McDermott confident, excited with defensive line even without Miller
‘”It’s an opportunity for them, each in a little bit of a different way for each of the guys that are expected to do that. I’m excited for those guys at the same time,” said McDermott on Friday during his weekly appearance on WGR during the “Extra Point Show”.’
Bills’ Jordan Poyer surprises East Aurora middle school student
‘“I pulled up to the school, went and got him out of swim class. I think a lot of you guys saw the video, he was super excited to see me. We hung out for 30 minutes,” Poyer said. “We talked about life, man. We just talked about some of the stuff he’s going through. Just trying to be positive. Logan, he’s a good kid, you can tell he’s got a great spirit about him.”’
Carucci Take 2: Allen, Bills have plenty to prove in rematch with Jets
‘Allen must apply all that he learned from studying what the Jets did against him in the previous meeting, what mistakes he made in his reads and what adjustments he can expect from the Jets’ defense as it also plans for changes by Allen and Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.’
Bills DT Jordan Phillips, FB Reggie Gilliam ruled out for Week 14 vs. Jets
‘Phillips was injured during last week’s Thursday night game against the Patriots and hasn’t practiced this week. Gilliam hasn’t practiced this week either due to an ankle injury.’

Inside the Bills: Tracing Shaq Lawson's path from roster bubble to instrumental role on the defensive line
‘Call it clairvoyance – or circumstance – but Lawson ended up being exactly right. He has taken over as a starter for the Bills the past two games, and with Von Miller now lost for the season because of a knee injury, it can reasonably be expected that Lawson’s role is only going to continue to grow.;
PlayAction: Bills rank No. 1 in NFL on third downs and will need to be good vs. Jets
‘The Bills were an outstanding 8 of 13 on third-downs in the first meeting with the Jets. Buffalo stands No. 1 in the NFL on third downs, converting 51.7%.’
Von Miller: With plans to play for many years, surgery was 'route that I had to take to get there'
‘“On the MRI, the ACL wasn’t torn, so that was great news,” Miller said on the show. “But when we got ready to do the scope, the surgery, he (Dr. Cooper) told me that he was going to take a look at it, and if it was compromised, then we would address it. And I thought that was the best case. … I really wanted to make a decision that gave me the best chance to get back on the field this year, and then still look out for my long-term health as well.”’
Leslie Frazier to be inducted into Black College Football Hall of Fame
‘Frazier will be inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF), as a part of the Class of 2023. Frazier’s nod comes from his stand-out play as a defensive back at Alcorn State, a historically black university.’
How we see it: News writers weigh in on Bills vs. Jets rematch
‘The Jets have certainly changed, too, but I think the Bills – despite the massive gut punch of Miller’s season-ending surgery – are better positioned for the rematch. I also underestimated the Jets a bit last time, while being impressed with their defense. The switch from Zach Wilson to Mike White is fascinating for the long-term outlook of this team. Any time a team can rally around a quarterback like the Jets have, they’re dangerous. I think Jets coach Robert Saleh has done an excellent job turning this team around, but the Bills are still more solidified. If the Buffalo defense can get some takeaways and the offense can stay two-dimensional, the Bills can extend their win streak. Bills, 24-20.;
View from Vegas: Points are appealing as Jets have been strong off a loss
‘Prediction: Bills over Jets by 6.’
Leaders optimistic about Bills stadium deal as study finds no environment barriers to construction
‘”There are multiple documents still being worked out … but it’s possible that we’ll be back here by the end of the year,” said Erie County Attorney Jeremy Toth. “It’s optimistic, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.”‘
Erik Brady: Bills-Jets rivalry missing the hatred, but it does have a poem
‘Geographically speaking, the Jets ought to be a more bitter rival. The Bills and Jets share a state. (Though only in name, as the Jets and Giants play their so-called home games in New Jersey). This leads to the timeworn upstate-downstate dynamic by which haughty New Yorkers see their city as the Big Apple and Buffalo as a second banana.’
James Cook is starting to find his way as Buffalo Bills push for AFC East title
‘At Gillette Stadium, Cook played only one fewer snap than Singletary – by far his biggest snap share of the season – and he compiled 64 yards rushing and 41 receiving. It was his best game to date, and moving forward we may see the snap count between Cook and Singletary remain close to a 50-50 split.’
Bills fever a mixed blessing for venue owners
‘Since Saturday night is prime time for live musicians in and around Western New York, an unintended consequence directly affects the local music scene. With the Bills game on, venue owners will need to decide if it makes economic sense to have live music during the game, or that competes with the game.’
