warrior9 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I'm not going to make this thread about you know who but this offense today was so much more open and creative. The last time the Bills had 2 100 yards receivers was in 2020. It was fun to see Josh throw the ball deep more than one time a game. 13 4 3 5 Quote

It was there being nobody to throw to. If you went through and counted over the course of the year the number of called deep shots that Josh held, held, held and then came off and checked down because nobody was open deep it would be at least 2 or 3 per game. DJ Moore makes a huge difference. 7 10 1 Quote

I was going to guess Moulds/peerless Price circa 2004. 2 4 2 1 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted September 13 Posted September 13 And Shakir was good today. We got 36 in Houston with countless BS penalties. As usual we are going to go as the defense goes. The offense has been elite since 2020 1 4 Quote

And didnt they run maybe first dozen plays until the first pass, trick play? 1 Quote

The offense has been elite since 2020 but we have an answer to our most nagging riddle of the last few years. we might be the best offense of the era instead of elite as long as they aren’t a man team with athletic ends and linebackers Edited September 13 by NoSaint 1 Quote

That has to be cleaned up 4 1 Quote

HappyDays Posted September 13 Posted September 13 It's wild how handcuffed the offense has been the last two seasons. Just the fact that Allen was regularly throwing the ball forward today was a huge difference from last year. It feels like the entire organization suddenly remembered who their QB is. The coaching change is part of it I'm sure but the bigger change is adding a real WR. Moore isn't a top tier player or anything but he can legitimately get open downfield and outside. Which also means someone like Palmer gets the benefit of getting less attention on the final 3rd down. A legit WR taking this offense to another level was the most predictable outcome ever and it's crazy that any Bills fan argued against the move. 6 13 1 2 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I feel like this might be the best Bills Offense we have seen in the Josh Allen era. I know it's only one game but you have to take into account what Defense we were playing against and Cook didn't even get too involved today. Time will tell as the season goes on but I'm optimistic if we can stay healthy 3 2 Quote

This^^^^ Plenty of legitimate penalties get overlooked during a game. It really did seem like the refs were more focused on Buffalo, especially on 3rd downs. DrDawkinstein Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Exactly. Sure, in slow motion replay you can say "I guess I can see how they call that", but there were plenty of ticky-tack calls that they couldve just "let them play" and they were certainly letting Houston play with contact and marginal holding on the OL all game that wasnt getting called. Over-officious jerks. 1 1 Quote

Clowney throwing Josh down well after the pass was a clear 15 yd penalty that would’ve extended a Bills drive. They held Coleman very obviously on the 2 pt try. They held the crap out of Deone on one of the 3rd down conversions. it wasn’t an evenly called game. 3 Quote
