Sorry I wanted to get this out Monday but I was travelling... Just would like folks thoughts here... 3 up and 3 down

For me 3 up

Allen - it gets redundant to have him here most of the year but his game was epic

Rousseau - thats exactly what we need him to do consistently

Dalton Kincaid - He plays like this consistently he changes the offense

3 down

Damar Hamlin - just needs to get on with lifes work, love him as a person, but we need better

Defense in general I understand learning curves... but we simply need better from the entire unit... there were bright spots for sure... but over all well... lets hope for better days.

Keon - maybe he blocked well... but he was invisible to me

3 Up

  1. Defensive Line - Groot, Oliver and Walker all looked like Pro-Bowl caliber players and the supporting crew was solid for the most part.
  2. DJ Moore and Kincaid - Moore plus a healthy Kincaid give the Bills the 1-2 punch they need to have a consistently humming offense.
  3. Offensive line- Josh was great but the offensive line held up against an elite defensive line.

3 Down

  1. Defensive Back 7- The Defensive line while having a good game did seem disjointed but the defensive back 7 was completely disorganized. The LB's and Safeties made a lot of mistakes.
  2. Punt Returners - The punt return game just seemed shaky I know they have a good one on the PS but they have to tighten this up.
  3. Keon - Seemed invisible maybe blocked well but just didn't really make too much of an impact.

Honorable mentions on the ups - Bass made his kicks, the punter looked fantastic, and Josh was Josh.

3 Up

1. DJ Moore. I didn't expect him to breakout like he did against a good secondary. He proved me wrong.

2. Kincaid. Please let him stay healthy. Please please please.

3. Bills Special Teams coverage units. Guys were laying some lumber out there.

3 Down

1. James Cook. I was hoping for more from him. He did well with limited opportunities. But he's got to be a bigger part of the offense both running and catching.

2. Keon Coleman. I campaigned for him all off season. But that was a letdown.

3. Jim Leonhard. Man, the buzz about this guy coming in. People afraid we would lose him soon. Look, it's only 1 week and lots of warts to figure out. But for the most part, I wasn't a fan of his play calling. There's still a lot of work to do on that side of the ball. I expect to see him on the 3 up list around mid season.

Why Is Bedford getting a pass? He was the worst bills player on the field Sunday

He’s not for me he was our worst CB by far. I hope it’s just a mirage like last year and he turns it on as the season goes

The Keon Coleman hate is getting a little absurd!! Dawson Knox didn't make an impact either. Ijs

I've been down on both for a while now considering the salary for Knox and the draft position for Coleman. Plus there was a ton of offseason hype on Coleman from Brady and Beane on him. 1 game down so far, so let's hope we see more from #0. Knox is what he is (Josh's Boy) so he's going nowhere anytime soon.

Why not? You would be getting fancy bubble jackets from Macy's if you were!

A completely healthy Kincaid could be an ingredient I hadn't fully appreciated until now.  If he and especially Moore can stay close to 100% it makes a huge difference.

3 Up:

- Rousseau - he showed he can be a dominant edge rusher. Probably his best game as a Bill.

- Kincaid - Also played arguably his best game as a Bill. Starting to look like a superstar TE.

- Bass - was steady all game.

HM: D. Walker

3 Down:

- Hairston - To my eyes, he looked really lost on a lot of plays. Everyone is bagging on Benford, but he also made some really nice plays to go with his bad ones. I didn't see much good stuff from Hairston.

- Cook - Didn't get as many opportunities as he should have, but once again managed to cough up the ball at a critical time in the game. Has not recovered from his fumble-itis.

- CJGJ - didn't play well, but talked a lot of smack.

Knox blocked Will Anderson 1:1 and stonewalled him on the big pass to Moore that turned into DPI.

Watch the first 40 seconds of this video and change your mind on Knox. HUGE impact.

On PR, catch the ball. Lost probably 20-30 yards on not fair catching. Texans P had an excellent game.

UP:

Dalton Kinkaid and DJ Moore: Kinkaid had an incredible game. He had the most receiving yards in a game for a Bills TE since 1967 and came up clutch on several occasions. If he can stay healthy, he will be the difference maker that we all have hoped he would be since he was drafted. DJ Moore looks like an outstanding acquisition so far. The opposition has to account for him at all times, which even from a presence perspective, we lacked last year

Deone Walker and Greg Rousseau: Both of these guys looked dominant at times. They came up big in pivotal moments and were the two major bright spots on a defense that otherwise looked like it was going through growing pains.

Josh Allen and the Offensive Line: Josh Allen is sensational. We all know that. Credit to him for dicing up one of the best defenses in the league. Major credit also to the Offensive Line who majorly redeemed themselves from their performance last season.

Down:

Damar Hamlin: I would love to see him cut, honestly. He isn't an NFL caliber player. He is a liability on the field. He may have been a nice story a few years back, but time to move on is long overdue.

Landon Jackson: Following a preseason in which he received quite a bit of hype, he came up small in his opportunities. I think he still plays too high and gets driven off of the ball.

Christian Benford: I realize he was in a difficult position -- manned up against a very good receiver in Nico Collins while we were blitzing five or six to try to put pressure on the quarterback. The fact remains that you would like your number one corner to hold up better than he did. While I think he will bounce back, he just did not have a good performance.

I completely disagree with this.  Leonhard had him on an island so that he could help Hairston and IGB.

Collins only had only 75 yards.  In the second half Collins had 2 catches on 5 targets for only 21 yards.  Don’t forget that Collins has 3 inches, 20 lbs on Benford and runs a 4.42 forty.  Collins is a mismatch against nearly every corner in the NFL and Benford closed him down in the 2nd half. I’d say Benford did his job and did it well.
