I’m irrationally confident Landon Jackson is going to have a monster season. This is my sleeper pick that could look crazy right now and pretty smart by December. He is entering Year 2, and I think the game is going to slow down for him and he’s going to be used correctly.

He has the size, length and athleticism to become a legitimate problem coming off the edge, and with more experience and opportunity, I think he takes a HUGE jump.

I’m predicting Jackson becomes one of the biggest breakout players on this defense.

Probably irrational? Absolutely.

But that’s the point of the question. 😂

honorable mention: Keon Coleman

I've been on the Keon Coleman bandwagon since the Brady hire. Now, to quantify: to me Colman having 60-70 catches and pushing 800-900 yards with no discipline related inactives would be a monster improvement. I think he gets there this year.

Irrationally? I guess I gotta go with Max Hairston. He seems to get a lot of flak around here and in the media, much of it because he's been dinged up a lot. I think if he is able to keep himself healthy he'll show why Beane took him in the 1st round.

Groot.

I'm the opposite. I'll be shocked if Groot doesn't have his best year ever.

As "irrationally" is the key word, I will go with Keon Coleman

I like the Landon Jackson and Deone Walker mentions, though I don't think the thought of Walker being a beast is that irrational.

I'm going to say that Danna outperforms Parker to be next man up after Chubb and leads the team in sacks this year. Give him 8-10.

Hawes.

I feel like we could get 8-10 TDs out of him as he gets lost in the shuffle during plays, especially play action ( which I hope to see a ton of). He has really good hands ( better than Knox) and he is primed for the Butch Rolle play but also capable of running deeper routes than that. Big EZ target for Josh on scrambles💪
Runner up is Hoecht. One of many that makes this an “Everyone eats” capable D where sacks start coming from everywhere. So excited to see this Ds potential when they finally start showing it.
