Kirby Jackson Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Lol, I opened this thinking, “I wonder if the Saints even showed up on the graph?” Sure enough, they get it the worst, by a lot. Quote

Yeah, the actual X and y axes didn't seem to imply call are close at all, just the you get calls or not during important times in games. It could be that your team is just super undisciplined and rightfully draws penalties in high pressure moments. 1 1 Quote
Mikie2times Posted October 2 Posted October 2 1 hour ago, Chaos said: Do we think this is true, or just fake internet analysis It’s not nothing, it not really something either. I think you need to have a baseline for total calls to see it more as a %. It would mean more to me if I knew team A has 50% of its calls associated with this time period vs just a number. Then you could probably model that to say if any teams are truly outside of a normal range you would expect. But just with this number I don’t know how much you can really say. Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted October 2 Posted October 2 The problem is the frequency. The team needs to be at the top of the graph, at least, to not get majorly screwed. But we’re are always getting called, and most don’t go our way. Wonderful. Quote
nedboy7 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 It’s weird. So the league or refs favor the Falcons and Bucs for some reason? Agree on the Saints part. Quote
Búfalo Blanco Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Yep... Saints and Bills... 49ers surprise me. I'd actually like to see this graph for the Bills going back to the late 90s. The drought years, when New England was so dominant... I came to expect the refs to shaft Buffalo every time Brady and Belichick were on the same field. But Hell, there were plenty of other opponents that seemed to have the zebras in their huddle during those years. 1 Quote
ChrisWatson#21 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Only game I ever remember the Bills getting gifted a win by the refs was the 1998 Niners game. Ironic that it was the 49ers. Quote
mbs Posted October 2 Posted October 2 The Bills are down there thanks to Don Shula. His legacy is long. 1 Quote

Williams has perfect coverage when he threw that pats player like a rag doll. *I've lost track of the amount of Williams's we've had and the amount of times that they have been beaten by Brady but you know the play in taking about* Quote

Was it last year or the years before vs the Giants and one of our CBs did an obvious DPI in the end zone in crunch time / very late in the game where the Giants no doubt would have won had they gotten the call. Refs swallowed the whistles. 1 Quote

Doc Brown Posted October 2 Posted October 2 This really doesn't tell me much because it's simply a measure of penalties in crunch time. The more undisciplined teams will have more penalties against them. The range is pretty small too at 1.8 to 3.2 flags per 100 plays. I guess it's useful if you're a Chiefs fan who wants to prove the league doesn't favor you. 1 Quote

Having your receiver catch a pass, get tackled, then while rolling over have the ball ripped out of his hands (what happened to a tie up goes to the offensive player?) and the refs call it an interception. 4 1 3 Quote
