This was the most confidence I’ve felt as a Bills fan since the morning of Super Bowl XXV. The Bills signed Miller, were preseason Super Bowl favorites, and beat down the world champs on their banner night in the NFL season opener on TNF. I hope we get back to that feeling real

soon with the new regime.

Take it back to that night. What were your thoughts and feelings telling you?

Go Bills!!!

That season was disrupted by things outside of anyone's control. The Bills were a machine through the first part of that year - then we had the QB's personal life exploding, his relationship with his star receiver disintergrating, broader drama issues within the locker room, thr snow storm that moved games and then Damar nearly dying on the field. For a team that has been relatively drama free for the past decade it absolutely tracks that all the drama came in the year the roster was arguably best set up to make a run.....

I probably expected us to get murdered as usual but I remember watching the game and having so much fun seeing them dominate.

Defense the second half was exceptional. That might have been the only game where Boogie Basham looked promising. We had 4 or 5 sacks and 2 INTs in the second half alone with Von and Co. making a living in the backfield.

I just remember thinking the lights, the new stadium and the SB celebration did nothing to stop Buffalo that night. One of those night you know you should be feeling heart palpitations but you weren't. So good!

That was also the year that Dawson Knox's little brother passed away.

And I also have some recollection of Dion Dawkins' fiancée having some sort of life-threatening health scare in preseason.

Additionally, I beleive it was that same year that Kim Pegula suffered the cardiac event that led to brain damage.

The entire franchise was just taking blow after blow and it eventually accumulated to the point where it was just too much.

Simon answered it. I meant there were a ton of players who had off field challenges. Sorry reading it back I see listing it after the Diggs stuff it read like bust ups. I just meant a ton of off field stuff.

Miller tore his ACL that year too, to add another brick to the building of bad luck that was that season. The Cincinnati game was bad, obviously, but there were signs in the season finale and Wild Card game that they were just completely out of gas.

Yeah Miller was playing as a league top 10 edge rusher and that was pretty much it when he went down, though the team kept winning late in the year.

After Week 1, I was super excited about Ken Dorsey taking the reins as OC and thought we were definitely making the Super Bowl.  That belief held on through the regular season wins against the Chiefs and Packers.  Then, something shifted (before Von or Demar's injuries) and we looked susceptible the rest of the way even while running off a 7 game winning streak to end the season.
