‘Sunday will be Thompson’s first game against his former team, where he spent the first 10 seasons of his career before joining Buffalo in 2025. He approaches the game with mixed emotions, given how abruptly it seemed his time in Charlotte came to an end.’

‘Unbillievable!’ film and plaque dedication celebrate Bills legacy Friday
‘“They took a stand, the Black players and then the white players said, you know what, you’re right, we’re not doing this. We’re boycotting the game. It changed the course of the South and especially New Orleans. And it has to be remembered,” Rubin said. “So their play on the field, and their play off the field this is 60 years overdue. This celebration, this commemoration, I am grateful that it’s on the day of the digital release of Unbillievable! The Movie, which is really a love letter to Bills fandom.”’
Global Concepts Charter School hosts Bills rally
‘“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen the energy that they had here first thing in the morning, it was incredible. The kids were screaming, the teachers were really into it, the faculty and staff, everyone had a great time,” said Michelle Roberts, vice president of community impact with the Bills.’
Today in Bills stadium history: Oct. 25
‘1981 — Bills 9, Broncos 7 — A crowd of 77,757 at Rich Stadium saw Buffalo’s Bermuda Triangle defense drive a victory that benefitted the Bills (5-3 on way to 10-6 finish) in beating out the Broncos (5-3) for a playoff spot in ’81. Nick Mike-Mayer kicked three field goals including a 36-yarder with one second remaining that was Buffalo’s first snap in the red zone of the entire game. The Bills defense forced 12 punts in allowing only 10 first downs and 161 yards, 74 coming on two plays in the second quarter that put the Broncos ahead 7-0. Ken Johnson had three of the Bills’ seven sacks, Joe Cribbs rushed for 123 yards, Frank Lewis had 90 yards receiving, and Joe Ferguson was 21 of 42 passing for 204 yards with in an interception. Denver’s Larry Canada took an encroachment penalty on a punt that led to Mike-Mayer sneaking a season-long 46-yard field goal over the crossbar in the third quarter. After the winning kick, NBC announcer Don Criqui proclaimed this “probably the best game in the NFL so far this season.”’
Sean McDermott rules out Bills DT DaQuan Jones, WR Joshua Palmer and S Taylor Rapp for Week 8 game at Panthers
‘McDermott added that at this point it doesn’t seem like Jones or Palmer will need to be placed on IR.’
Bills place S Taylor Rapp on Injured Reserve
‘Rapp’s knee injury stems from something he’s been dealing with since early in training camp.’

Why aren't the Bills forcing more turnovers? 'We've gotta stop the run'
‘“The style of offenses that we’ve faced has changed a little bit, as well,” McDermott said. “People aren’t exposing the ball as much, so give credit, to some extent, to some of the offenses we’ve played. But then there’s also pieces that we can pull off .”’
Taylor Rapp still absent as Bills continue to prepare for Carolina Panthers
‘There were not changes to the Bills’ injury report, with safety Taylor Rapp (knee), wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee/ankle) and defensive tackle DaQuan Jones (calf) still absent. Their official designation for the game Sunday in Charlotte will be revealed following practice Friday.’
Who will get to use the Erie County hospitality suite in the new Bills stadium? Legislators want a policy
‘“There’s only 12 seats in the suite, but what are we going to do with it? Why isn’t it already very transparent? So I think that we’re all on the same page, on both sides of aisle, that we should have some sort of policy that’s very clear and that’s not only a benefit for (elected leaders). This should be a benefit for the community.”’
Erik Brady: This version of a Buffalo dive bar is in the heart of Carolina Panthers country
‘”We’re like any corner bar in Buffalo where everyone just hangs out,” he says. “There’s some Buffalo memorabilia, but mostly we just make sure everyone has a good time.”‘
James Cook’s limited use raises big questions for Bills' OC
‘In a game where the Bills were down just 21-14 with nearly 25 minutes left to play, James Cook had five touches the rest of the way, a big reason why Buffalo’s last four possessions ended with a turnover on downs, two punts, and an interception producing no points, a mere 83 yards and six first downs.’
How the Bills and Panthers became the NFL's most intertwined teams
‘Between coaching hires, executives, free-agent signings and trades — remember Kelvin Benjamin? — the two franchises have shared dozens of personnel since 2017. What began as a front-office connection eight years ago has turned into one of the NFL’s most consistent pipelines.’
Has the cavalry arrived for Bills? How 2 returning defenders could spark defense
‘Adding Hoecht and Ogunjobi should provide a boost and help Beane finally realize the vision he had for the defense back in March and April. Ed Oliver is the superstar in the middle, and the Bills have had a solid pass rush on the outside with Joey Bosa and A.J. Epenesa. Bosa has posted 24 pressures in his first season with the Bills. His 18.46% pressure rate ranks 7th overall in the NFL. Epenesa’s 17.65% pressure rate ranks 12th in the league.’
Panthers’ Dave Canales has no shame about why he just signed this former Bills quarterback
‘Despite joining the team, White isn’t expected to be an option to back up Andy Dalton if Young cannot go. That job will likely go to practice squad quarterback Hendon Hooker. White’s job, however, is simple. He was brought in to give the Panthers as much intel as possible heading into Sunday’s game.’
Bills safeties Jordan Poyer, Jordan Hancock intersect at opposite ends of their careers
‘“I don’t have to be here, but I want to be here,” Poyer said. “… I see a lot of really good things from those young players. Sometimes a good player just needs someone to show them how to do some things. Show them where to go, show them what it looks like, show them what it feels like. That’s the next generation of ball players. I’ll be sitting on the beach one day with my iced tea and watching these boys play, hoping that I at least had somewhat of an impact on their career.”’
