Bills pull off a miracle comeback in last-second win over Ravens

‘Only down by two, Buffalo only needed to get into field goal range for a chance to win the game. On the fifth play of the drive, Allen found Joshua Plamer on the sideline for a 32-yard gain, setting them up in field goal range. In the following play, Allen hit Coleman for a 26-yard completion, putting them deep in Ravens territory. After three kneels, Buffalo ran out kicker Matt Prater with the clock ticking down. With just three seconds left, the ball was snapped, and Prater put it right down the middle to win the game.’

Bills fans reminisce as new Highmark Stadium nears completion amid final season opener

‘”We’re really excited about it,” said Ron Dorada of Newport News, VA. “The stadium is amazing. It’s beautiful. It’s sad to see this current Highmark stadium go, but I think that people, the longer it’s been being built, the more excited people are getting into and open to the idea. So I think it’s gonna be great.”‘

From the Locker Room | Bills' confidence on display in thrilling comeback win over Ravens

‘”When we got down early by two scores, no one blinked at all, no one skipped a beat, they just kept going,” Prater said after the Bills’ Week 1 win. “And then at the end, when we had gotten the ball back with [1:26 remaining], I knew we were going to get a shot.”‘

Top 3 things we learned from Bills epic comeback vs Ravens | Week 1

‘But considering how the first 55 minutes of the game had gone, who could blame them? The Bills looked beaten, blungened by the Raven’s tour de force of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. The pair combined for nearly 400 total yards and averaged a first down (9.95) each time they rushed the ball.’

How Joe Brady's football journey prepared the Bills OC to evolve the offense

‘“What I’m most proud of is when I got let go, I didn’t place blame on anyone else,” he shared with The Buffalo News. “I had a job to do, and I didn’t do my job well enough. It allowed me to find my blind spots and look at everything with a red pen. I realized, ‘OK, when I get this opportunity again, whenever it may be, what would I do differently?’”’

Four keys for the Buffalo Bills to beat the Baltimore Ravens

‘The Bills open the season needing to shut down running back Derrick Henry. That’s no small task. “He’s a tough person to contain. Tough runner,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said of Henry. “There’s very few who have been able to do that. You try and put a plan in place to do that. There’s a lot of people who have tried and haven’t been able to do it, so saying it is one thing and doing it is another. It takes all 11 guys on the field to be able to do it.” In Henry’s first season with the Ravens, he ran for 1,921 yards – second most in his career – on 325 carries with 16 touchdowns.’

Bills-Ravens: Who you got? Buffalo News writers make their predictions for Sunday night's game

‘There is reason to be nervous about this game for the Bills, starting on the defensive side of the ball, particularly in the secondary. Cornerback is a potential problem spot with Maxwell Hairston on injured reserve and Tre’Davious White dealing with a groin injury. The rebuilt defensive line also has a lot to prove. The Bills still have Josh Allen, though, and a crowd that helped them to an undefeated home season last year. That streak continues. Bills, 30-27.’

Bills Mailbag: Which positions are lacking depth ahead of Week 1?

‘I don’t think there is a team in the league that can say it has quality depth across all positions. The salary cap makes it such that it’s difficult to pay everyone. That means letting some players go who you would prefer to keep. That, in turn, means filling those holes through the draft with young players. In examining the Bills’ current depth chart, I would consider the depth at linebacker and cornerback – particularly at the moment – to be lacking.’

Josh Allen is becoming one of the most recognizable celebrity pitchmen

‘The Buffalo Bills star quarterback’s endorsement deals continue to pile up and his reach as a national pitchman gets even longer. So much so that Allen is not just the NFL’s reigning Most Valuable Player, he’s also becoming one of the most recognizable of any celebrity pitching brands.’

Alan Pergament: Collinsworth on Bills-Ravens: 'It feels big, doesn't it?'

‘“Yeah, it feels big, doesn’t it?” Collinsworth said. “You never want to overhype, whatever it may end up being, and it’s Week 1 of 17. But you never know. But there is no question that (quarterbacks) Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have been two of the best players in the league. They’ve been the most recent MVPs. Their teams seem totally dependent on them, and they both are exciting in their approach to the game.”‘
