How will Brady use the 5 WRs in passing game this coming season?

Who is the slot? Who is the deep threat? Who will be the primary endzone target?  Will Moore be Josh’s first option and receive the most targets?  What routes will he run? 
 

Will Shakir move outside? Will Palmer actually have a role this season other than injury depth? How will Bell’s role develop?

 

The reason I’m asking is that I honestly have no idea how this will play out.  I don’t trust Palmer or Coleman and fear both will play their way off the team.  I am excited about Bell and think he could play a Nucua type game (no I’m not expecting him to be Nucua 2.0).

PS I’m also interested to see if 6’7 Latu becomes our most dangerous player in the endzone.

First off, there's a lot of WR snaps available that were given to Tyrell Shavers last year

I like the guy and what he brings, but I'd like to have a downfield passing game a lot more

 

Much depends on the ongoing health of Dalton Kincaid too

I don't see us running any 00 personnel in normal circumstances, if that's what the question is.

I think we'll see a similar offense as the past two years with two caveats - 1) we will have a clear WR1 as I expect Moore will receive WR1 level targets; 2) the running backs will have a larger role in the passing game.  After Moore, I expect Kincaid, Shakir (in his typical slot role, but maybe slightly less targets) and Cook to see the majority of the remaining targets in that order.  I think Cook will have a huge yards from scrimmage season if he stays healthy.  Slim pickings for our WR2 unless one or more of Palmer/Coleman/Bell really emerge as playmaking threats.

I hope they use Coleman in the slot and Shakir on the outside a good bit of the time.  I think it'll help Coleman be more productive and Shakir will be fine wherever he lines up.  I also hope Bell sees the field enough to make a difference. 

 

Off topic but it kinda blows my mind they have 4 TEs on the 53.  I assume one will be inactive many weeks but its such a different approach for a traditionally low leverage position.

With our WRs and four TE options that can all catch the ball, and block to varying degrees, can really help open up both the passing and running games, the more options on the field for Josh the better for us and harder to cover for opposing defenses, jmo. 
 

As Kurt Warner alludes to, more easy pass options for Josh is a good thing

Hawes may be used like a fullback to also take advantage of his blocking skills.

I think you will see Coleman in the slot more, and I think that is where he will be most effective.  I don't think its going to take snaps away from Shakir because I think he is clearly the No. 2 WR on the team, but I do think you are going to see a lot of these players playing both inside and outside.  I would imagine they are going to be using all 5 WRs on gameday, so they should all be getting a decent amount of snaps over the course of the season.  I also think they've got decisions to make when Shavers is healthy.  I tend to think they are probably going to try to stash him and get him healthy as long as they can.

I don't think anyone truly knows. There are some smart football people here that can probably give an educated guess, but even that is still a guess. Just have to wait and see.

This O has so many ways it can move the ball. Sure, we don't have superstars everywhere but we have a good o line, a good TE group, and a good WR group. We also have a good RB room with an elite back to lead it. If Brady is good at his job then he will find plans to exploit the defense of the team we face and will make those teams defend the entire field. Something we weren't able to do last season.

Bell slowly worked into the starting lineup sparingly in the back half of the season.  He needs time to gel with Josh so they can sync up when to break out or inside.  That’s on Bell to learn what Josh wants.

 

Kinkaid, Cook, Knox, Ty all over.  Carmichael will stress to not be predictable.

I don’t know. Latu has a 30” vert. Kincaid is 6’4”; no data for his vert but I would guess 35+.
