There’s probably only two things we need to do on defense. Contain Henderson - no explosive TDs, and don’t allow Maye to bolt for first downs. Stevenson is a nice back but he shouldn’t dictate a game script. The WRs aren’t scary or special.

Did the Charges dial up the defensive blueprint to contain Allen? I expect to see more deep safety and dB  coverage with containment on the edges of the line.

Cook did run for 154 with a TD so if opposing teams want to contain Allen then just run it with #4

A thousand times yes. Watching Brady, the consistent cheating one, on fox Sunday made me sick. the man is a Dilbo. he managed to reference his win streak over the bills. he literally said he was popular with bills people and then made sure to mention his win streak. what a Dilbo!

in the broadcast they mentioned the time the patriots came in 2012. it was my bachelor party. bills went up 21 - 0 and then lost 42 -24 or something.

hate the patriots. I know the old guys hate the dolphins and I respect that. Tom Brady, the dirty cheater, was 33 - 2 against the bills. I watched all of them. In the snow, the rain, in the bills backers bar when I was far from home. I watched alone and with friends and family. often I became enraged and had to retreat for cigarettes on the porch. I hate the patriots.

Have to get Shakir, Knox and Kincaid going in the intermediate areas and pound it with Cook. My theory is that Brady was stubborn on Sunday. I think he got stuck trying to prove that he's the anti-McD and got greedy. He will hopefully learn. This team can kill you in many ways, pick your poison but Brady has to take what they give him.

The important thing now with Drake Maye coming to town is to just get back on Schedule.

Or get all over the back and other parts of Drake "The Schedule"

That formula sounds very familiar, but I thought Allen said the Chargers surprised them by clogging up the middle of the field and mixing up the pass rush? Could have been an analysis I read. In any event, it seems the best way to beat Allen is to surprise him and Brady--and then be ready to adjust when they adjust at halftime.

Yeah, my animus toward the Dolphins is a fading memory. Something about Marino and a loud-mouthed linebacker. I wouldn't mind a realignment that puts Miami in the AFC South and puts Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo in the same division, along with maybe Cincinnati. As I recall, during the last realignment, Ralph Wilson insisted on keeping Miami and Buffalo in the same division because of their rivalry. These days, it's like, "What rivalry?"

The Patriots have an excellent defense. The Chargers laid out a little bit of a blueprint of how to defend the Bills offense as currently constructed (at least relative to the first two opponents the Bills played, who offered little resistance).

The deciding factor in the game will be whether the excellent Patriots defense can effectively employ that blueprint (or some variation of it) and make the day tough sledding for the Bills offense.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is going to be a bit of a "get right" game for Drake Maye, but I probably shouldn't say it out loud, lest the Kool-Aid glasses people tell me I'm a hater like they did last week when I said the Chargers would give us a close one.

Since we're at home at 1pm and we rarely lose in those windows, I'll predict another close and uncomfortable Bills win. But given the Patriots' defensive prowess, the fact that divisional games are always a little funky, and the fact that Josh is a bit hobbled and his rushing abilities may be curbed, a Patriots upset would not shock me.

Ouch - tell me how you really feel. TBH, I agree with you. The Pats are a good team and their D is tough. It will be a tough game. If our D can hold their O we can outscore them. I'm looking forward to this game. AFC East rivals in our new house!!!

Doesn’t help the Bills played sloppy and gave the chargers 5 free possessions

I expect a tough game. Every game so far has been tough. Even the Detroit game when the Bills jumped out to a big lead the Lions still managed to get somewhat close even though it never became a one score game. My guess is the Bills win 27-20 or something like that. It will be another nervous Sunday afternoon for Bills Mafia.

Maybe the Jaguars laid the blueprint for throttling this amazing, other worldly defense the Patriots have? Can spin it from either side.

Refs absolutely boned us in the first matchup with the Pats last season. It was like 7 or 8 accepted penalties on the Bills before the Pats got their first one. I fully expect more of that this week.

27 - 17 good guys win

The things you mentioned have been going on for years but the chargers definitely added some wrinkles

offense conceptually was fine though just had to protect the football better.  I think 1 of those 5 turnovers was a schematic ‘Josh just got fooled’ type thing and the rest were just silly

The Pats kept it tight until late in the first half. The blowout really got rolling after halftime.

So they lost the halftime adjustments battle and gassed out.

Again, it sucks that the best game of the week is in 1:00 window with us (Jags-Bengals) while all three primetime games are duds.

The one on Thursday is fine. Granted its Thursday and not Sunday but those AFCN battles are usually hard-hitting games as all four teams hate each other. I expect this Steelers vs Browns game will be a hard hitting, physical game that will be fun to watch.
