gonzo1105 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Porter to Dallas for a 6th round pick in 2027 and a 2nd in 2028 is the reported trade package Quote
The Wiz Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Well that will be a rental for Dallas since they don't like paying good players. 1 Quote

Pretty sure it’ll be a sign and trade situation. He was holding out in Pittsburgh, I don’t see why he wouldn’t just do the same here unless he gets the $$$ Quote
MiltonWaddams Posted October 1 Posted October 1 A $23 million per year cornerback asking for $30 million per year is an untenable situation for Pittsburgh. Too bad it didn’t work out for them, but smart move to move on. 3 3 Quote

Cowboys? 🤣🤣🤣 I think he has to play a certain number of games in order to get credit for this season, so he'll play at least the minimum number I expect. It may be that Porter's relationship with the Steelers FO has soured to the point that he just wants out. The Bills ended up trading LT Jason Peters for a late first round pick (Peters was an All Pro so this was a low price) after Peters had a falling out with GM Russ Brandon and decided that he would walk in FA the next season. Sojourner Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Wonder if he is now all of a sudden healthy? Reports from Steelers fans is he played the unavailability to play as a way to force a trade given they weren’t giving him the contract he expects. 2 Quote
Admiral Sean Posted October 1 Posted October 1 I don’t know whether to admire Dallas or point and laugh at them. 1 Quote

Ayjent Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Cowboys are not Joey Porter Jr away from a title run. They aren't good on defense, and JPJ isn't going to fix that. I'm sure that giving up that play to the Ravens with 7 seconds left is why Jerry made the move - totally reactionary. Maybe it will work out for them, but that is a hefty price for a rental that I can't see going well for the Cowboys. I haven't understood the Cowboys hype before the season, nor have I seen anything to suggest that they are contenders in the same tier as 49ers, Seahawks, and Bears. I guess its because outside of a few pretty solid teams, the rest of the NFC is bad to mediocre, which seems to always be a theme in the NFC. The Eagles, Cowboys and Vikings are all in this weird flawed, but dangerous team tier. And then the enigma of the Rams: are they really as good as advertised or are they an old team full of superstars that may not be fully healthy all season? Its only 3 games in, but its weird how the pundits still believe that they are a top 5 team despite being 1-2 and their only impressive game being beating up on a Giants team that lost their starting QB followed and was clearly rattled by it. They lost to the good teams they played so far. If they lose to the Eagles its time to start questioning whether they are actually good. There is a lot of examples of the "dream team" concept not working in the NFL. The Rams did it once before, but that was a bit of an anomaly. They have a lot of talent and a good coaching staff, so I understand the optimism of the pundits. I don't know who comes out the NFC South - it won't be the Bucs is all I know at this point. 1 Quote

Bills Fan in MD Posted October 1 Posted October 1 So Dallas keeps adding talent through the trade market, and yet they never seem to get any better. 2 Quote
