Buffalo716 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) Was the Brady effect.. the Manning effect.. the Marino effect.. Montana effect Can't give a field General multiple opportunities under 6 minutes.. in a one score game After the punt and the bills three and out I was extremely relaxed because I knew that was just going to leave another drive for Josh.. but also leave less time for Houston with a stop The only confidence and bravado you can have on the other side is all false bravado.. because now you're getting four down territory Josh Allen And he has seen 65 of your defensive play calls... And he's in the flow of the game... And as a defender you know that in a one drive situation.. Josh Allen is about to put you through a blender And he makes it look so effortless.. players who could take the soul of an opponent come around a handful every 20 years You can best believe it that Josh is sucking the soul out of that defense while the punt is still in the air because he's too good.. he's too experienced.. he's too smart Josh Allen is a stone cold killer who certainly strikes fear into the other opponent.. and you can bet your butt The defenders are feeling that presence and they can see the writing on the wall and every first down cements that feeling Edited September 13 by Buffalo716 11 3 12 1 Quote

Thrivefourfive Posted September 13 Posted September 13 ….That nightmare I had of Josh losing his confidence after the Denver debacle and petering out the rest of his career…. 😂 Today was a milestone game for Josh. Multiple pass TDs multiple run TDs only nine times in his career (wait… NINE times in his career!!!) and today was: Against last year’s returning #1 defense Road Road in Houston New coaching staff This was definitely a special performance by our dude. 6 2 3 Quote

Well certainly nobody can be 100 for 100 They are pros on the other side also But I'd wager that Josh Allen is going to get it done at a higher clip than any current quarterback in the NFL Houston is much as they believed they knew that Josh was going to do what Josh does in the back of their minds.. he's got a 7 out of 10 chance I'd say 1 minute ago, Tulsabillsfanz said: It turns out it was the Buffalo defense that couldn’t finish games. I mean we had the same thing in the Jacksonville playoff game and we got a turnover It's not that cut and dry lol To say we've never closed out a game in the last 9 years on defenses is a lie also It's good we closed it out today because it wasn't great for most of the day I'd say we're still lacking some pieces on defense which makes it tough to consistently bottle opponents.. this defense is going to have to grow over the next 15 weeks which I expected to Edited September 13 by Buffalo716 2 Quote

I mean as dumb as most of the turnovers were in that Denver game he moved the ball at will against Denver and came pretty darned close to that level of marching up and down the field against Houston too both on the road. I think JAX is even better than they get credit for too and Josh was nails in that game. Really not a lot there to shatter his confidence 2 Quote

I mean, he’s proven that even when he makes mistakes he usually pulls off some amazing plays to keep his team in it. A slump for an extended period of time just seems unfathomable. It’s just something that never enters our conscientious, but it happens to other guys . It’s a credit to Allen. 1 Quote
Fetou Posted September 13 Posted September 13 He seemed consistently more effective today than I remember seeing for quite some time. The conservstive handcuffs system of last year appears to have been tossed, against an elite defenee no less. Unclear how much of that is McDermott being out vs having a #1 outside receiver but it's refreshing 4 Quote
