats
‘Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett will be making his first-career NFL start. The Bills defense needs to make it as challenging for him as it seems it should be in their stadium. Since 2017, the year Bills head coach Sean McDermott took over and Leslie Frazier became the team’s defensive coordinator, they have faced a rookie quarterback eleven times, including the regular season and playoffs. In those match-ups, the rookie signal-callers have recorded a 59.5 passer rating, throwing seven touchdowns and seventeen interceptions. A good start for the defense, whether getting to Pickett early with pressure or getting him to turn the ball over, will go a long way in continuing this success.’
Bills sign WR Isaiah Hodgins to 53-man roster
‘Buffalo also announced that Jamison Crowder has been placed on the injured reserve list.’
Bills add WR Isaiah Hodgins, DB Ja’Marcus Ingram to active roster
‘If Hodgins plays Sunday, it will be his first regular season game of the year. He was Buffalo’s most productive receiver in the preseason. Ingram signed with the Bills after a rookie camp tryout in May following one season playing for University at Buffalo, and he saw action in the loss at Miami two weeks ago after being elevated from the practice squad.’
Bills seeking revenge against Steelers after 2021 season-opening loss
‘The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year wrecked the Bills’ offensive game plan, getting to Josh Allen five times with three sacks. He is currently on the injured reserve list, so Buffalo won’t have to handle him this time around.’
Thad’s Three Things: Bills vs. Steelers
‘Despite a 1-3 record, this is still the Steelers under Mike Tomlin. Their defense is, as usual, pretty good. Pittsburgh is 6th in the NFL in turnovers forced and tied for the Bills with the league’s most interceptions at seven. Minkah Fitzpatrick is a walking turnover in the secondary. Alex Highsmith has the NFL’s second most sacks with five and a half. Pittsburgh is yet to allow more than 24 points on defense. This unit can play, even without T.J. Watt.’
Another lengthy injury report for Buffalo ahead of matchup against new-look Pittsburgh
‘Hodgins has been dealing with injuries ever since being drafted by Buffalo in the 6th round in 2020, and this marks his first true chance to make an impact on the field. He’s only suited up for one regular season game in his career so far, failing to log any receptions.’
Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills – NFL Week 5 Preview
‘Even though the Steelers are trending toward missing out on the playoffs, they’re still an AFC team. That’s an important tiebreaker, so the Bills will want to gain some ground there if it comes down to it in January.’
