I wonder of they have something planned with those guys but are waiting for a bigger audience to do it.

I’ll never understand the impulse to tell the world you’re not aware of an objectively popular artist for Young Gen X / Older Millenials.

Nobody has 100% awareness or approval. Are you making that point?  Is it a hipster I’m too cool thing? Is it a tough guy I only listen to death metal thing? Is it an old person nothing good was made after 1975 thing?

For me, it's more of a "by gawd, I'm a clueless dumbass; but like her or not, she can certainly sing"

And I would suggest that the objectively/subjectively angle is more dependent on perspective than anything.

We don't get a lot of attention, but there's a lot more oblivious hillbillies in this country than you might think.

They have openly campaigned for that slot. After not being a part of the opener they talked about KC on Thanksgiving. Those Thanksgiving games always have a large act. It would make a lot of sense.
