I was so sick and tired of hearing this from fans and local media all week leading up to this game. THANK YOU Joe Brady for calling a game that attacked this defense with the best weapon in football and scored THIRTY-SIX FREAKING POINTS!

SEVEN scoring drives against the “monsters of the Houston midway.”

The Houston media was over the top leading up to this game, but it would be nice to see the Buffalo media show some freaking respect.

After reading your posts from the last week, I think you should post more and read a LOT LESS.  As in, don’t read.

I will admit, I was worried about the Texans defense before today, it was rational based on recent games with them. Luckily, our changes in offense was enough to solve what we could not in more recent years. Now, I am a little worried about our defense for the opposite reason, but I saw enough flashes for me to have hope that they will improve as they get used to the new system.

It just goes to show how terrible the play calling was last year though.   The tackles needed help and the Bills had no adjustments in that game.  They were injured and it was a Thursday road game which contributed.

I think they genuinely do have a dangerous defense and that it will show out when they aren't playing the Bills.

But this offense is going to terrorize everybody.

lol

Today was shocking the way the game went, not that we couldn’t win, but the way the whole game played out. Take the W leave the media alone in this one. Week 1 is weird.

While giving the D time to come together and let the personnel team fill a couple holes……..with players that do the same.

The Bills got the breaks today. Allen had two near INTs, one a blatant drop, and Torrence saved Cook from a bad fumble. The Bills took advantage of those gifts big time.  Allen throwing that laser TD right after the Lassiter drop was so good to see. Love that guy’s attitude.

It was surprising to see the Bills make so many big chunk plays in the pass game. Forgot what those looked like. 😆

I think those two early completions to Shakir, that were not right at the line of scrimmage, confused the Texan's secondary and Josh's average depth of target [12.8] is going to keep some defensive coordinators up at night.  At least today, against supposedly the top defense in the league, Josh and his guys were balling. Our defense was pedestrian other than Rosseau and Walker.

You have to wonder how much of this was having the whole offseason to scheme, Carmichael. Huge props to Pat Meyer taking over for Kromer. This was a masterclass on how to take Anderson and Hunter out of the game. Chips from RB's / TE's, moving pockets, tons of playaction. It was just an elite gameplan against what is a very good defense. I don't think anybody in the league will make them look like that the rest of the year.

Agreed. I also think this being week 1 contributed to the Texans defense being bad.

They hit a super long fg….the same guy that dropped the int beat Dawkins and make a huge stop on 4th and short etc etc.  there were breaks going both ways.  Heck even Palmer running the wrong route is even a break on that same almost int play lol

its pretty easy for the loser to think only the other team had everything go their way though

Texans defense is a pretty straightforward keep it simple/let them play and we’ll beat you one on one philosophy.  I think it being week 1 hurt the bills much much more than the Texans tbh

But you won’t hear about it by the talking media heads.  Instead the narratives will be Stroud choked or that Josh nearly gave it away on a dropped INT as usual.

Did Josh play a great game?  Sure.  Did the Bills damned near give me heart failure with that dropped INT from Josh and Jimbo's fumble?  Also Sure.

My heart!  My heart!  I can't stand too many more 4Q like that.

I've said before that trying to keep enough mediocre receivers on the field in the prayer that someone might possibly get open was a big part of not giving the tackles the help last year.  I think it makes a difference when you have Moore, Kincaid, and hopefully healthy Palmer in addition to Shakir and Knox and hopefully we'll continue to see that.
