Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen launches Out of Pocket Studios

 

The Buffalo Bills quarterback is launching Out of Pocket NFL MVP and star quarterback of the Buffalo Bills, has announced the launch of Out of Pocket Studios, a media venture that will have him backing entertainment, commercial and experiential projects. Allen will serve as CEO of the new company and as an executive producer on all work.

Usually, these kinda things feels like pandering and skimming money off the backs of a rabid fanbase... having Josh involved removes that skepticism for me on that front. 

 

I also dig Josh's sense of humor, his appearances on Pardon My Take have always been legendary, going back to pre and immediate post draft.... the interview after his first big boy contract with Pardon My Take & Daboll ruled..... "Room 40" episode was a classic.... these ones gives us the IMO the best look at his natural everyday self in the lockerroom... so I have a good feeling on the comedy shows.

 

This one sounds sick:

I know you're joking but over the last 10 years less and less and less films are being produced at Hollywood studios 

 

The fact that it's leaving Hollywood and major movies are produced outside of the Hollywood sets shows you really don't actually need to be there anymore 

 

It used to be heavily produced at Hollywood sets.. so being in the area was crucial... now it's been leaving for over a decade and it's never coming back in full force

Yes and no. You hit a true point. More and more things are being filmed out in locations. However, the good agents, casting directors, a good chunk of auditions...all still prominently take place out west. It's all about networking.

Absolutely but you could still network with a business and the people you hire without being out there 24-7

 

Josh can hire people who can take care of that stuff 95% of the time and then in the off-season he could be around it for 2 or 3 months ..  it's probably going to be smaller time stuff , no Grand scale movies that would require 8 months of his attention

 

The new production outlet builds on an alliance Allen struck Skydance Sports , part of Paramount Skydance, in January of last year. .. Lindsey Cohen, president of strategy and operations at Out of Pocket Studios, will oversee the company's day-to-day operations

 

Other people will be running it.. he's not going to have to live in Los Angeles for this realistically

Surprised the name Out of Pocket --- is money out of pocket?

 

In any event I'm thinking he started the Production because he's about the shoot the movie "New Era of Raising the Lombardi Trophy by Lake Erie", staring Josh Allen, James Cook, Deone Walker, of course we need some bad guys too, so special guests Sean McBay and Myles Garrett. Hope the ending is good guys beating the bad guys.

How is Josh going to concentrate on football when he will have all these high level business/board meetings? He is definitely retiring after this year. Thats why he is setting himself up with these business ventures.

 

In seriousness, I think it's pretty cool and I hope it's another success for him and his family.
