Two Bills Drive

‘“We want Mitch to be healthy,” offensive lineman David Quessenberry said after Saturday’s game, a sentiment shared by all of those within the Bills’ organization. As McDermott alluded to, Morse is a team captain and one of the most respected voices in the locker room. While his health is priority No. 1, the Bills do have to plan if Morse misses time. Against the Dolphins, the Bills moved guard Greg Van Roten over to center after Morse was hurt and brought Quessenberry in off the bench. Quessenberry is the Bills’ third tackle and has not played guard at all this season.’

‘Jackson played 31 of the 59 snaps, 53%, while Elam was close behind at 28 snaps, 47%.’

‘What went wrong for the Bills’ front? There were a handful of missed tackles. The defensive ends could have set the edge better a few times. The defensive tackles weren’t as disruptive in the middle as usual. But the biggest problem was that stopping the run was a secondary priority to trying not to get killed by deep passes to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.’

‘“When you’re at this part in the year, at this point in the year, much like a rookie player, you’re no longer a rookie,” McDermott said of Dorsey, who is in his first year of calling plays. “You’ve been through some of the things that you have to go through. And you have a good feel, at this point, for who your players are, and the weapons you have and the tools you have and the resources you have at your disposal. So, you know, those conversations take place less and less this time of year, but we do have conversations nonetheless.’

‘The crowd noise made it difficult to hear them at times, but from what I heard they had a reasonably good game and especially were sharp in the fourth quarter when the Bills came from behind.’
