Simon Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I hope het gets his drinking under control. Partly for his own sake and partly because he could be an asset in the booth if he's not two sheets to wind. 6 13 2 Quote
GunnerBill Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Good. Basically from the moment CBS stopped him tipping plays he has been absolutely dreadful. On the personal side, if he has a problem I hope he gets the help he needs. 5 Quote
T.E. Posted October 2 Posted October 2 He was a great announcer at times and would've likely earned a second chance if this was a one-time thing. I guess maybe there was some stuff going on behind the scenes that the public wasn't privy to. He did seem a little worse for wear some games these last couple years. 1 Quote
May Day 10 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 That is a shame. I enjoyed his commentary and general enthusiasm. I loathe JJ Watt and think he is awful. They should try to buy out the contract for Greg Olson and put him on their #1 team. I think he is great. 3 14 2 Quote

Agreed - if he can, I think he will be back somewhere, he was a lot better than a lot of the people in booths these days. Edited October 2 by Alphadawg7 2 1 Quote

It is nice to pair the knowledge we have with the knowledge of a former QB. Unfortunately, too often telecasts cater to the lowest common denominator of fans. The casuals. CBS turned him into a caricature of himself. Hope he gets off the sauce for his own sake. Then I hope he gets a job on one of the streaming services where he can be himself. 1 2 1 Quote

Maybe he could sit in with the Manningcast. Breathe some life into it and be free to tip plays and let down his guard 3 Quote
The Cincinnati Kid Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Also, I will be forever grateful for Tony ending Phil Simms career in the booth. That guy was awful. 2 2 3 1 Quote

But, otherwise, I agree: I enjoyed Romo, JJ isn't the best, and Olson is very good. 3 Quote
Another Fan Posted October 2 Posted October 2 He was all right as a broadcaster. I don’t think he deserved to be fired over that drunk driving video 2 1 7 Quote

I started trying to guess myself sometimes. Sometimes its pretty obvious tbh. Buffalos tougher than some, i often get the run direction wrong. But other teams they line up and its like - run right. Safeties are fully off screen so look for something over the middle or a run check. Edited October 2 by Bleeding Bills Blue 1 Quote

I forget it’s not Romo talking, as if he’s trying to sound exactly like Romo did, even the way he super frequently says “Jim” when talking to Nance. It’s kind of weird. Roundybout Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Poor guy clearly has a substance problem. It’s no surprise, given his history of back injuries. I hope he beats the demons. 3 2 Quote
