Chandler#81 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) https://x.com/LOXGOD17/status/2098737839978549308/video/1?s=61 We just don’t know. 🤷♂️ Welcome back to real football! 🏈 When we were last together on a Gameday, we were broken hearted yet again as the Broncos out lasted us in overtime, ending our dream of a Super Bowl. Not just you and me, ALL of Bills Mafia -including the Bills, shed tears. Terry Pegula took it a giant step further the next day by relieving Sean McDermott and his entire coaching staff of their responsibilities, firing him as Head Coach! OC Joe Brady was very quickly appointed new HC and began filling his staff in earnest. Among his new staff, Jim Leonard a former Bill, became a 1st time DC with strong support -if unknown credentials for the task. Together, they changed our entire Defense to a base 3-4 with Edge rushing LBs instead of DE’s. Consequently, more than half the roster changed before Draft day! Most people agree it appears we had a very fruitful Draft, but.. We just don’t know.. Newly promoted Chief of Operations Brandon Beane supported his new Head Coach by trading for 8 year, multiple 1000 yard receiver D. J. Moore from da Bears, while extending OLmen O’Cyrus Torrence & losing David Edwards in FA. Expectations are high for featuring RB James Cook even more while adding new outside threats to join Khalil Shakir -giving all world QB Josh Allen more options. Pete Carmichael (17 year veteran OC) was hired (as de facto OC) to compile our strategy on Offense with Brady remaining the play caller. Beane loves using the phrase ‘he’ll get a jersey on Sundays’. This will now actually be a thing with the enlarged Practice Squad and solid depth. 3 callups per guy then either he becomes a rostered player or gets cut. It’s very encouraging, but.. We just don’t know.. Then there’s the brand spanking new, grass surface play palace with an old name. Our undefeated preseason uncovered issues with our yearlong grass field and replacing the entire field before next Thursday night’s Home Opener will be a challenge. ‘They’ claim it will be fine for week 2, but.. We just don’t know.. I’m really looking forward to see our new, seemingly great players like Moore, Skyler Bell, Bradley Chubb, Elams-Orr, Alford, Hancock, CJGJ, and returning youngsters Deone Walker, Cole Bishop & TJ Parker along with Michael Hoeght’s return. Can Ed Oliver, Bishop, Max & Bernard stay out of the medical tent?? BTW, this is our youngest team since 2020. This also lends itself to less injuries. We have 6 new starters on Defense! There is significant potential for greatness here with entirely new scheme, but.. We just don’t know.. From the ‘other’ side Interesting tidbit, DeMarco schooled his LBs to look for tips we showed in our run game..🤔 On to today’s game, we start off in the fire pit playing Houston at their place featuring the BEST DEFENSE in the League! The Texans have added pieces to their Offense in an attempt to match their impressive Defense. *Personal note; their home NRG RELIANT Stadium is an ugly warehouse and a mile straight up to the nosebleeds. Hiking it all the way up, huffing and puffing, I thought I was gonna DIE!* They already have our number as of late and look to join us in multiple playoff appearances. Can Ed Oliver, Bishop, Max & Bernard stay out of the medical tent?? To date, QB CJ Stroud strikes fear in no man though he has an upgraded OL and very good players on Offense. Yes, they’ve had some success and their Defense is special. There’s a national narrative that the Texans have Allen’s number. But these recent games have been very close, 1 score decisions and we’ve had our chance to pull out the game. So, odds are he’ll improve to some degree which adds up to a very challenging start for us and I anticipate Josh will have to ‘don the cape’ to give us a fighting chance. But.. well, YOU know! https://share.google/CghPdJsOqdhheFk8t https://x.com/robertnkrause1/status/2095204645140353315?s=61 We Got This! GO BILLS! RobbRiddick Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Oh my lord, a gameday thread is here again! It's like being a kid when christmas comes around again. But will Brady and the Bills give us a shiny new xbox or will Stroud switch it for a set of socks? If the Bills put in a hell of a performance and win this, even my cynical soul will be falling for the hype that will follow them all week 2 1 2 Quote

That's what makes this season and, particularly this game, so interesting for me. I know some people want certainty to KNOW their team will dominate, but, for me, it is the uncertainty that makes sports exciting. I agree about being excited to see if the defense can be more aggressive...and if they can be effective even early in the new season. I am excited to DJ Moore's effect on the whole receive core. Will Coleman's improvement in training camp carry over this time? What about Anderson on the line? So, we have talked about all these, but I'm going to thow one more out there that really has me intrigued: Josh Allen. Every off season, Josh has something he works on. The last few years it has been mental, like pre-snap reads or returning to earlier form (his motion got a little wonky due to injury for a bit). This year he said he was working on mechanics. It sounded like it was another "get back to what I was doing earlier" kind of adjustment...but I saw something in pre-season that made me wonder if it is more. There were so few throws from Josh, but one throw was a fairly short throw about 10 yards or so that Josh lofted over a linebacker and perfectly floated it to the receiver. I saw someone point out that Josh's throwing motion looked different from what we've seen before. It was 3/4, almost side-armed, and a kind of flick of the wrist. As I mentioned it was lofted perfectly. Could Josh have been working on his touch pass mechanics? Could he take another jump in this area? He's made a lot of progress. (Remember rookie Josh having problems hitting RBs in the flat?) However, what if he has made a big jump FORWARD in his mechanics...the kind we haven't seen in several years? He's already scary...but if he could be insanely dangerous. 2 2 Quote

RobbRiddick Posted September 13 Posted September 13 One guy I'm really looking forward to watching this year is Hawes. I was watching something where they were talking about the rise of 13 personnel with the 3TE sets and how if Hawes had come out this season he might have been a late first rounder. Be interesting to see if they use him in different ways today to help protect Josh. 3 2 1 Quote

Can anyone really argue any other player in history comes even close to Bruce. Now another decade of great play and the argument can be made for JA17. 2 2 Quote
