Not at the table Karlos Posted September 18 Posted September 18 My only real complaints are lack of TVs in the upper concourse or in the bathrooms. If you’re not right at the railing you can’t see the field. There probably should be at least two more bathrooms on each level. 1 Quote

Hopefully they’ll get a bunch of feedback and tweak as the season goes on… like adding more TVs and improving the bathroom situation. Seems both would be reasonable. 1 1 Quote
muppy Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I really enjoy reading all the in Highmark game perspectives. Great thread. The TV experience for me was all fantastic. Fitz was in Fitz form from beginning to end resulting in once again a chest reveal lol when asked to b y Josh Allen I'm a very visual person and I was very curious as to what it would be like for their debut. I loved it I think our excitement today is because of the 2-0 record AND the new crib What an UPGRADE I can't wait to see it in person. Bucket list Baby GO BILLS Quote

Detroit had some trouble with the noise. Didn’t Goff mishandle a snap? It was incredibly loud for sure! Quote

I just read an article in which McGovern says the new stadium is “way louder” and Goff admitted the noise caused “several” pre-snap mistakes. We’ve got an even better home field advantage than before. 1 1 1 Quote

First thought it was a new building glitch but it happened consistently throughout 3rd and 4th periods ah okay. So not like the filthy Cheatriots who used to play a mirrored video feed up on the Gilette Stadium Jumbotron when opposing kickers were kicking, lol. Think of the “batter’s eye” in baseball, that concept kinda carries over to NFL kickers also. Quote
billyudi Posted September 18 Posted September 18 We sit row 21 in 440, the sound is still awful for us. Could not make out any ref calls, barely could understand Bruce or anything on the jumbotrons. I think the size of them are fine and I didn’t have issues with seeing down and distance or timeouts once I knew where to look. The bathroom line I found funny. Lines winding out the door into the concourse and as soon as you get into the bathroom there were plenty of open urinals. Not sure why a line was even forming to be honest. My biggest complaint is that the bathroom is so big and the sinks are only on the one side, people were taking the shortest way back without washing their hands lol. My first time at the stadium was the Steelers preseason game and came away a little underwhelmed about the whole thing. Maybe it was the full house and the energy but last night I came away loving the stadium. (Minus the sound quality for us up high) 2 1 Quote

Should have been designed with urinals first, stalls second, sinks last. After I finally got past the stalls there must have been 30 open urinals. 1 Quote
Dan Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Love this thread! And reading about all the game day experiences. Threads like this are all many of us have! On my TV…. The stadium looked awesome. I caught myself a few times, just in amazement at how well ..and modern.. it all looked. A feeling of pride as my beloved team finally has the home they deserve! Also, sounds like many of the concerns from early preseason are being worked on, so hopefully they’ll get even better with the sound and video monitors, etc. I’m sure too (from several of the posts) some of the concerns seem to be a result of just getting used to the new. Overcoming the muscle memory of finding your pisser in the same spot for 50 years takes a while! LOL I wonder if they built the side panels strong enough to withstand 30 years of crazed fans banging on them! LOL I’d bet money they didn’t think of that in the stadium design. 1 Quote

On the jumbotrons, it was barely visable from a distance. On the sides it was still small. Anybody else, notice this? Agreed on both counts, I was in the middle of the 400s and had to squint to see the down and distance. For some reason they never showed it on the main screens, just on one tiny box. Other than though the stadium was unbelievable. They gave us all wristbands that lit up and used the audience as basically a light show that was just incredible when all the lights were out. I don't know if they showed that on the telecast. The place was loud, noticeably louder than the old stadium. Being able to watch the game from the concourse is a nice idea although you can't really get close enough to see the field so I was watching one of the broadcast screens whenever I was not at my seat. Overall it looked and felt like a modern stadium and the entire game presentation from start to finish was awe inspiring. I only go to ~1 game a year and I was suitably impressed. I'll be interested to attend a 1PM game at some point to get a sense of what the "normal" gameday experience is like. 1 1 Quote
Stroke 17 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Couple of things from a 50 year season ticket holder. Sorry if I sound like the, "get off my lawn guy" or the old school, can't stand tech guy. Is it really necessary to have to have parking passes on phone. Holds up the line as service is slow. What was the problem with the paper passes hanging on windshield? Then they gave me a pink index card to signify to the parking attendant that I am in the blue lot. Sorry, can't stand the game tix on phones. Was it or is it so much cheaper to not give me an actual ticket. $16,000 PSL's and $300 a game, "No ticket for you." Note: I still have a flip phone si I have to depend on my wife to get me in. What will I do if she decides to stay home. The concoures pre-game (100 level) were brutal. Hype surrounding the wider aisles were supposed to solve the problem.. Much better after game started. As others have said the lines to the mens room were crazy, used to be the womens sucked, now they both do. My solution for the mens room is simple. As it is now when entering men stop at the door waiting for an opening. Solution, fill in and form lines behind each urinal, those waiting outside are plugging up the concourses. Also remember there are urinals you can't really see when standing by the door. COME ON IN AND FORM LINES BEHIND THE URINALS> Sorry if you choose a slow pissing line. 70 years old and I forgot my ID in car and when I got to the cashier she would not serve me as I didn't have ID. Said everybody gets carded. Is this really necessary? later went to a different beer booth with my wife and neither of us were asked for ID. Whats it gonna be? Section 112 26th row, I understood the standing at the beginning of the game. The energy in the building demanded it. As the game wore on constant standing was unnecessary. Bills on offense Ok to sit and cheer, Bills on defense needing a big stop get on your feet. Standing for 3.5 hours is getting a bit much for us older fans. Late in game swcurity asked a few behind me to sit down as those behind them couldn't see. They becam e combative and berated security screaming that they paid for their seats and they would do whatever they wanted.... key hhere paid for seats as I did, I would like to sit in mine during the game. I noticed that the upper levels were not standing the entire game.... If the first 26 rows are sitting not blocking your view, standing in row 27 will tick off those behind you. No wonder they went to security. Finally, love the stadium, loved the vibe, cried a few times enjoying the new and remembering the old GO BILLS 1 1 4 Quote

billsfan89 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 (edited) For the fans who were at the game, how loud was the new stadium compared to the old one? About the same? Less loud? Slightly louder? Much louder? The Ralph always had a good reputation among opposing players as one of the louder stadiums in the league. Not as loud as Arrowhead or Seattle, but up there with Philly in that second tier of really loud stadiums. So if the new design could take it up half a notch that would make a big difference and probably put it in that tier with Seattle and Arrowhead. Edited September 18 by billsfan89 Quote

It seemed obviously much louder when the place was really going on 3rd and 4th downs. I mentioned it earlier, but the crowd started off really hot, but in my opinion, the ultra loud and persistent game presentation overwhelmed everyone's senses and the crowd was quieted somewhat other than big 3rd and 4th downs. 1 Quote
