Both games they have had a single 16-17 minute stretch where they have really struggled.

Right now those stretches are outliers, not the norm.

With new guys playing new positions under new coaches starting against two good offenses, I will take good defense being played for 3/4 of the game right now.

I would add that the Run D is vastly improved. They shut down Gibbs in the second half.

Both games they made the plays they needed to late in the game to close it out.  Gotta love that, especially with the D-line leading the way. If you only do one thing right, let that be it!

They were without Oliver who was a late late injury and they allowed 24 points before garbage time.

their pass rush was very effective, and their secondary locked it down at times.  I didn’t like it when they went prevent or subbed in Hamlin.  I hope Kilgore develops and can get some time.

I am quite encouraged by how we have been starting the game.

I am mainly concerned with the fact that once the opponent counter punches (figures out what we are doing) Leonard has not had the answers to fix it.

The Lions had to pass that last drive. I mean at one point they were at fourth and 18. We should’ve been able to pin our ears back and stop them cold.

there was zero threat of the run and we still couldn’t stop the pass

Here’s the question… if our O is slightly off.. maybe only puts up 21 points… can we feel good about winning that game?

Depends on when, who and where in that order.

Walker and Rousseau are beasts.  Hoecht is much better when he rushes in the interior.  Chubb had nice game.  The back 7 looked shaky again in my opinion.

Rousseau legitimately looks like a top3 edge

They were up 3 scores with a couple minutes left.

It's not the time to be diving all over teh field trying to make heroic plays.

It's time sit back and not get hurt because the scoreboard has become irrelevant.

That’s an interesting take. The secondary is a hot mess. They are consistently getting abused. They given up 62 points in two games. Thankfully they are 2-0, but if not for a laser hot offense we’d be 0-2 and Leonhard and the D would be getting ripped to shreds. I think we are 0-6 on 4th down stops. If receivers aren’t wide open, then our secondary is getting flagged for penalties.

I’m stunned how much pt Hamlin and Solomon are getting in key situations. Bishop looks like the only one competent in the secondary.

Leonhard has a huge road ahead to get this D functional.

We did shut down their run game in the second half., which was great

But the secondary looked god awful again tonite.  No one on the back end played worth a flip.  We have a lot of work to do.

Shout out to Keon Coleman.  He caught everything thrown his way.

Let’s go Buffalo.

They were also going against three backup Olinemen.

Allowed 5 scoring drives in each game.  Lots of pressure early and late, with periods of zero in between.

Run d has been honestly good

Coverage and third /fourth down is trash.  All the scores against us are long sustained drives.

Very odd and goofy d.

I hope they are just young and figure it out
