I don’t get how this suddenly blew up as the trial of the century.  I’ve seen some comments in the liberal white women thread.

I've been following this for weeks.

 

Bored housewives are "doing their own research" and watching vloggers making up and altering facts to point to the husband.  Like they think its a lifetime movie, there will be some big reveal by her lawyer and Patrick  clancy is going to be led out of the courtroom in handcuffs saying that he thought he got away with it while Lindsay jogs out of there with bags of cash.

 

It will be a hung jury.  Imo there are too many difficult choices and if people are dug in at this point, it won't change.  

 

I dont get how a jury of average Jane's and joes is supposed to be able to determine the insane and not insane versions of murdering your own 3 young children

When the right-wing political commentator Matt Walsh expressed outrage over sentiments like these, arguing that postpartum psychosis should not exist as a defense and that maybe some mothers were just too “selfish” to deal with difficult babies, he seemed to be standing on an island nearly all his own. “It should not be controversial to say that a person who methodically executes three children strangling each to death while the others watch in horror is a person who must be punished to the full extent of the law, crazy or not,” he said. Facing criticism from women on the right — as well as from the conservative commentator Ben Shapiro — Walsh doubled down, later calling for Clancy’s execution.

That moron has no clue If she was a liberal or conservative. Every time he posts I feel sorry for our school children!

 

I don’t follow the trial. Once I hear about the death of a child I don’t really want to know the details, too upsetting.

 

 Anyone who hurts a child should be put to death. This country does not have the ball’s to protect its children. Child rapists, abusers, all of them, put to death! It wouldn’t be good for trump!

I’ve noticed the same thing.  I don’t think this is as clear as an ideological divide as X makes it seem.  
 

I know conservative women - in mental health - that have said similar to what you just posted.  
 

And are legitimately mad at Walsh.

As horrible as the situation is, seems there is some truth to what they are saying.  It’s horrible to medicate someone to the brink of insanity and then be shocked at what transpires.  I have no idea what’s right here. Except children were murdered.  Maybe she needs to go to jail along with medical providers?   I’ve seen elders in my family get drug after drug by MDs to the point of unbelievable health issues caused by drug interactions.  The system is broken.  Our medical system is horrendous and run for profit.

Orlando seems to be brain washed into hating the left like Royale.  Nothing can sway them from partisan hate. 
 

Don’t you think there needs to be an understanding of what caused this woman to commit this horrendous act if it’s due to medications so it doesn’t happen again?

I’m am all for doing whatever it takes to do what needs to be done to prevent something like this from ever happening again. She should at the very least be locked up for life, I don’t care if it was mental health. 
 

But in general terms people harm children, rape, abuse, because the laws are too soft. Start executing people who commit these crimes to deter others from doing it. Right now they get a slap on the wrist. If I steal your money I’m going to jail for 30 years. If I harm your child I’m going to jail for 5 years. That bull *****. 
 

as for guys like Orlando that is why I don’t try to have a conversation with them. They are not worth the time. Hate is all they know, that is why they worship trump. And their time is coming to an end. Trump is only in office for 2 more years and he will have less power when the republicans lose the midterms, if trump don’t cheat again.

This is well written and i give credit for putting a ln intelligent counter argument. Candace owen is an idiot and if she said these things she is actually even dumber than realized. I don't get too caught in podcasters because I don't care what they say I less I can dunk on them, Clancy is guilty AF and the Docs who gave her meds are an issue but she killed her kids, no coming back from that.

There 100% should be a discussion of that, but to some, that means a get out of jail free card for her .. in which case, why don’t we have this same philosophical discussion about all heinous murders?   School shooters, serial killers etc., almost all have been medicated and dealt with mental health issues. 
 

Yet for some reason, post partum has become the only one we can talk about .. to the extent that we have GoFundMe’s, cheer sections outside the courtroom, psychotic wine mom support and the idea she should, and probably will, avoid prison. 
 

Why not the same discussion for military vets who commit horrible acts and suffer from PTSD, or cops who melt down over the constant witnessing of trauma etc etc.. Should everyone be alotted an insanity plea?.. and if not, why not, most who do something so evil

have a mental health/medication past. 
 

Eric Harris of Columbine was on an anti-depressant for OCD behavior.    Do we know if that affected his brain chemistry?  What life events may have led to him being OCD?…

 

Do we now do this for every horrific tragedy?  
 

Genuinely asking why this has become the one example when we seemingly never do this for anyone else.

I think the answer to your question is because she killed kids and kids just don’t get justice like adults do. 
 

I said this in the other thread but if she murdered 3 adults in a Wegmans parking lot, there’s nobody listening to an argument about her being depressed
